Kar moved away form the door so that other patrons could enter and exit the tavern. She was a cold beauty, this woman, a cold beauty indeed. He wasn't sure what attracted him to her. Maybe it was true, opposites really do attract.
"My name is Kar Storm," he said, bowing low to the ground.
He lifted his head at an agle, and eyed the woman with a lopsided grin, that made him look remarkably like Trip, whom he had copied the gesture from.
"I was summoned from my bath by Trip and told to meet him here to speak of an adventure."

Rin was back to her normal self, strength rebuilt and her attitude just as cold.
A sort of cold smirk left her lips when she saw his lop sided grin, from a certian angle he realy did look like Trip.
Shaking her head she took several steps towards him, bringing her face very close to his as if she was inspecting him for some kind of clue, her brown piercing their way into his soul.
"Well...fine. Kar...he's inside taking his bath, god you like your baths. Anyways if you're sticking with him..im off. See you around"
Taking her face away she started to walk away from the tavern, it only made sense seeing as she was going after the demon who was hell bent on destroying Trip, there really was no point in taking him with her.

Always running, but never really looking where he's going. In pursuit of his dreams and in light of his honor, he will run until he dies.
Godric's thoughts were becoming more and more like a book, as if he were looking at his life from the point of view of a third person, separate from his world entirely. He amused himself with the concept that it was his thoughts from the future embodying the present time.
Ultima Peak was towering above the settlement of Gellos. That would be a good place to start, but Godric saw the only fault in his plan now, he did not have the names of either shard holder, only their physical descriptions. And humans looked so much like one another, they were like flies pestering over a stinking pile of trash. He had made good time, it probably only took him half a day of sprinting to arrive here. Gellos was just a few hours away now, and he was a few hours away from being one step closer to returning the halberd to the ice shardholder.

Kar was taken aback by the woman's attitude. He watched her walk off towards the city gates and sighed. She was a tough one. As an after thought, he whistled once, very softly, and waited. After a few seconds, a common dove landed on his shoulder.
he whispered to it.
After the dove flew off in the girl's direction, Kar went inside to look for Trip. Once inside, a serving girl pointed him upstairs in the general direction of the baths. Once up there, Kar heard the sounds of splashing and smiled to himself. He entered the baths and found trip throughly enjoying himself in the abth tub as an otter.
"You should try bathing as a human every once and awhile,"he said with a laugh."I heard it does wonders for your skin."
The otter suddenly stopped palying and looked at Kar. Then, in a flash, Trip was standing in the tub with a huge grin on his face.
"Kar you old rascal! How ya been?" he said, jumping out of the tub and giving Kar a fierce hug.
Kar quickly raised the temperature, causinghimslef, as well as Trip, to dry off instantly.
"Hurry up and get dressed, your icy friend is leaving the town." he said, seriously.

Every corner in this god forsaken town looked exactly the same as the last, littered with drunks, drugs and god only know what else, had these people no self respect. Standing on the street corners waiting their lifes away, sometime she even wondered why the hell she stuck up for such vile souls...but then again she too was human.
Clenching her fists she gritted her teeth and quietly hissed,
"Damn it, where the hell am i? Every street looks the same..all i want is my god damn weapon back!"
Everything seemed to be getting quite complicated now, the only reason she was here was becuase she helped Trip escape from the demon and the only reason that happened was because this demon was hell bent on kiling him. When it asked her if she knew it was insatisifed and draged her into this...demons are such selfish vile creatures!

Trip wasted no time in getting dressed. He strapped his nodachi to his backa nd ran downstairs towards the exit, Kar in tow. He quickly payed the girl with a handful of gold and ran out the door.
They were met at the door by a soft cooing on Kar's shoulder. the dove that he had sent out returned with the news that Rin was lost in the city. Kar laughed softly to himself when he saw Trip's trade mark "mischeif face" appear on his face. Wasting no time, Trip shape shifted into a small falcon and took to the ari in search of the girl. Kar followed the doveuntil he saw her on the corner. He stood back and watched as Trip worked his magic.
Trip landed on a lampost near Rin and cried out in his falcon's voice. Using his shard's gifts, he shifted his vocal cords and beak so that he could speak to her.
"Lost?" he said with a laugh.

