Ryshel was about to retort that none of her men could hold a Jedi of her caliber, but she bit her tongue and merely nodded.

"What can I do to help?" she asked Kadea and Boss. "And is she always like that?" she added, a bit softer so only the two of them could hear.

Kadea listened to all of this, a bewildered look on her face. "Mid...ye...khorl..ants." She attempted to repeat the word. failing miserably.
Her mind whirled, this girl could read her mind, she had powers, she was a peace keeper, Kadea doubted this last part highly. In her land only people blessed by the Shinto god had powers and were oft sent for some devine purpose. She pushed the thoughts to teh back of her mind. Ryshel was right, her hand was still pressed over her arm but blood continues to trickle through her finger tips, down her sleeve were it formed little balls and dripped to the floor, were an already substansial pool existed. She nodded slowly..."All right...I promised you tea...and i still have so many questions?" She said slowly, taking a sharp right hand turn into the medical room. "Come on then...You first." She said pointing to the sole table in the room, she began to gather bandages and herbs from near by storage compartment.

Kadea looked up breifly, "I had never seen a gun until I came to this place. They are most strange, they flash and bite like thunder during a storm. 'I agree, a honorable warrior lives and dies by the sword.'..." She recited the old Samuri psalm. Grimacing she pulled the bullet from the blood wound, she picked up a bowl that contained a strange smelling herbal polotuice she had mixed. "In my time it is against the law for women to carry weapons of any kind. Only Samuri..men... are allowed to were swords. Women are supposed to be demure, obediant, submissive, meek, respectful,....,less...then their husbands." She laughed at the memory. "I guess that never went over to well with me....I was always more on the...rebellious side." She lapsed into silence, tying the bandage around Ryshel's arm gently. She looked up inquistivly "how does that feel?" She questioned, somewere in the room, a kettel bagan to whistle, she hurried to take it off the flame. Her hand shook slightly as she attempted to pour the tea into two small cups, her hand shook so bad that the tea spilt over it and she winced, switching to her uninjured arm. Soon she returned with two cups of herbal green tea in hand, she offered one to Ryshel.

Kadea chuckled slightly, "Just don't say that in front of her." Kadea said jokingly. She was silent fro awhile, her manner becoming serrious. "Cat is very brave, she would give her life for what she has here, I can understand her anger." She looked up and smiled shortly her eyes distant, in memory. Kadea was faraway, her mind in other places, and indeed it was, it was in the past.
"My mother taught me to make this tea." She said softly. "I was born in a small, poor, farming village, in the foothills of the eastern mountains....I remember how the wind used to speak to me, the beauty of the mountains....They told me I was ment to be something more,...more then just a man's plaything." "I remember when they came,..first they burnt the crops, our only source of income, then they burnt the houses....They gathered all the men, my father,neighbor's, brothers and fiance, together...and killed them....I remember they were going to take me along with the other young girls they had choosen. But my mother she took my place. I tried to stop her but, the man he said 'it's either you or the girl'. My mother she told me ' Be brave Kadea, take care of your sister, remember I love you, I wnat you to leave this place Kade, and i want you to never look back, you here me, never look back, I wnat you to go and become the warrior I know your ment to be, and bring this family and village honor.' I remember them riding away with her on teh back of on of their horses, I never saw her again. I gathered my things and my sister and we set out torwars what end we did not know. We eneded up in a mountain village so remote it didn't even have a rode leading to it, and was populated mostly by monks from the local monestary. They raised us well, they taught us to fight for what we belived in." She snapped out of teh memory and colored slightly. "Sorry." She apologized.


Boss walked up quietly behind Cat and put a hand on her shoulder " Don't you think you were a little hard on them?" He questioned gently, attempting to be the voice of reason for once in who know's how many years. He felt her go rigid and tightened his grip just slightly. "Now you wait just a second, this place has always, for as long as I can remember, been a place of refuge for all those who needed or desired it. You brought a bit of danger when you came her too remember, when this gang was still small, and unorganised...." He let the thought rest for awhile. "I asked Kadea to go get you Cat, she wants to get back into her line of work. I don't think she would have gone if I hadn't asked." He said.


Switch stared out over the edge of the building, stories below her was a busy road. She herd a noise behind her and turned slightly. "Hey sweet thing." One of the men behind her said. There was a click and she saw a flash of steel as he pulled out a switch blade knife. "Awful late to be out ain't it?" His partner asked. Switch just smiled and returned to looking at the street below. " I don't think the lady feels like talkin with us Jim." Said the first man. "Well then maybe she'll be kind enough to give us all of her green." Said the second. "And maybe a little something else eh." The first man chortaled eldowing his friend in teh ribs. The second man started to laugh then was abruptly cut off a look of disbelife on his face. Faster then lightning Switch had closed the distance between them, hitting the man in the throat with a three fingered strike. The man choked, staring stunned at her, then fell slowly to the ground. "Hey man back off, back off, I'll kill you!" The other man backed away quickly holding his knife towards her. Without pausing with out even looking, Switch had pulled her pistol from it's holster and had it trained two inches from teh mans head. "Hey....Hey come on....We were just joking....Weren't we Jim....Jim?....Just acouple of kids out for a little fun right....You wouldn't shoot an innocent kid would you." He sputtered looking at his friends dead body with wide eyes. Switch turned her head to look at him, then squeezed. The shot echoed for miles over the cities roof tops. "Your right, I wouldn't shoot an innocent kid....But then again your no innocent either." She said pokeing the dead corpse with the tip of her boot. Sirens wailed in the distance and she walked almost casually to the roofs edge, just in time to see a swat truck pull up in front of the building and men stream out. She checked the cartridge in her pistol, and slid it into it's holster. She half ran half walked to the other side of the roof grabing onto the first rung of the fire escape. She paused just long enough to watch the swat team burst onto the roof, then slid down into the ally below, landing on a idoling, open delivery truck. The driver was just starting the engine and hadn't noticed her, so she slipped quietly into the open back, resting her back and head against the wall, she closed her eyes, feeling the truck move underneath her.

Boss waited until Cat had left the room, before uttering a profain stream of every curse he knew, clutching his wrist. "Okay Kadea....You owe me one." He muttered through gritted teeth draging himself to his feet and to the medical ward.

You all hear a loudspeaker boom through the halls, the people outside are oblivious because years ago, Cat had the walls of the hidout soundproofed.

All who are able, please go to your selected stations, we may be under attack by the Honen Emipire. Reasons for this will be explained later. This is not a drill. Cat out.

Cat put down the pager microphone, and sighed, looking at the observation screen, and taking another good look at the force before her.

Ryshel clenched her fists. "This is all my fault...I don't understand! If I traveled back, or forward, or whatever in time, how can they know who and where I am?"
