Well I was looking at the best sellers of the week wall when I was in Japan over the summer, and I picked up L'Arc~En~Ciel (#3 at that time) because it looked promising. I really liked it a lot so from then I did some internet clicking and came upon Dir en grey, and then a friend introduced me to Miyavi and Gazette.

It started like 4 years ago when i was in vacation in the Dominican Republic and i heard the Dragonball Z opening "Cha la head cha la" from Hironobu Kageyama ever since then i used to listen to songs from anime's. And like 2 years ago when i heard the GTO opening "Driver's High" was from L'arc~en~ciel and a couple of days later i saw a videoclip from them on tv. I started to get interested in jrock music and ever since then i found alot of bands and artists that i like ^^

I started out comming accross Do As Infinity and listening to them for a time. after poking around a few websites I came accross Oblivion Dust and a few other bands. Nekocon 6 was when i really started to investigate and poke around the more visual kei bands, particularly perriot at the time. at the j rock pannel i first heard the name kagrra which upon listening to Gozen i got sucked into followig them pretty closely and i would say are now the band that i follow and study the most. (i just last week finally obtained a legal copy of Gozen of my own and now only lack 1 more "mini- album" in their catalogue, minus a few singles here and there. if that provides any perspective on how closely i follow them.)

I got into J-rock through a random girl that I got to know, and she showed me Dir en Grey, and I hated them when I first listened to them. I was also creeped out when I found out they were actually males. But the song that interested me was Mask from Gauze, so I began listening to more, didnt like them and deleted them, then re-downloaded and now I like a lot of their songs. Which then found music from peoples online blogs like xanga and began to like Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois, Plastic Tree, Pierrot and random songs by miscellaneous artists.
By now about maybe 40-55% of music I listen to is J-rock. Im still in search of different bands, not the same Visual Kei stuff thats boring, just like a lot of the music in America is the same.
