Garrat didn't move just yet. "Would it be too much to ask that you return Prince Joseph to his original form?" he tried, this being a final question. This was it. Once he agrees, he will have to marry Rosa, but Nathaniel will be safe. That was all that mattered. He was only doing this for his prince.
It was getting particularly late, and he was sure Nathaniel was worried. Hopefully, Garrat would be allowed to leave after this deal was set. He didn't want to stay away any longer than he needed to.

Garrat looked so funny worrying about everyone else except himself. The princess witch shrugged her shoulders and nodded. " That may be hard to do. I'd need Joseph here before me and I'm not about to chase a flea-bitten mutt all over the woods. But I'll get someone to try and find him and I'll do what I can for him... but right now, just focus on you and me. " she urged her hand again. "You can still try to back out, but if you do, I can't say what consequences would happen.." she sputtered, testing Garrat to see just what he'd do.

The answer almost seemed good enough, but Garrat wondered if there might be another way. He thought over the terms again. So far, it seemed all he needed to do was marry Rosa. There were no other terms that he heard of. Just a commitment, but then he could do nothing with Nathaniel. He would go back to watching him from afar again, this time knowing that the both of them longed for each other. He wasn't sure if he could take it. "Might there be a chance Nathaniel will be spared if I chose to leave the kingdom with him instead?" If the prince was gone, perhaps he'd be out of Manuerva's way. He didn't have to die, right?

His request made Manureva frown. She looked so disappointed now and not even Rosa could really understand why. Sure, she herself, was the main reason Garrat was caught in this messy turnbuckle. She could've chosen any other man, but she wanted him. But.. even after all this, the Duke's daughter found it so charming that Garrat cared more for the prince than anyone else.
"Is that what you really want?" The princess snapped Rosa back to reality when she scowled and walked back to the door, clutching the door handle. The scarlet haired woman didn't like where this was going.

Garrat stood firm. "If Nathaniel leaving this kingdom will keep him safe from you, then so be it, but I must confirm," he said. "It will benefit many of us: Nathaniel won't be able to take the throne from you, he will have the freedom he desired, and I can stay with him. Really, you don't need me in your scheme." Oh, but he needed to take the prince's sickness into account... It shouldn't be something a bit of training can't fix.

The princess's gaze was cold and empty. Then her angry scowl relaxed and she let out an empty soulless sigh. She headed back towards the door and snapped her fingers, but did not open the door all the way to let him out. "Garrat, Every Kingdom needs a King......" she frowned. "But if that's what you want, I will let you go to Nathan..'' she said the name with something in her voice that seemed hidden and shrouded from the the truth.

Garrat knew a lot of time was being wasted, but he was not satisfied with the answer. "Find another man, then," he said. "Just answer this question. Will Nathaniel be safe from you if he leaves? Alive, might I add?" He just wanted an answer to this. "I will finally make my decision once I know for sure." He could not afford any vague answers now.

A smirk formed over her lips and she gave that smart a** pose again. With a 'humph', she crossed her arms. " Fine then.. No. Nathaniel will not be safe. Not now. And not ever again..." It seems that the princess had made her decision about the poor lad. " I'll curse the boy more than a thousand times if you insist on your foolish loyalties! He'll never escape them, either! " Manureva imagined Garrat to look as if he was asking, 'Why? Why do this?' And whether he cared or not, her only response and excuses were, "I do this because I can. Someone must restore divinity in the name of god!" She grinned and snapped again, as if.... Setting something... Perhaps setting up a subtle spell!

Garrat wanted nothing more than to strangle the wench in front of him. Somehow, he had some feeling that he had wasted too much time and Nathaniel was already doomed. "Restoring divinity by dark magic? Don't make me laugh," he seethed, but he had to regain his composure. "Fine then. If it's the only way to save Nathaniel, I'll do what you want." He just hoped nothing had happened while he was asking so many damned questions. The snap wasn't a good sign but he found it unwise to do anything unless he was asking for a death sentence, or worse.

