Kitoku Hime oooh, Dark Crystal. That's a cool one...but kinda creepy. If I had seen that movie at any point before high school, it would have given me a bunch of nightmares. I think it was the muppets... sweatdrop Still, a nifty movie. But if we're going to talk weird 80's fantasy cult movies, I like Labyrinth better. mrgreen I think every girl who has ever watched that has had a crush on David Bowie. whee

Argh, I'm so upset. I just read this article on AOL called "21 under 21" where they listed 21 musicans under the age of 21. Well, Lelaine was number 20. Apprently, Miranda from Lizzie McGuire is going to have her own album soon. Well, that's fine and stuff, but the article described her the only Disney star with a Broadway background. How sad!! What about Christy Carlson Romano? *sigh* sad

@ the heat: Did Eisner do that? *#^%*#(@&ing Eisner... I wish there was an emoticon with steam shooting out its ears.
@Fantasy: that is a frighteningly accurate assessment, I think...
@Soma: grr...I guess the guy who wrote that article didn't know his disney. That, or playing one part for a few months doesn't qualify you. (not actually sure, how long was she on Broadway?) Actually, it's my opinion that Christy wasn't all that great as Belle, but ah, well... I like her anyway. Maybe to have a 'background' you have to start doing it when you're really young...
Lalaine seems to actually have a decent voice, it just bugs me that she's too good for a last name.

Yeah, but Christy actually was in Broadway before she was on the Disney Channel, too. I just thought that since he's doing an article, he might as well do some research too. Oh well.
I heard a clip of Lelaine's song, and yeah, she does seem to have a strong voice. It'll be interesting to see if she makes it. 3nodding

ah, I didn't know that about Christy either! (Man, that was a lazy researcher, then...and I'm sure there must be others with a broadway background as well.) She does have a good voice though--I've been hearing that 'dive in' song she recorded. And yeah, watching the Lalaine thing play out will be interesting...

Ah, I feel so out-of-the-loop with my lack of knowledge of Disney pop music. -___-
I think that David Bowie is amazing in that he just gets sexier and sexier as he gets older......

It's a good way to voice your opinion and make the author look like the jackass he truly is whee

My knowledge of Disney pop music is sadly neglected too, jojo. Don't feel alone in this out of the loopness. The only Disney pop artist I can remember and recognize is Raven Simone.
One of my favorite scenes (and songs) from Labyrinth is the ballroom. I wouldn't mind dancing with the Goblin King. whee

As a point of reference... yes, Bowie is hot! I don't care how old he is... and the same goes for Johnny Depp...... yummy.
Now I know that Tim Burton is coming out with "The Corpse Bride", another stop-animation claymation like Nightmare, and my beloved Deppy will be the vioce of Viktor....... However, is this one being picked up by Disney? It's supposed to come out sometime in September. heart

Burton wrote the original story and designed the characters. Just so you know. I don't believe Corpse Bride is being picked up by disney.

I saw hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy tonight. whee
Also saw the preview for that homing pigeon movie--and I forgot the title already! Curse me! Anyway, it looked amusing, but what really shocked me is that it was another collaboration--this time between Disney and...Vanguard? The guys who did SHREK, believe it or not. eek I hadn't heard anything about that partnership until now. I feel so out of the loop...
