Pirate Dirge Yeah, I'd be curious to know how they can deny access to just a small group of people. whee
My guess was that it resorted to flaming and had to be recycled. Yeah simpliest answer usually is the right one. Although part of me wants to know the flames, lol.

Yikes. My wife's folks are that way. They wanted to control every aspect of my wife's baby shower too, but decided to horde all the planning and drop it all in my wife's lap two days before the invites had to go out (and bought some really cheap dollar store invites and basically said 'try to make these work', no envelopes, nothing) and then griped because she forgot to add people to the list(even though they looked over the list TWICE before the invites were sent out), forgot to take care of some little details and, oh yeah, they didn't like the location.
And what's this about pregnant women not being pretty? Sounds like something her dad would say too. He's almost 60, his second wife is 34, skinny as a rail (can't weigh more than 120 at ~5'9") and he tells her she's fat all the time. Probably part of why her kid was born 5 lb 7 oz full term with complications revolving around her body not being able to cope with the baby. Mine was 7 lb 5 oz, early, and bouncy from day one.

Traditionally, baby showers are held by friends of the mother-to-be but recently, it's become acceptable for the mother, sister or MIL to throw it, but I haven't heard of forcing the MTB herself throwing her own party. Seems rather unkind to me, but I HATE planning events and was glad my mom didn't ask me too many questions for mine. If your wife had wanted more input though, I think she should have gotten it.

Part of me is relieved that I'm not the only one going through it, even though I'm sorry you share the same breed of in-laws. My in-laws through a fit when one of my bridemaids through my bridal shower instead of allowing my MIL to do it. I hate my MIL why would I want her to do it? But then they didn't show up anyways, after throwing a fit to make sure they were invited. Just plain stupid people. And I'll be damned before I let them plan my baby shower or even attempt throw me one. I'm not going to be all stressed out with the baby shower and somehow hurt my baby because of his horrible family.

I really, honestly and truly do not think people can be so stupid without help. I really don't. It makes me wonder how someone can be indoctrinated into selfishness so deeply that they really cannot understand that the world does not revolve around them and what they think.

Yeah I did some more searching and odds of a quint birth is 1 in 60 million AND only 20 have been "spontaneous" since 1965. Now that I know there's this, like, totally awesome preggers RP guild, I was gonna go in and say I'm due with octuplets, but I don't know if they'll all have the same daddy, 'cause I was really "busy" at the time *giggle* so I'm really excited and, like, stuff! Because your first two weeks of pregnancy you aren't pregnant, that's actually your ovulation cycle. Don't ask me why. I had to explain it to my husband EVERY SINGLE TIME. Think about it FULL term, the day you hit your due date is 40 weeks. 4 weeks = 1 mo. roughly right? So, 40/4 = 10 So if she went over due to 11 months perhaps she was only 1 mo. over due. WHICH is only two weeks past the date most doctors will suggest/decide induction. But Rhiannon, no most if not ALL (with the very slight exception that Hikari mentioned) would not allow a woman to go over two weeks. You hit 42 and they're looking at induction, mainly for the fact that the placenta starts dying after a certain amount of time. It's only a temporary organ you know. wink