The sun was indeed setting but it wasn't quite dark enough for it be night. And yet, as Manureva was opening the front door, only blackness could be seen. No stars, no sun, not even a sliver of a twilight moon. But when Garrat gave in and agreed, she shut the door and snapped her fingers again with a now happy and excited smile. "Excellent!" she laughed and stepped to Garrat, showing how unafraid of him she was.
Rosa was excited too! Garrat just agreed to marry her, despite knowing that he was in love with the prince! She giggled and ran to nuzzle and cling to his arm. The princess then pulled out a small perfume bottle, handed it to Rosa and then grinned at her new obedient knight. "Very good, slave." she called him. "Now, the first thing I want to do-" she cleared her throat and pointed to the wooden table beside them. "Relinquish all of your belongings in your pouches and pockets upon this table! " She demanded, folding her arms as she waited for him to do so.
Nathaniel was very excited for when Garrat would come back. But now that the sun was beginning to set, he began to worry. A knock came upon the chamber door and because it was locked, no one could step inside, but there was a small compartment door in the wall that was only big enough to fit through hot meals out on a table. The knock made Nathan jump and then run to the door, "Garrat?" he called only to be disappointed when it was Nana giving him a tray of food. "Oh.. uh Thank you, Nana.." he called thankfully but had a hint of disarray in his voice. Before the nanny could leave, the prince called out from the small hole. "Nana, have you seen Garrat?" he asked, "No, Your Highness. I haven't seen him all day. The last I heard of the man, was when he rode off with lady Rosa..." she explained. With that, Nathan frowned but thanked his nanny once again and soon he was alone with his little naked kitten again.

All Garrat had at the moment was his sword, so he set it on the table. Just what did Manuerva plan to do? This was for Nathaniel's sake, he kept telling himself. He was only doing this to protect the prince, and yet it felt like he was betraying him. After all, he was basically betrothed to Rosa now.

Manureva frowned.. and so did Rosa.. when her friend frowned. "Is that really all?" she asked suspiciously. " All your belongings.. even little things like horse shoes, lucky charms... or maybe a certain.. Key" she hinted to.

Garrat had forgotten about that key, actually, as well as the bracelet Nathaniel had given him a few days before (it was something that his beloved gave him, after all). His suspicions rose at the mention of the key in particular and he was tempted to keep it, but Nathaniel's life was at stake, so he took it out of its spot in his pocket. He set down the bracelet first and kept the key lingering in his hand.

The princess grinned and snatched the key in her hand. "Excellent." her voice cooed, pleased. She giggled out loud. "His own room will be his prison.. " she giggled and opened the door to the village. " Now come along, we've got a riot to create.." she hissed with such satisfaction that even Rosa cringed.
In the center of the town, Manureva has taken Rosa's horse and started shouting out to the people. "The King and Queen have lied to you!" she cried! " All of you!'' More and more people gathered in the square, astonished and bewildered to see the missing princess alive and well. " God has never given those two the right to the throne! They stole it!" she proclaimed! Rosa was following slowly behind, her head hung low. Though she smiled, there was little she could do to hide her shame. Of course, with the blonde woman's rants. No one had noticed...
But the rant was enough. This woman declaring for an overthrown kingdom, to the people, was indeed the princess!... Why would she lie to the uneducated working class?
As night fell, the townsfolk began to appear with more numbers.. and torches. Rosa looked to them and mounted her horse, the princess's plan was finally setting into place.. and soon, a crowd of rioting civilians would make their way to the castle gates.

Garrat watched in horror as the people gathered to riot. If the King and Queen were overthrown, what would become of Nathaniel? The knight desired to sneak away and rescue him, take him far away from the chaos, but then he remembered Manuerva's threat.
Already, Garrat regretted his decision to follow her. Even now, he didn't know why she couldn't just find another man! Anyone could have worked, if they only needed a king!
Sneaking away, he took a shortcut to the castle. Surely the nanny had a spare key! Garrat could get Nathaniel out of his room and hide him somewhere, somewhere safe from the riot. Hr didn't trust that the princess would truly keep him unharmed.
