(( Okay, sorry Opa, but I'm getting tired of waiting for you to post for Chichiri. So... ))
Miaka had been bouncing along the path for a while, careful to keep Chichiri just a few feet behind her in case something dangerous sprung out onto the path, but the more she walked and the nicer the day became, the harder and harder she found it to keep her pace down to a leisurely walk. "Ne, Chichiri-san," she half-whined, turned and walking backwards for a bit. "Can't we move just a little faster? I'm kind of excited about this whole Miko thing, and if we wait too long they might find somebody else to do it."
She didn't wait for an answer, but instead turned back towards the path in front of her, which now led up a sharply curved hill. She grinned - maybe from the top she could see the Konan Palace! Miaka forgot to mention her plan to Chichiri and took off, mentally timing herself to see if she could beat her old gym record. Just as she'd gotten to 'twenty-five' she rounded the top of the mound - and shouted in suprise.
"Oh, Chichiri!" she called back down the hill. "Come quick! I think there's something important going on down there - there's a pretty fancy carriage and a lot of people moving around it. I can't really tell who they are, but what if it's someone looking for me? We should go say 'hi,' right?"

Suboshi caught up with his brother, quickly matching his pace. They hurried in the direction of the ever-worsening sky. He was not quite sure why he felt so strongly about going there. Was it the need to jump into the fray? Perhaps some sort of comradary, knowing that Soi was probably fighting? Or just plain curiosity? If asked, he would deny of them, and his hot-head would rush into an arrogant excuse that betrayed his nature.
As they walked, Suboshi tried to sense out his brother's feelings. He knew his aniki was apprehensive about becoming involved. The younger twin was rather hoping that Amiboshi's good nature would give rise to concern for Soi, or maybe whoever was at the recieving end of her wrath, if that were in fact the situation. Suboshi never intended to guilt his brother into going to the village, or have Amiboshi give into Suboshi's demand. The latter meant he was being babied, a concept that irked him, though that never stopped him from relying on it constantly. He wonder if that was what was happening here, if Amiboshi had any real concern for the situation they were about to walk into, or if he was just placating his brother.

Amiboshi himself was not quite sure why he was going towards the village. Especially since he hated any kind of fighting, given their history, and would rather have his brother and him avoid it. But obviously, Suboshi did not feel the same. And Amiboshi feared that Suboshi would one day eventually leave his side for not having the same opinions. So he figured it was best to give in once in a while.

Chichiri followed Miaka still a bit sleepy. There was something nagging at the back of his head. Perhaps it was the fact that Miaka had headed the wrong way and was in fact traveling towards Kutou. He rolled his eye behind his mask and decided to teleport them rather than fight with the squirmy girl. Still...the feeling didn't go away. What had begun as hazy was slowly condensing into a very threatening presence. Suddenly, it focused to pin point clarity. The Seiryu were nearby. Almost on cue Miaka called down something about a grounp of people. The monk all but sprinted to the miko's side and pulled her down towards nearby foliage.
"Keep it down no da," he told her in a hushed tone. "We're right in the border, it's dangerous to call attention to yourself na no da."
He hoped the group had been too distracted to sense them, but Chichiri wasn't taking any chances. He promptly suppressed their life forces as he peered at the caravan through the leaves.
"Those are the clothes of Kutou's royal army, they're threatening war with our country," he explain as his voice dropped several octaves, "if they find you miko-sama, they will kill you without a second thought."
Or worse... he mentally added.
His gaze remained focused on the caravan. "I think they didn't see us."

Nakago's attentions were primarily on Yui...so the convergence of things coming ever closer were all set back in his mind.
"You ewill forgive me, M'Lady...but if the person we are heading to save is in as much danger as you made it seem...we should not hold oursleves back on these trivialities." Nakago said with authority, knowing fuill well that Soi was in the village, and by the way things sounded, unless the person they were saving was under attack by Sooi...they should have nothign to worry about. He wanted control of the situation from this aspect first though. The tinges of the other Seiryuu in the area would come next, as they would be neccessary for the summonning of Seiryuu when the time came.
"Tomo. Get the caravna moving again, and we will rejoin in the next village inside the Konan border. Send a messenger to the Capital so that we are not met by troops when the envoy gets cfurther into Konan."
Then to Kouji, "Come if you must, but If we go to a dangerous situation, it would be best if the lady rode with me."
He slid back slightly in the saddle leaving room for her to sit in front of him in a very protected position, and took her hand with his to help her up onto the horse so they could move out. The assassins knew that Nakago meant they should send out trrops to stop any Konan soldiers that might intercept them more than anything else...as Konan had been sent word an envoy would be coming, though not quite as militaristic as this one.
No one was focusing on Tasuki, considering the beating he had recieevd and the new events taking place, he was the least of thier worries, and no one was aware yet of the watchers from the hill.

