Karissa looked to Laurence, clearly leaving the decision to him.

Rachel got home eagerly, lying on her couch, which she got to splurge on because she didn't have a bed. She watched T.V. for a little bit, but not sports, those just annoyed her. She finally just lay there, reading the same book she had read last night.

Karissa shrugged, and went up the room she'd picked out earlier. "It's getting pretty late. I'm going to turn in." said Arianna, after she'd made sure Laurence had a room too. "Sure. I'm just going to read before going to bed," Karissa nodded reassuringly, only half-lying.

When Ari was asleep, Rachel slipped back into the house. She opened the window, unlocking it with her mind. She found Laurence still in the sitting room where they had been playing DDR. "Hello, thought I'd drop in." She sat down on the couch, hugging her knees. "Aren't you lonely?"

Karissa heard their voices downstairs, but decided not to join them. She was actually pretty engrossed in her book now.

"Ya, I'm fine, I dunno, I've never really killed that many people before, it just defeats the prupose of not drinking from them." Rachel sighed and let herself lie down on the couch letting her feet lie in Laurence's lap. "Comfortable?" He laughed, and Rachel nodded. "Now, are you okay?" She asked.

kikithefashionista Flaming Dead Man kikithefashionista Flaming Dead Man kikithefashionista "I think it has to do with the first vampires I met," she said softly. "They were...different, to say the least. They never really accepted what happened to us, so they acted like it didn't. We all befriended humans, rather than considering them a food source. We liked letting ourselves get attached to things, people. We had romances and friendships and lived normal lives." She looked out of the doorway to a picture of a few pale-skinned people, all smiling. "But then things started happening, and eventually we all had to accept it. I guess even after...I still can't." The thought of all that had happened came rushing back to her. Memories she was sure she had managed to push away. "But, it's all in the past now." He wanted to ask what, but he wasn't sure if the time was right. Instead, he looked away from her, giving himself time to lighten his own mood, then looked back with a cheerful grin, "Well, how about we finish up here and then we can chat later." His word use didn't seem at all to be connected to their conversation and he had meant it that way. She smiled, happy at the change of subject. She still wasn't sure if she was ready to talk about it yet. "Okay," she agreed. The room was almost finished now. She contemplated tracking down actual carpets and things from the time period to add to the room, wondering if it needed it. It already felt like she'd taken herself back into an Asian time machine. "Thanks for helping me out with all of this," she said, gesturing to the beautiful room."Of course, any time." He smiled, but then frowned as he looked around. "You need greenery." She laughed. "Of course you'd think so," she joked. "What do you suggest I do in that department Mr. Greenthumb?"He smiled, knowing it was true, "I think that nickname could easily stick." He laughed, then quickly made a serious face, bringing his hand to his chin in thought. "I'd have to say a bonzai tree would do well." Before she could answer, he had disappeared, returning with a pot roughly the size of a basketball in his arms a few moments later. It was filled with dirt. He set it on the floor, reaching into his pocket and removing a small seed. He let it sit on his palm until it began to sprout, a green vine-like object sticking from the shell. As he bent down to place it in the dirt, it continued to grow rapidly, the vine becoming brown and growing upward, splitting, twisting, and finally budding into a tree about a foot tall. He smiled at his handy work, making small hand gestures that caused the tree to twist or grow in a certain direction.

"What, would you say, is your favorite flower, Raine?"
