Khenu was smiling at this point. Now this was a story he could listen to. Then then actually counted on his fingers for a minute. "If I'm ten...and you're over five thousand...then...um whoa I'm really little comapred to you aren't I?"

"You look good for your age." He smiled at her. Sure he was only a ten year old but he was still a boy, who had hung around with other boys. He knew when a woman deserved a compliment and said compliment could keep you from being slapped.

Toeing the floor with his boot he let out a breath and shrugged. "So anyway, about the metal. If you want to shape it or anything, you hold it in your fingers and heat it until it's hot to touch then you can do anything with it until it cools again, and it cools fast, I can help if you want, it takes a general series of actions to do it." If there was one thing Khenu sounded grown up when he talked about it, that was it.

He pouted at the mention of the incident. THAT wouldn't be happening again at all. He walked out into the courtyard, removing his boomerang from it’s resting place and took of the guards that kept the potentially deadly weapon from being deadly. Khenu held it up for a moment to the light, but noticed how it didn’t seem to reflect how it usually did. He looked up, seeing what he figured was an overcast.

Khenu looked around the exotic backyard, it seeming somewhat darkened, looking for a target. Trees were out of the question, he didn’t want to repeat that mistake. He cocked his head for a moment, eyes half closing as he seemed to space out, his empathic senses were picking things up again. And the feeling made him uncomfortable like a tension hung in the air.

There was suddenly a crack and an infamous spark went off in his hand, picking up on the metal that he was holding, giving Khenu quite a painful shock, causing him to drop the treasured object into the grass. He let out a little whimper as he looked at his hand.

Looking past his hand he noticed a layer of what seemed like black snow on the ground. His eyes suddenly went wide and he phased involuntarily, ending up just inside the doorway that led to the courtyard, boomerang in hand.. When had he picked that up? He then remembered what had made him phase. That wasn’t snow, it was ash.

The seemingly self generated electricity, seemed to fuel itself and made it's way up his arms, stopping at his elbows as he stared out into the courtyard.

Spending most of the time since what would have been dawn in a half sleep, Saradin was now as ready as he could make himself for what he knew was on its way. He made his way from his room, hoping to catalogue the locations and relative safety of the others, make sure they knew what was coming.

Khenu suddenly shook his head forcing himself from the state he had fallen into. Picking up his boomerang, guards still off, he walked back to the door way and stick a hand out, scraping up some of the ash from the ground. He brought it to his nose, sniffing. Nope, that wasn't normal ash.

"Bastet?" Saradin asked, drawing her attention. "Soon this place will become a war zone. Do what you can to prepare youself, and try to inform the others if you can." He leaned on a wall nearby, trying to avoid eye contact, feeling that his apprehention would be visible in him. "I need to warn whoever else I can."

Bastet whipped around, "Saradin?" Her eyebrows drew together as she felt anxiety in the air, "What do you mean? What's going to happen?" As she asked this, she became alert, trying to heed his warnings that she did not fully understand.

Bastet looked down at Eclipse, "Hey cat chaser, there's a good reason I smell like blood, I lost a lot of it earlier."

"My wife Catherine will be showing up here soon. Right now she's building her force..." He moved over to the door that Khenu stood by, looking out. "Drop the ash..." Saradin warned, then drew back to the topic. "She has lost any will but to destroy me and this place, she now has more power than I believe possible for her alone. She is controling the lesser shadows now, an army that will descend on this place in what may be only minutes..."