The city was filled with humans, each one looking exactly the same as the last, the stink of human drink was strong and the pathetic buildings here made Godric want to show these people a wake of destruction. Those who were sober enough to realize how much immensely bigger Godric was than them, Godric stood a full two feet over the tallest of the humans here, did not even look at him twice in fear. Some may have even suspected that he was a demon.
Finally, he stopped by a human male who looked like he was trying to sell shoddy goods and asked him a question. "I am looking for two people travelling together. One is a female, looking really outlandish, as if from far to the north where it snows. And the other, well he is of moderate height, and has an affinity for animals. Seen either of them?"
This merchant was shaking nervously. Godric blocked out much of the sun in his shadow, and the wooden cart he had been leaning on was beginning to rot away. "Sou-sounds like... I saw a woman like that travelling with Trip. He's got a bit of a name for himself around here. Please, ask around, anyone but me. Please!"
Godric grinned and stepped away. He had gotten a name, that would quicken his search. Walking around town, he asked for a man named Trip, and was pointed eventually to a human establishment.
Walking inside, he asked for Trip, but the owner refused to give him information about him. "I don't think you understand, fat man. Trip has something that belongs to me, and I intend to get it back."
Silence ensued, and Godric smashed the counter with his fist, starting a commotion in the place. People ran screaming from the building, the commotion would spread quickly through the town. If Trip was here, he'd come down.

Rin heard his voice and without even turning her head she shot him a dangerous glance, her eyes turning like snake slits as she saw him out the corner of her eyes.
How foolish could he get?...
Brinign her eyes back to the front of her head she shook her head, anyone wuld have thought she was going to yell blue mruder at him by the way she had darted that icey stare, but no she remained calmed.
"How foolish can you get boy?! Im going to the..."
Sudden screams could be heard echoing through the streets, people running franticaly as if their life depended on it, Rins attention was now diverted to this new comotion, but only for a few seconds, she figured it was just a bar brawl and nothing else.
"...Look, i told you before. You're safer if you dont travel with me, understand?"

Tables were turned over, food and drink spilled across the floor and Godric was scaring people out of the bar. It wasn't too long before enforcement officials came into the establishment to stop him. That didn't last long, they had hardly drawn their weapons before Godric threw a table at them, sending a few tumbling out of the building.
Shouting and screaming, Godric called out for Trip. "Where is TRIP!? He has something that is mine and I want it BACK!"

There it was again, that annoying voice that called out so loudly for Trips name. It was that damn demon stiring up trouble where there was no need and where he was not wanted. Griting her teeth she took a deep breath before making her voice very quiet.
"Go away from here...now, got it!"
She didn't even wait for his reply, for it was not a request it was a comand as she was heading straight for the tavern where he was.
Frantic people ran into Rin, clutching her arms and screaming at her not to go, but she merely incurled their boney fongers from her arm and contiued on ward to meet him head on.
Leaning against the doorway she looked around at such a mess and sighed in shame as those who were able still managed to escape.
"Such a mess, really. Must you cause such trouble where ever you go?"

Trip heard the demon's voice call out through the city for him. As Rin left towards the Tavern, he shot a look at Kar as he returned to his human form.
"I'm going to take refuge with the rats, meet me at the usual palce," he said as he dived towards a sewer entrance, already changing into a rat.
Kar lifted the grate, and watched as his friend tumbled into the darkness.
"Be safe, my friend," he whispered to the darkness.
After dropping the grate, Kar walked towards the inn, anger clearly written all over his face. Before he even made it to the door, his hair burst into flame. No one was going to attack his frined without him having something to say about it.
Quickly, Kar burst into action, with Rin blocking the door, he ran around back, calming his emotions as he went. Now, only a faint smoke rose form his clothes. crouching in the empty kitchen, he watched the events unfold between the demon and Rin.

