Sounds like my parents... biological ones anyway...
Start with a faux-religious (Goes to church but doesn't know why or really anything about her religion for that matter) hypersensitive overprotective mother with a laid back, calm, "Go ahead and have fun, if you lose a limb, we'll get you some thread to put it back on with" type dad.
And now it's kinda... two control freaks who are oversensitive and over protective (generous and nice, yeah, but still)
and two care-free-give-their-kids-throwing-knives-types.

Dear lord that just got me reading a thread.
I'm so sick and tired of everyone disregarding men. When that unborn child is a baby to a woman and she miscarries, it's oh so sad, that poor thing. When it's a baby to a father and his mate gets an abortion, it's "You can have another baby, get over it."
WHY? Why does no one care when men lose their children? If a child dies in a car accident, is it harder on the mother or father? Are we going to start making that distinction? No? So why do we make it in the case of unborn children? When a woman feels it's a baby and she loses it somehow, society feels bad for her. So why not a man? Because it's inconvenient to admit that women aren't just aborting their own children, they're aborting someone else's children too, and that parent has NO choice and has NO way to save his child. Not his potential child, his child.
And for everyone saying, "Oh but it's not really a child," I'll just say, if he feels it's his child and you disagree, it doesn't lessen his pain anymore, he's still lost a child psychologically, and that's damn painful and I'm so sick and tired of people trivializing it.
Say, "It's sad, but it's still her decision." Say, "He's in pain and it's sad, but it couldn't be helped." Say ANYTHING other than, "Get over it." That's the most insensitive crock of bull I've heard in a long time. It wouldn't be acceptable to say to any other parent, "Get over it," in response to grief over a dead child. I'm so freaking glad I'm not a man in this world today.

I wouldn't care if it was a woman, either, I'd still hit her. Some things just override the "men don't hit women" law, and that's one of them.

My stomach's declared war on Norway. Seriously. I've had 4 pieces of bread and some popcorn in the last 3 days because it's what I can eat. It also doesn't get dark so I haven't slept much since I live in a cave known as a basement and am now so used to pitch black that light keeps me up.
Either it's the lack of food or lack of sleep, I am having moments of clarity where everything makes sense and it's so bloody obvious and then a moment later I don't remember what makes sense or is so bloody obvious.
But today I remembered one. "I hate it when they try to force their personal beliefs." Translation? Don't stand up for what you believe is right. Don't do it, because it'll offend people and they don't want that and why can't you just mind your own business. I'm sure they're glad that Margaret Sanger didn't listen to that advice.
It's like, I can understand being digusted with the viewpoint, or with the person behind the viewpoint, but being disgusted that someone has the courage to stand up for what they believe is right? At best they're hypocrites who mean "Stand up for what's right but only if I agree with it." At worst they really do mean the message they're spreading.

Is it just me or do pro-choicers always assume that pro-lifers don't know the difference between spontaneously abortions (miscarriages) and elective abortions? That is just really frustrating and insulting.
I've been trying to explain that it isn't safe as they really claim (I found out that many women died from perforated uterus and pulmonary embolisms (I found a list that actually that tells you all the women that died and from what and where they got the abortion and who preformed the procedures (It's a memorial to them but people seem to try and had and cover many deaths up) and they basically ignored it and keep saying it's safe and explaining what spontaneously abortions are (after I told them about a million times that I know what it is. I'm not stupid. This list is about women that had elective abortions and I told them that. How many women had their uterus perforated from a miscarriage?) and people said sometime like "pro-choicers can't bring up anything about the fetus so pro-lifers can't bring up about the women, all women take the risk". WTH? And they said that we are anti-woman and don't care.
Why do they try to hard from or ignore facts and truth and get angery or bring up sometime irrealivent when we do? It kind of tells you that something is seriouslt wrong.
Sorry for the rate but this is really bugging me since everyone that made comments about my post in the debate act if it is no big deal, that nothing is wrong and I don't know what i'm talking about.

sachiko_sohma How many women had their uterus perforated from a miscarriage? That doesn't seem likely. Unless the fetus had claws. eek Most pro-choicers assume we don't know anything about reproduction. rolleyes

Well last I checked fetuses didn't have claws that could punture organs but maybe they know sometime that we don't know? rolleyes
I don't think they understand our side of debate.
This one girl said "everyone should be pro-choice so women that want abortions (the right to kill unborn children) can have one and ones that don't want one don't get one", but how does that solve the problem of others killing just because they don't want the baby?
Not everyone wants to support that (unless it's seriously life and death), which why we are called pro-life.

You guys, don't you know that fetus' are alien parasites??? The puncture wounds come from when they burst out!
And of course we don't know anything about reproduction; If we did, we'd be Pro-Choice! Duh.

So when it kicks, it's really the parasite trying to eat you and suck up all your nutrition?
Also apparently it's ok to kill if you don't want to be pregnant and it's cheaper then childbirth. Adoption is evil and don't solve anything.

God, I'm so disgusted, and sad. I answered someone's question on Yahoo last night, and while I admit that I should have calmed down and made a more unbiased post, it doesn't justify what this girl under me said.
Basically, the question posted wasn't a question, more of a rant, and the girl talked about how she and her family were fighting because her dad wasn't home enough. While the girl herself wasn't really handling her emotions well and was acting out (verbally, yelling, etc.,) her mom was no better than she, because she smacked the girl, hard. I responded, saying that it was abuse (technically, it's really mild, but I think it's still abuse) and that I'd slap anyone who slapped me (immature of me, I know.)
However, a different person that replied under me said not to listen to the 'airhead' above her because it wasn't abuse, and she was under 18 so her mother owns her and it's perfectly acceptable and she has the right to do that, apparently, since policemen wouldn't say it was abuse. rolleyes What kind of a sick idiot do you have to be to HAVE that mindset? No one has a right to strike anyone, this includes parents. It's hard to sleep at night knowing that people out there actually believe this. Everywhere I go, teenagers are *always* the wrong ones because we're *always* rebels and *always* spoiled and our parents are perfect and if they're hitting us, well, that's okay because we deserved it and we're legally stuck with them and (are forced to) rely on their resources, so we should be thankful for being hit! It's good for us! 4laugh

Psh, dear, if someone hit me I'd hit back too. Maybe not my mother, but she wouldn't hit me unless she had a very, very good reason to.
It's abusive. Her mom does not own her. You don't slap your daughter for being annoying. Depending on the circumstances, the police would say it's abuse. Children are taken away from parents for a lot less than that.
You are not legally stuck with your parents. If they're rotten and you're old enough to support yourself you can go through the courts to get emancipated.

Then they don't know what they are talking about as last I checked, hitting people could qualify as abuse (especially if they hit hard enough to leave marks or bruises). Just because they are under 18, doesn't give the mom the right to hit her (problems could be handle in a different, better, and more effective way. If she has an attitude problem, hitting isn't going to fix it). The could get her into serious trouble if there is evidence that she hit her daughter.
I though it would probably not solve anything, I would probably hit back too as it seems to be an automatic defensive (though I never hit my mom before unless I did so as a little kid).
Speaking of attitudes, it's starting to annoy me how if someone disagrees with someone else over something, they seem to try force down their opinion on you or put you down as you don't agree with them.
