  Nox perked up at getting to go along ... though his entire body visibly tense at the mention of a house made of trees. Ignis just nodded. "Yes, the estate will be good. Are there fireplaces there?" he added. If it was one place every salamander loved to curl up in, it was a nice little fireplace. Nox did absorb the information about Chase's living conditions curiously; why would anyone want to live in such a place? Oh well. Even if the apartment was stuffy, it must've been nice and private, anyway. "Can we go now?" Nox asked, more than eager enough to spread his wings again.

"I do believe it does," Chase answered nodding. "We can fly there for the most part, but once we get to the city, you'll both have to be human. Or invisible."
Markas grinned at the thought of going home, changing into a Dragon and kneeling down for Chase to get on. But instead the Elf easily hopped onto Nox.
"Let's get going."

Ignis gave Chase a 'look.' What the elf had just done was rude, and pretty mean to Markas. So the salamander hopped from Nox's head onto Markas's, even if the dragon didn't feel as warm as the Fire Lord. Not everything was about personal comfort, or warmth. At least, not to Ignis. "Come on, you iguana. Lord Nox likes to go up real fast."Nox watched the switch but didn't comment. Ignis was a friend and servant; not a slave. Besides, having connections to others was good for a salamander. Nox took off then, easily leaping from ground to sky once more.

Chase ignored the look, smirking to himself. He knew Markas would rather fly with the salamander anyway... He pointed. "The city is that way. In Florida."
Markas brightened as soon as Ignis hopped onto his head. "At least SOMEONE wants to ride with me!" He let off a jet of flame, jumping up and flying through it as he tried to catch up with Nox.

Nox turned towards the direction Chase pointed, not slowing down for the dragon but settling into a comfortable glide once high enough. "Is it far?" the Lord asked. Ignis chuckled, curling up in between the dragon's horns. "Well, it should be clear enough after last night that I like riding with you," the salamander said. "Besides, You probably would've been sad all by your lonesome."((... OMG ... Florida! biggrin ))

Chase settled comfortably on Nox's back, humming. "Not really. We're in... What? Asia or something...? I think, at your pace, we should get there in a day or so."
"Nah... I'm used to being alone." There was a smile in Markas' voice as he worked to catch up to Nox. Once by the Fire Lord's side, he slowed down and glided next to him, having to work a little bit harder to keep that pace. "But it is nice to have you here."
(LOL. It's warm! ...Not now... But it normally is!)

Nox nodded. He could've gone faster, but he didn't want to loose Markas. So he just settled into flying, deciding to pass some of the time with talking. "Do you often travel so far?" he asked, wondering why Chase had even found him ... or, well, his soul back in the doctor's house. Ignis smiled. "So will I get to meet your children? They sound like fun."((I heard it's the only state in the US without snow right now~))

"Mmmmhmmm..." Chase murmured. "Normally. Teleporting makes things much easier, but when I'm shrinking from my responsibility, I prefer to travel on foot. Logan has a wide network of connections, so if I stay anywhere close he'll find in days, if not hours. The farther I go, the more I have to myself."
Markas laughed as he flew. "Oh, I wouldn't doubt it if they're at the border waiting for me. They must be worried sick. I swear, sometimes I think I'm the kid and they're the parents!"
(Yup. ^_^ But still freaking freezing. TT^TT At least in my opinion. I know others don't consider 50s and 40s cold but I do.)

"Must be a pain sometimes," Nox thought aloud, "having a boss that can find you almost anywhere."Ignis laughed. "Well, you don't act like a 'responsible adult.' That's probably why they don't think of you as such." The salamander himself didn't care how the dragon acted; he liked it. Plus it wasn't like his own persona fit his years either.

"Oh, not by much..." Chase admitted, shrugging. "It's like a game. How long can I stay hidden before God reveals my presence to his prophet? I think this is a new record, actually..."
Markas tilted a bit in the air, weaving slowly. "No, that's not it... They both want to protect me. Venessa watched me struggle to raise her alone and Joshua..." he trailed off.

Nox chuckled. "I probably wouldn't be able to work for someone like that ... or anyone, actually. I don't like taking lots of orders." One good thing about being a Fire Lord: the only ones that bothered him were fellow Lords or friendly salamanders wanting a warm place to curl up. Ignis nodded, almost wanting to protect the overgrown iguana himself sometimes, but sighed. "Do you know how frustrating it is to miss out on half a story? Come on Markas, finish what you were going to say." The salamander coaxed gently.

Chase chuckled. "Logan isn't that bad," he said. "Surprisingly, for someone who constantly highers an assassin, he's a large goof... Besides, he has a reason for keeping me to my job. The more people I kill the more I end up saving."
"His father... Herman..." Markas muttered. "After what happened with his father, he's always been a little protective... But when the same thing happened to him, he realized how hard it was for me to go through it. Now he's very protective... But it's only because he worries about repeat offenders. He doesn't even consider Herman his father... He refers to him as the 'sperm donner'."

Nox looked curiously back at Chase. It made sense, considering what he'd said when they'd first met. "You only kill the bad ones, huh?" he commented, believing that to be the reasoning behind it. Kill a killer and you save lives. Ignis was silent, then gently licked Markas's head. "You're a very strong person," he said. "Many who go through things like that are bitter or worse after. You still see happiness."

Chase nodded. "I kill those that Logan tell me to kill. Logan tells me to kill those that God tells him to have me kill. And God only gives the names of murders, thieves, rapists, and others on the low end of the sane scale."
"Heh..." Markas shrugged a bit while flying. "I don't think Herman will ever be able to use his right hand again. I almost killed him that day... I wish Joshua's old boyfriend hadn't ran away so quickly or I WOULD have killed him."

"Do you think ..." Nox began, "... that you'll ever get tired of killing?" The question was asked with a pretty big guess that Chase would say 'No.' as an answer. Ignis smiled, patting Markas's head with a paw. "I expect nothing less from someone like you." Then he laid his head down, watching clouds go by. "... Are we there yet?"
