Odd groaned softly. No escaping it now. "He never stays put," he lamented, leaning around Xandra to scratch behind Kiwi's ears. "No matter how many times I tell him not to follow me..."

Xandra blinked for a moment, looking down at the dog and then back up at Odd. "It's yours...?" she asked quietly, not wanting to attract attention to it, "You know they'll kick him out if they catch him. Can't he stay with that Yumi girl or something...?"

"I couldn't subject Kiwi to that. He goes crazy whenever I'm gone for too long--that's why he always tries to follow me. If I left him at Yumi's house, I wouldn't be able to see him except on weekends."

Xandra nodded, scooting over a bit and letting Kiwi into her room, closing the door behind him. "It's only natural, I suppose," she said quietly, looking at the pair, "that he would want to be with his family..."
She glanced over at the bookshelf, remembering that Jeremy still had the picture of her parents from its pages. She still had a framed picture, but she had put it face down to avoid looking at XANA's sigil, which appeared in it. She felt strange...it was natural to want to be with family...so why was she so apathetic now towards them? She hadn't sent them a single E-mail or even tried to call since she had gotten there, nor had they tried to contact her. Did they even want to hear from her anymore, or was her moving to France a way to get her out of their life...?
She shook her head; no, there were too many fond memories with them. They HAD to miss her somewhat...maybe too much to send anything without feeling horribly depressed. Yeah, that had to be it...empty nest syndrome or something...
"Well, he's safe here for now," she commented with a grin, "since I don't get as many visitors, he can stay here as often as he likes. I don't have any dog food or anything like that, though..."

Jeremy knocked on Odd's door, waited, then knocked again. He was preplexed that Odd wasn't there and headed over to Xandra's room, where he would most likely be after the Cafe, and knocked three times.

"Kyaa!" Xandra cried softly from surprise. Someone was knocking at her door, but she had no idea who would. Most likely it was Yuri, but what would he say about Kiwi?
"W-who is it?" Xandra asked loudly before muttering to Odd, "Hide him! Quick!"

Odd scooped Kiwi up in his arms and hid him under the tangle of blankets on Xandra's bed. "Kiwi, stay!" he whispered. Kiwi lay down and shut his eyes, keeping very still.

Jeremy heard some scuffelig and looked confused. He leaned closer to the door and said "It's me, Jeremey... Is Odd with you Xandra?"

"Jeremy!" Xandra said, opening the door with a smile, "Of course. Come on in."
She stepped to the side, letting Jeremy into the room and revealing Odd sitting next to a lump in the blankets, though she was probably sure that Jeremy knew about the dog staying with Odd. She was slightly flushed, embarrassed that she had visitors in her room and it was still a mess. Still, it was just nice to have people around; the room seemed so empty and cold when she was there alone...

Odd heaved a sigh of relief as Kiwi got tired of hiding and wriggled free of the blankets. "Jeremy! Thank goodness it's just you!!!"

Jeremy stayed by the door and glanced around the room. He smilied to Kiwi and said "Hey Odd, remember that today is when Yumi is supposed to get back. I was wondering when we should go visit her"

Xandra grinned a little; it sounded like she could finally meet Yumi, the last female on the team. However, Jeremy seemed to be talking right through her, to Odd...was she not invited? Her grin faded, and she sat down in the chair near her desk.
"Well, if you guys don't have anything else to do, why not go now?" She suggested, resting her head on her hand as she leaned on the desk. "I'm sure she'd be happy to see you..."

Jeremy raised an eyebrow and said "but you two seem to be doing something though, and I would assume Yumi would like to meet you... If your finished talking"

"I can't think of anything better to do," she said, forcing a weak smile while she visibly stiffened slightly, "we were just talking about her, anyway."
She stood up, ready to go before realizing that she had to be last out of her room to lock it. "Well, what are we waiting for?"

Odd shot Jeremy a look that plainly said, "Nice going, Einstein!", picking Kiwi up in his arms. "We have to stop by my room on the way down so I can drop Kiwi off. Maybe Ulrich will be back, too."
