Super Junior's Kim Kibum, "29th Day of Practicing for 1000 days" To become a proper 'actor,' planning on practicing for 1000 days  "We have nothing that we've decided yet. Lately, I have been thinking about how much I have to try in order to become an actor like Choi Minshik, Song Kangho. Kim Kibum had written on his cell phone the word 'actor' up until a little while ago. Now his phone only has the lonely numbers '29th day' written on it. Kibum stated, "Around the time Super Junior started their activities again, people would ask me 'Why do you have 'actor' written in your phone?' and I would reply 'because I started acting since I was little' but honestly calling myself an 'actor' was something I couldn't feel comfortable with." Therefore, now instead of 'actor' it states '29th day' to represent his goal of practicing for 1000 days to be an actor. He now explains the meaning of this in this way, "Everyday I practice my pronunciation and speaking so that when I am finished practicing, I can write 'actor' as my name in my cell phone." At the end Kibum stated, "It's something I've been thinking about all of my life. I'm not really sure how it will go, but I really believe that 'If you can't be the best, then there's no use starting at all.' For now, becoming an actor has held my life at stake so I will do my best to become the best. -Kim KiBum "971 days to become a proper actor"
Having a 'flower guy' face who leaves a deep impression on the first look but idol group Super Junior member Kim KiBum is always a normal person facing the audience. After short drama [Sharp 2], he is once again wearing high school uniform in [Flower Boys Terror Events Series]. Wearing ear piece, having calm thinking or looking far outside the window, he has a special scary but cute character which give the movie another visual effect.
"Usually do not talk a lot but have a lot of thinking." Even if schedule is tight, lying on the bed, thinking of many things, he also needs at least an hour before he can get to sleep. Going on variety shows like [Ya Shim Man Man], he will not get clear of the theme, he will not continue with the topic. In fact, when I was on [X-Man] and [Love Letter], I do not have any confidence in my dance and singing. I felt so tired."
Compared to other children who are noisy, Kim KiBum likes to play alone at a corner when he was young. Although he migrated to America and his character became more lively, he did not have a goal and worked hard. He accidentally found a name card of an entertainment company on the street. He only listened to his friend's advice that "he is born to grow", so he made the call, making his mum worrying for him. Kim KiBum entered into the entertainment world just like that.
"My dream was to become a doctor at first. Having such a dream but I do not work hard." (laughs) In order to become a singer, he went into the company. But he acted in a drama [April Kiss] when he was not even prepared for it. Although he only acted in one episode, the filming took two weeks. During that period, he did not need to do any singing and dancing training. He only took 15 sessions of acting classes for a week. After that time, he really loves acting.
"During the movie premiere, I also said this line, 'My dream is to become a actor'. Although I acted in the first movie, I do not wish to be called a 'professional actor' so easily. I am currently still an actor Kim KiBum. Till last year, my handphone wallpaper was a writing of 'actor', I will feel so sorry every time I looked at it."
Not long ago, he heard of this line "Destiny lies in yourself", means working very hard to achieve your goals. Firstly, he must undergo 1,000 days of vocal training, then he can be considered a proper actor. "I only trained for 29 days till now, there is still 971 more days to go. It is not easy to undergo two to three hours of training everyday."
Ballpoint pen with a obvious teeth mark is one of Kim KiBum's hardworking side. From the start of movie filming, he put a ballpoint pen in his mouth to do vocal training in order to concentrate. Till now, he broke more than 20 pens. Basically it is like breaking one everyday. He will not stop practicing even if his lips and teeth are swollen. He only said shyly "Acting is my life".
"In fact, I am really lazy, not hardworking at all. I need to sleep seven to eight hours. Even if there is only 30 minutes of sleep, I still need to do vocal training. If not, my parents are in America, why should I stay alone in Korea for five years."
Kim KiBum acted as a mature youngster in [Flower Boys Terror Events Series] while he is an "idol" in real life. Half year ago, no matter what, he will call himself an 'actor' but he is 'idol group Super Junior member Kim KiBum' now. The final motive of an actor is to touch the audiences' hearts. But before that, he first must change his own thinking.
"I am so troubled because of this. I must get used to the term 'idol'. I am already 21 years old now, not a kid who can not do anything now. No matter how I count, 1,000 days will not exceed 24 years old. I believe if I work hard towards it, anything is possible, so I accepted this title. Besides, I really enjoyed this title 'idol' now, I can not be one when I am older." (laughs)
