He looked up the circling Kale with a smirk.
"Always, Kale. and we will be ready soon to raze that blight on this world to the ground."
Resting his hands on his hips, those chains snaking and snapping around.
"How went the hunting? I see yout in much better spirits than before."

"Raze all you wish...as long as you stick to my conditions, have a field day with it." Emerald eyes scanned the now rather enthusiastic crowd. It was quite the inspiring thing...and of course on top of a dragon's primal urges made things all the greater. Flying off a ways he turned again, settling to a rather gentle land on the ground behind the temple...which he used to rest his fore claws on, leaning slightly. No he wasn't worried about demolishing the thing, for he wasn't leaning his weight on it.
"Prosperous, filling, and enjoyable as ever. I feel much less lazy..." He gave a chuckle and a blink. "Your nymph friend was right...not good for a big dragon such as myself to lay around too much." He flicked his tail. "And you can take Ko'Naar when you wish...I was holding till I knew Aiden's whereabouts. Well she's with Larissa." Tell the phoenix that they were going to raze Ko'Naar? No...because the phoenix didn't want Ko'Naar, she wanted her tormentor. So no need to upset Aiden and rouse the anger of a phoenix.

Larissa nodded, "He has an Old World mindset. Women are to be protected and controlled, though he'll tell you otherwise. He's forever imposing his will on me and trying to force my obedience." She sighed softly, "But when it comes down to it he truly is gentle and sweet. I have found he has infinite patience when dealing with my moods though the constant change bewilders adn upsets him. But I think Kale had your best interests in mind when he paired the two of you up and Janus is an ideal one for you. You both love fire as much if not more as I love plants. It's an all comsuming love so I know it very well."

It almost seemed that Larissa was fawning...and given present circumstances, she probably was and she didn't even know it. But Aiden shrugged slightly at the nymph's mentioning on Kale making the right match up for her, lack of a better word, babysitter. "Janus is kin to fire...I think maybe saying he loves it is a bit of a stretch...admirable of it maybe, but not love it."

"But you do."It was not a question, a mere statement of fact. Larissa tilted her head and studied Aiden closely. She seemed like she was coming to grips with the drastic changes in her life. Larissa admired her courage and determination immensely and she was very curious about Aiden's relationship with fire. Janus commanded it, controlled it but Aiden seemed to be...different with it. She was right, her feelings about fire were different from Janus' and Larissa felt an inescapable need to understand just how she felt. "Do you feel it's pain? It's longing or happiness? Is it real to you?"

Aiden plainly nodded to Larissa, clasping her hands together in front of herself for lack of something better to do with them. "Yes, I do." She let her head fall to the side slightly as she considered how best to verse this...it seemed no one seemed to really get how she was with fire really. "Most people look at fire and thing it just some...unconcious force that is nothing more than a simple element...not even a fire elemental seems to understand as much as I do." Which was kind of odd when you looked at it.
"But it feels things, it thinks things...it loves and it greives." A slight chuckle, "Opinionated too. If you notice I never command a thing of it...I merely ask of it." She had a thoughtful far off look to her a moment. "It's very real to me...easily felt as if someone were to reach a hand out and touch you." Then a blink. "Why?"

Larissa smiled, "I was merely curious." She waved a hand and a bunch of daisies took root in the ground next to her. "I'm not sure if I am the same as you but I do know that I feel plants in a way that most people don't. I don't know if other nymphs are the same, maybe it's a nymph thing." She shrugged. "But when a plant is burned I feel it and when someone picks one, I can actually hear the flower crying out to me. Nature seems to move to please me because I ask it to and when I'm upset or unhappy, my plants try to make me feel better. They are my friends and I love them dearly but no one else seems to understand how much I feel for what they call, mere plants." She said it softly, cradling a daisy head gently in her palm and stroking the soft petals. "It's funny, other people picking my flowers makes them cry, but if I do," she pulled the daisy up gently, "i hear nothing. It's almost like they are willing to endure pain for me." she looked at Aiden for a moment, "I'm probably not making any sense..."

Aiden smiled softly. "That's exactly how fire it to me...so I understand perfectly. To others...it's all just mere nature...to us, they provide a comfort to us, try to please us and ensure our happiness." Then a thought that made it seem wrong really for Aiden to be able to do such a thing. "Though...you were born with you abilities, I merely borrow mind."
Yes along with her ever growing awareness, she was finely in tune with the very division between herself and her other...but didn't seem bothered by it. Either she wasn't or she really hadn't grasped the truly grand thought of that all. "By the way...the fire always apologizes when it burns things...sometimes it really has no control over it all."