Godric stopped, his wrath no longer needed to be spent on these weak pests, now he had Rin and another shard holder standing here. Fire was powerful, and Godric knew a use for the shard, but his desire to get it was minimal. Reaching over his back he took Rin's halberd and tossed it at the ground near her feet. "I apologize if it has rusted any, I am afraid I am not used to maintaining my own weapons in the same way. You know that I have no quarrel with you or the other shard holder, I merely seek Trip."
Smiling, Godric knew how to work this to his advantage if he could. Rin was an ice shardholder, and the other one seemed to have power over fire. Such opposites would be dangerous to him, but he could work it so that they would be more dangerous to one another if they fought. "You should have no reason to prevent me from seeking out Trip, unless you have developed some attachment to him. In which case, you should be aware, I don't want his life, just the shard. You see, it is actually mine. If you care, I could tell you the story." Godric doubted that they wanted to here the story, humans were so ignorant of the past, and they cared little to learn about it.

Realizing that the demon could apparently sense him, Kar stepped out form the kitchen and into the room. He thought to himself how much easier life would be for Trip if he didn't ahve the shard any more. He tried to imagine Trip without his connection to the animals, but his mind balked. he would let nothing take that part of his friend away from the world. He leaned against the bar and make a quick decision.
"Tell me your story, demon," he called out, after making a quick judgement. "After your story I will decide if I should help you seek out this Trip you speak of, for I know no such man."
He shot a quick warning glance in Rin's direction, hoping she would catch it and not let on of his lie.

Rin smirked as she bent low to inspect her beloved weapon, it seemed the handle had rusted quitea bit, but the blade itself was fine. She would need a new handle. As she removed the blade from the end of pole she chuckled in disbelief at this demon, he was using a different approach this time. Last time he wanted to kill her for information she did not have, but this time he was trying to be nice...But she could see through him.
"My this is a suprise, you're using a different strategy this time aren't you? I guess their is a first for everything, but i am intringued..."
Holding onto the blade she continued to lean against the doorway, it made no differencet to her whether his shard was stolen or not, at the end of the day she hated all demons alike, no matter thier history.

Godric stared at both of them in disbelief. Never before had any human so much as spent a second interested in his history, but these two seemed to want to hear about it. Godric remembered most of it, though it had been a long, long time since the events had happened.
"My, you actually want to hear my story, I never have been so flattered by a human. Very well, I will begin my tale. It all started with a being named Lanthanos, who was created by the goddess, Gaia, to serve as a guardian for this world. Lanthanos spent many years with some druids to the north of this island, leaving their temple from time to time to smite demons."
Absently, Godric scratched the hair on the backside of his head and sighed. This was the part that was fuzzy in his own memories. "While at the temple he studied many things, the origins of demon power amongst them. I was created from a schism in Lanthanos' personality while he was experimenting with this. You see, we were brought to life by Gaia, but powered by the Elemental Jewel, a brilliant crystal put on Gaia to keep it functioning as it should have been. Lanthanos and I were powered by the powers of Earth, Gravity, Metal, and Animal, and we had a portion of this power to use as our own."
"The druids grew fearful of Lanthanos' and my own increasing power, but we were not the only ones who were powered by the Jewel. There were many others, names that I do not remember nor ever took care to write down. The druids threatened to steal away this power, to cut us off from it, so I joined a legion of demons led by the Dark Lord Necros to storm the temple. We slaughtered many of the druids, but one of them performed the Ritual of Shattering, casting the jewel into twenty-six shards. I lost my powers, fell deeper into demonhood, and now I stand here today, a shadow of what I once was. Lanthanos still lives, the fool now has power over the shard of earth, and leaves me with nothing but decay, ruin, and death. I swear to you on the honor and glory of my Creator that this tale is true, and it is outside my vow of honor to lie about something like this."
Godric stood there, his eyes seemed even more empty, more like a lifeless void, than they ever had before. The scars on his face and forehead almost seemed to vanish as he pictured the shadow of the man he had once been. It had ruined his violent mood to discuss his past, he wanted to just grab the shard and sulk on Ultima Peak now.
