Lucas had been watching his blow soar towards his classmate, roommate, and pain in the rear end with almost childish eagerness. He could not recall the last time he had drawn blood from anyone or anything and all the pent-up aggressiveness bubbled within him, just waiting to be unleashed at the first occasion, at the first slip of self-restraint, like an explosive burst of fury. As soon as he felt his knuckle graze the doll, all hell broke loose and his world narrowed into focus onto the stumbling figure from which he had knocked the mask off. So caught up was he in his intent to maim that he did not even register the hard material that Mir's body constituted of, the stinging pain in his hand, the darting figure that had managed to effortlessly break into his guard and retreated or the sudden emptiness in his jacket's pocket.
He was so close to inflicting pain on someone after so long that he could already smell the incoming carnage. He was seeing red, all other senses muffled out as he approached his target once more, giving himself into the exalting pain of adrenaline pumping through his veins. Her lips were moving and her tone was urgent, anxious, a cornered prey even as she moved back to shield her frail, breakable body.
She won't escape, the forest night was his hunting ground. There were no shadow that would conceal her from him, no scent he could not trail, no movement he could not decipher amidst the cover of the night. Until a blur of movement and a familiar gleam of silver in his peripheral vision halted him.
"Amsel, take another step and I'll shoot. Don't doubt me."
Shoot...shoot....shoot...the word echoed in his head as imagery of all its implication spun in his his mind's eye in a frantic, dizzying waltz of scarlet liquid and shattered ivory before the world faded into a blinding bright light that sent him leaping back, hands clutching his face even as a scream tore itself out of his throat. Pain...pain...pain...
Everything had come to a premature stop. He couldn't see, his eyes hurt while all his other senses were heightened even more than they already were to make up for his lost of sight, but it was just too much to take in at once. The ear-splitting voice that belonged to an irate Neeve drowned out by the thunderous symphony of rustling leaves amidst the scent of moist dirt, and was that a hint of putrefied flesh?
A splitting headache brought him to his knees as his guts churned with the meager dinner he had. Shutting unseeing eyes and remaining in his crouched position allowed him to concentrate enough to focus on the smell of decay that was growing stronger by the minute, but strangely enough, he had the feeling that its horrid stench was only part of the reason behind his growing unease. Was that fear he was feeling? The brat was saying something, tone dangerous, but all he could do at the moment was to try and drown out her boisterous voice to focus on the sound of long robes brushing against forest grass. Something was coming. There were two other presences at close proximity, one completely harmless, but the other...
Neeve was distracted with another object she had fished out of her bag, he could use that distraction to his advantage, but instinct told him that what awaited him in the woods was far more dangerous than whatever the pint-sized homeroom teacher could pit at her in the safety of the school. His decision was purely primitive much like a predator fleeing in the presence of a bigger threat.
"Two steps to your left and 11 steps forward," he finally said in Mir's direction based on his memory of the mask's trajectory and the lingering scent of dogwood still clinging to it. His voice was hoarse, yet strangely flat in comparison to his previous hysteric behavior with just a hint of urgency. Hurry was left unsaid. [OoC: Since he's much tamer now, feel free to puppet him in incoming exit posts whenever that is]