"Well thank you for that. I was squirming when you had to burn the grass earlier to change but I had a feeling that it was needed so I didn't say anything. But it makes me feel better that the fire does feel bad. I guess I always saw it as a monster, devouring everything in it's path and never caring what it destroyed. It's my natural enemy and I've always strongly disliked it but you've shown me it has feelings just like my flowers. Thank you for that Aiden." She idly twirled the daisy in her fingers then tucked it behind her ear. "It may be true that you weren't born this way Aiden but do you really wish you could be just a human? Maybe you always had an affinity for fire, I don't think that kind of thing happens from chemicals. The way you feel about fire is deeply rooted within you, it comes from your soul not some chemical injected into your body. That b*****d just got lucky deciding on a phoenix."

Well...at least she changed one view on fire today...that made her happy really...after all, fire indeed wasn't the monster it was made out to be all the time. Half the time it did something it felt bad for it...and it usually felt used...and then it died. Not fun at all for the poor flames.
"I don't think I could be just human as you put it. I think I'd feel...alone...without my closeness to the flames." But she shook her head lightly at Larissa. "I wish I knew...I can't remember...but sometimes...I see things. Mostly when I sleep...or when she has control..." Indeed, those little visisons...blurry memories almost. Then a slight smile. "Indeed from my soul...the soul of a phoenix and a human intertwined..." Thouhg she didn't know how that was done...but she oddly knew that's how it was...at least spiritually speaking.
Then another curious look to Larissa. "How does one turn a phoenix into a human? How can one turn a human into a phoenix yet they don't know of each other...yet share powers, share a bond to flames...I just wish I knew a bit more..."

Larissa could do nothing more than shrug. "I wish I could help you Aiden. I just don't know. All I know is what I've heard, probably the same things you have. According to the stories, you were a normal human girl who was taken in by that b*****d and he continously injected you full of things that made you lose your memory adn forced your body to transform into that of a phoenix. I think that since the change wasn't natural, you don't retain your memories, or maybe it's because he forced you to forget them so often. I don't really know, just guessing. Grasping at straws you could say." She ran a hand through her hair and looked thoughtful, "But I do truly believe that you would't be as close wiht fire as you are now if it wasn't always a part of you. or maybe not, maybe since that was your only companion and it was something different you took time to understand it. Maybe Janus and the other elementals just take it for granted because it's what they've always known."

"You have a point there..." Fire often spoke that it was taken for granted. And fingers gently reached up to touch at the fire that was clining to her pendant, holding there as if it was perfetly content to do so, yet not melting the metal or cathing anything else. Behaving perfectly well.
"In the end they're just stories, and stories aren't too much to build your life off of. I may not have been like I am now always and I may not have been a phoenix. And a phoenix may not have been always a part of me...but we seems to be getting along together...and I'm sure Janus wouldn't let that man die until he knew how he did what he did." Though Larissa's story didn't seem too right either...a bit far fetched for even the myth world maybe...after all, a human body could only take so much...

She nodded and her eyes were drawn to that pendant, "It's actually very beautiful. I've always been afraid of it, teh pain it can cause me but at the same time I'm in awe of it. When controlled, it can provide warmth and beauty, but when allowed to get out of hand it brings devestation. I suppose that line has intrigued me over the years but I've never really pushed it." She did sigh, "I'm not so sure. Janus is so pissed off over this whole thing he'd like nothing better than to rip him into pieces and I have to say I agree. What he did was so cruel adn wrong and the very thought of a bird being hurt like that ignites the nymph side of me. But at teh same time I hate the fact that you were hurt so deeply Aiden. god knows the whole list of what he did to you and I'm sure you probably don't watn to know. I don't even think I do."

Janus had let his followers scatter to thier homes, soon enough they'd be ready. next stop, to see Larissa, and perhaps Aiden...since Larissa was supposed to babysit, as he learned from Kale. and sure enough, they both were there, talking to one another. for now he just remained quiet and out of the way, didn't want to intrude on girl time.

"As they say...what you don't know can't hurt you...I suppose in a way it's a blessing that I don't know..." That thoughtful look again, fingers still playing with the fire on her pendant. Then a slight chuckle. "You're embarrassing it..." Meant in the good way of course and the fire seemed to flicker to reflect that.
But Aiden shook her head. "JAnus...is one for revenge...and we all know that she wants her revenge on the one who hurt us both. She remembers him...and she always will until she's had her vengeance. Besides...I tend to think that death would be too quick a release in Janus' opinion."
