That and nikujaga, which is meat+potatoes. razz

I started trying to learn Japanese two years ago, and this was apparently one of the first things I asked! Also, thanks for the food suggestion. I'm going to go look up some recipes. XD

Hello guild! Very quiet guild... I was hoping to maybe friend other Japanese learners since I'll be starting classes in a couple weeks. I'd love to have practice partners.
I've been trying to learn here and there on my own for awhile so I know some basic stuff but I'm really looking forward to having a teacher I can ask all sorts of questions if I need to. whee

It is a long time, but I regret not taking it super seriously at first cause my Japanese could have been so much better sweatdrop I never sat down and studied for hours, it was more like I talked to people online whenever I had the chance and learned from that (also basic elementary Japanese courses helped a little). Yeah I've been to Japan but for a very short amount of time and it was back when I was still a beginner so I didn't practice my Japanese while I was there. How about you? Have you ever been?

I went this past May but I didn't use any Japanese other than thank you. I've been trying to learn on my own for the past 3 years. It's been so on and off not a lot really stuck... ^_^; I never really know what to talk about at my level when Japanese people message me. There's so many things I wouldn't even know how to begin to say.

Also if you're feeling stuck, I recommend a self-assessment to find out your weaker and stronger points in terms of the language. Also, what methods are you using to study? Textbook, online resources, etc.

Sadly I got busy with work and forgot most of them all over again. sweatdrop When I first started I read all of Situation Function Japanese book 1 and some of 2. But that was when I first started....

That's good! 3nodding I've actually never tried Memrise, but I heard it' s good so I'd like to try. Also, I've never heard of those books, are they good? Ans It's okay to take your time in learning Japanese, it isn't a race. I have to keep reminding myself that too haha.
