"Do you ever regret what happened? It seems to me that you had it all and then it was snatched from you. Do you ever wish it would have turned out...differently?"

Aura's hand absentmindedly went to her bracelet, fingertips running over it's surface. "In the beginning I did, I hated the world. But looking back, I know that if I hadn't of known such hate, I never would of been given Eclipse. So, no regrets now. I wouldn't trade a happier childhood, or better circumstances for myself, or anything for Eclipse. I'm a better person because of him afterall."

Saradin slowed his petting of Eclipse, sinking into his own mind. Her words rang true for his past as well, though he despised it. Ashamed as he was, Saradin would not trade in his life, his history, or his soul for a chance to undo the damage he had done to a good family. Though, his mind failed to pay notice to the good he had accomplished over many years, lives rescued and souls redeemed. He held his life carefully now, wanting to explore it with his new freedoms, and disturbed by readily he was willing to throw it away many times passed. In his own mind, he was still a monster for these things, putting himself before others, and ignored the call from his sword granting him pardon.

He deliberated it for a minute or so, wondering whether he should so openly spread the facts of his creation. The old memories were biting him with fresh fangs today, the proximity of his latest foe giving them an edge. Eventually he settled on an abbreviated version, trying not to remember so vividly all that happened. "I... was born a killer. In the tortured moments of death for my likeness, I was spawned by nothing but hate. Once I had slain my... self... with his own sword, I turned on his family. From there, his will bound to his weapon, he has protected and guided me through history without any explaination. I am a living shadow, a blot of darkness with a mind."

Nailah lifted an eyebrow. She blew out a breath and looked at Saradin for a long time. "Thank you Saradin. I know that it is painful for you and I want you to know how much it means that you can trust me with your story after knowing me such short a time. Knowing what happened helps put so much into perspective and I understand more of my empathetic sense about you."

Eclipse merely leaned his head against Saradin's knee.

"It's alright Saradin, he's fine...he's sharing with you. You're both composed of darkness, he's just feeling the depths of the bonds he's formed with you. I guess it's his way of talking to you when he can't, or maybe he's trying to."

"And even though I've made him you seem to share an even deeper connection with him than I. One day you'll have to sit me down and tell me exactly what goes on in that head of his.

Giving a flap of his wings Eclipse dispersed his glowing, seeing as it fed off his own energy, which made him slightly tired. He licked Saradin's hand, then laid down on the floor next to his feet.