Kouji resisted scowling at Nakago and instead gave him a pleasant smile. "Very well, if that suits Yui," he glanced at the girl before returning his gaze to the shogun, "do you have a spare horse for me?" He then muttered to himself, "I won't be letting Yui out of my sight, not if I can help it." He knew Yui could take care of herself but he didn't want to let her go just yet and this shogun was a suspicious guy, Kouji could not leave Yui with him.
'Things are getting very strange,' he thought to himself. 'Could Yui really be a miko?!' He then thought of Genrou. 'Genrou's a seishi...could Yui be his miko or could she really be the Seiryuu no miko?' What exactly did that mean though? Kutou koku and Konan koku weren't exactly on good terms and if Yui was to be on the side of Kutou koku as Seiryuu was the god of the eastern land did that make her an enemy of sorts? The bandit shook his head with an easy grin. 'Nah, Yui's too nice to be an enemy of anywhere, not unless they asked for it and Konan koku certainly doesn't deserve any trouble.'

Tasuki was free at last! He winced at his wounds but forced himself to ignore the pain, he couldn't let it distract him or slow him down. Concentration and speed was crucial at this point... He could hear the shogun still talking, all he'd have to do was sprint past in a blur, grabbing the tessen in the process and then escape. Surprise and lack of speed would ensure that he would be able to pull it off.
The bandit bolted, allowing his speed to increase to its maximum capacity despite his injury. The shogun and others loomed into sight in an instant. Tasuki's hands reached for the tessen but a familar looking bandit distracted him. Kouji was here! What should he do? Grab the tessen and keep running? Somehow grab Kouji and pull him along? His hands brushed against the metal of his tessen and he gave a fanged grin. 'Attack, burn and bolt,' he thought to himself.

The shogun was right, her hesitance was only wasting precious time. It impressed her the way he seemed so calm and collected or perhaps it was because he was use to dealing with these kind of situations. "Hai.." Yui softly spoke, becoming silent while she watched the blonde man give orders to the strangely dressed man. If Kouji wanted to stick around a little longer like he said he wanted than he would just tag along. Her eyes locked with Nakago's as he helped her on. It had been a long while since she rode a horse, espcially since she lived in a large city. Despite the pleasant smile Kouji was giving the shogun, Yui could definately tell the bandit held such distrust from this man. Come to think of it, Kouji held a distrustful look towards Soi as well. Unfortunately, her thoughts were soon shattered as her eyes caught sight of a blur that suddenly flashed passed them. A blur that was a bit too fast for her own vision to make out.

Opaaru Soi noticed Kouji and Yui leave. Not exactly the plan she had in mind since more slavers could be hiding elsewhere, but right now it seemed like an improvement. With the burden of curving her attacks now gone, Soi could finally use her full power.
"HAKUJIN RAIKO!" she yelled the encantation and the mass of crackling electricity blasted down to earth focusing upon Soi before scattering all around her. Bodies quivvered in shock, both pain shock and suprise shock. The closest ones fell to the ground shortly there-after, their skin blackened and deforming. Further out sustained more initial suffering before crumpling themselves, some only unconscious and severly scarred. The few who were out of the immidiate range or feild of attack fled on spiders legs, fearing the same punishment to be brought down on them. "Get him!"
He wanted to set them off...to cause them to perpetuate a situation that he could use to gain a better control of the entire situation.The closest soldiers, not assassins, moved in drawing their weapons. He would have to slow at some point and then they would make their move and the "fun" would begin.

eek Tasuki got the tessen back! Yet I somehow feel it's not necessarily a good thing...
The fiery haired bandit's eyes flickered briefly to his friend as he clutched his tessen to himself defensively. A crude grin spread across his face and he eyed the guards with an eagerness to finally work of some of his anger. He sensed the shogun's chi flare up but so far it was defensive.
The bandit pointed the tessen at the approaching guards, wincing slightly as his left arm cried out in pain. "REKKA...Shien!" The flames shot forward in a beautiful dance of death towards the guards.

Kouji was shocked by the blur and when he realised who it was he was even more surprised. "What the Hell is he doing here?" he wondered aloud. "And what happened to him?" His friend was coated in bruises and blood and looking just a tad worse for the ware.
The blue haired bandit's green gaze shot up to Yui now concealed by Nakago's cloak. He gave the shogun an unfriendly look, just let him try to leave with Yui and without him. "This is getting too complicated," he murmured to himself. "Oh great, Genrou's about to toast some guards, that's going to go down well."

Nakago could not have planned it more perfectly. The bandit did exactly what he had wanted him to do to use to manipulate the situation...and...Kouji's "disablity"...His thinking aloud...literaly...was not overlooked. He knew the badly beaten bandit...The perfect thing for seperating him from Yui.
Every horse in the area reared up and back with the sudden explosion of heat and fire...A few of the riders falling off...Nakago Held fast, and controlled his horse masterfully...it was trained to not react to great shocks even in battle...but no training would have prepared these animals for these kinds of things. The targeted guard was thrown from his horse, his armor crispy and black and melted to his skin.
He intentionally did not bar Yui's veiw of all that was going on..he wanted her to see it all. But now he turned his focus on Tasuki. All this time he had been distracte by other things..and now was no different...but in his beaten and broken state...he was still fast as ever..what was sustaining him? Unless....
After he settled his horse...he lifted his fee arm and aimed his palm towards Taskui's arm, the one holding the tessen. A visible blue glow of energy formed in front of his hand, and with a flick of his wrst, went careening for the bandits arm, first to disarm him..and second...to test a theory...

Tasuki sensed the bolt of energy too late and gave a howl of agony as it struck his arm. His tessen clattered to the ground before he could stop it and the flames vanished instantly. "Gods damnit!" he cursed with a wince as he doubled over in pain.
Blood trickled from the bandit's arm and he struggled over what to do. Through his ruined sleeve his red mark, a symbol meaning 'wing' blazed. Grab the tessen and risk another attack or face the shogun with nothing but perhaps his speed to rely on and given his condition that wasn't likely to hold up for very long.

Nakago had expected to see red, and he did......but he had not expected that red...not a glowing red. That did explain a few things, however. It explained the nagging feeling about this character from the start. He cursed himself for being so focused on other things that he had not mearly sensed it before. No wonder he was still standing after all he had been through, and that helped explain the fire throwing as well.
"I should have known Konan would send the Suzaku Seven out to destroy Kutou's envoy."
He lowered his hand slowly.
"It might be best to tend to you now...But the Lady has a friend who is in danger, and we have been held up enough for now."
He snapped his fingers and two of the black clad assassins approached ont thier horses.
"The Lady and I have an engagement in the nearby village, and these two will likely try to get in the way. Occupy them, and if neccessary, restrain and capture them."
Taking Kouji's outspoken comment as a cue, he had just grouped them both together, and thus was able to use that to seperate Yui and Kouji. He pulled the reigns of his horse and turned himself and Yui towards the village, still maintaining his Chi barrier in case he should be able to get past the assassins and attempt a back-stabbing attack.
The two assassins leapt from their horses, their eyes menacing, their smirks hidden beneath the black of thier masks, thier weapons hidden by the black of their cloaks.

Nakago Nakago had expected to see red, and he did......but he had not expected that red...not a glowing red. .
"Come back with Yui!" he shouted as he took out his sword and attempted to give chase. "Genrou, we can't lose that guy!" he shouted to his friend, knowing that his friend would be the only human able to outrun a galloping horse.
'What the Hell attempted to Gernou anyway?' the blue haired bandit wondered to himself with concern as he prepared to deal with the assassins. 'He looks pretty damn beat up.' "gods damnit, he can't get away with Yui," he cursed aloud, "she can't be the Seiryuu no miko!"
