Manureva turned to face her captive and pulled her cloak off. She had dispelled of her usual royal dress besides her rings and necklace and wore dark clothing instead. Behind Garrat, the door to outside shut as Rosa shut the door behind her. "Well done, Rosa. Hello, knight. " she scoffed with a sinister grin as Rosa clapped and giggled, attempting hop and loving hold Garrat from behind! She had betrayed him and the words she sweetly spilled before was all just a farce to get him to follow her. The princess covered mysterious concoction and picked a small doll that didn't look like Garrat, but Nathaniel! "Please, knight, you will cooperate with me, won't you?" she chuckled from her throat as she pulled a needle from her dress to point over the doll, using it as a threat. The girls figured that the soldier had some kind of a soft spot for the thing he had to protect the most. However, neither of them could figure how deep their feelings went for each other.
Sitting down, she gave a cocky smile to her captive. "You look surprised to see me, knight. Of course, you're probably still upset that I tried to poison my little brother... You won't hold it against me will you, nave?" she laughed. Rosa was practically drooling over the right moment when her and her knight will be all alone together! At least that's what Manureva promised her.

Garrat ignored Rosa, as there would be no point in showing reaction to her betrayal. He now regretted telling her that he had the slightest care for her. Perhaps he should have expected this, perhaps he should have refused, but it wouldn't change the fact that Manuerva had what could be a voodoo doll of Nathaniel. It might have been better that he was here so the prince's life would not be discarded. "Why did you try to poison him?" he asked in subtle venom. He began to wonder if Manuerva had something to do with Joseph's supposed death as well. "What is your reason?"

Manureva frowned at the knight's persistent question. She thought at first he'd be more concerned about her whereabouts, or maybe even beg for her to put the doll down. "hmph.." she huffed.
" All I wanted was just a clean kingdom. Where the royals would be as clean and perfect as the white marble columns in my room. At first, I figured that since Nathaniel was always the sickest and the weakest, I may as well try to put him out of his misery.... But then I realized it... how close the two of you seem to have come... You're in love with the little black lamb, aren't you?" she sneered with her owe so clever grin. Of course, unbeknownst to the King and Queen, Richard and Hamish figured something close to that about Garret's "preferences" a long time ago, so her deduction was still belated.
Still, she seemed so steadfast about h cruel ways! Rosa was following along with her mainly because Manureva always seemed so confident in everything she did! "I plan on ridding the filthy rats out of the castle and making way for the a more beautiful King and Queen" she said.
" I thought about burning the lot of you, but then I figured, you are just another victim of the Queen's lies, you may as well be spared and used for my plan~" she glanced at the bubbly red head and gave a small signal, to where Rosa suddenly smiled and leaped forward to attempt to cuff Garret's wrist to the door handle!
"I won't let you go unless you answer me one simple question..". the princess cooed.

Garrat stiffened when Manuerva asked if he was in love with Nathaniel. He hadn't expected anyone to pay attention, and he was sure he had been careful about hiding their relationship. His only response was a slightly harsher glare, hopefully unnoticeable to the traitorous princess. Her motivation was also questionable. Whatever she saw as "clean and perfect" certainly wouldn't be so.
Raising an eyebrow at the mention of the Queen's lies, Garrat couldn't help his curiosity. "What could the Queen possibly lie about?" he questioned, pulling his wrist out of Rosa's grasp. "There's no need for restraints. I am not so foolish as to run." He could use this information to his advantage, perhaps. "What question do you have for me, milady?" The title was spoken in venom.

Garrat wasn't cooperating in the way the Princess wanted and her calm exterior was beginning to shift. Her fair and slender face twitched and scowled when he refused to be retained by the other woman. "What could she lie about?!" she repeated in a hiss, "My 'so called mother' has prevented me and my brothers from becoming successors to OUR kingdom!" she screamed, her mood shifting erratically! "Nathaniel is the only one allowed to be King and I'm NOT about to have Sickly little gnat rule my throne!!" She cursed the knight and through the doll at him.
In order to calm herself down, the blonde girl attempted to calm down by leaning over her cauldron. "Answer me this honestly......" she murmured low in quiet tone. "Does Nathan love you..?" she asked

With an attitude like that, the princess wouldn't have made a decent ruler, but the knight refrained from saying so out loud. Garrat did wonder why the Queen would choose Nathaniel, of all her children, to inherit the throne. What did she have in mind? Garrat was rather enraged when Manuerva called Nathaniel a gnat. He couldn't stop himself from uttering the next words: "That so-called 'gnat' is your brother, have you forgotten? It must be crushing to find you are partly a pest."
When the doll was thrown, he caught it and held it gently in case it really did have some influence on Nathaniel's life. Can't have it being damaged, after all.
Garrat became unsure of how to answer the princess now. He suspected that she might use Nathaniel's love to her advantage. The knight might prevent such a thing with a lie, but he was a horrible liar. His attempts might make things worse, but perhaps they were worth a try? "My love has been one-sided for the longest time. Why else would you think I was silent to him for years?" It wasn't a complete lie, so it should suffice.

The princess's fists clenched tightly with Garrat's persistent bantering. "You're an idiot. Don't you understand?! It's not proper! Nathaniel is the only heir to the throne!" he reached down to underneath her cauldron and grasped the handle of a hot branding iron that had the King's insignia on it. The branding end was red, however, and certainly hot enough to burn a mark! She pointed and charged at the knight with it! "My true brother's and I aren't the King's children! " she hissed!
Rosa screamed and ran to hide behind a curtain as Manureva cursed and grew even more hostile! "The cursed wench of woman that is my 'mother', had an affair! Joseph..!" One swing. " Hamish!" another jab at him, " And I!" another lunge at the long haired knight before she growled and paused to take a break, "..... we don't have divine right... " she cursed under her breath.
Before the princess could attack again, Rosa attempted to step in. "W-wait your highness!.. uh.. What about the plan?" she asked, stepping in between to try and protect her 'love'.
The princess gave an annoyed scoff and looked behind her. "right... well, disgusting knight... Since you say Nathan doesn't know about your strong affections, you have a choice to make...." he frowned, pointing her hot iron to the soldier's face.

Garrat made sure to keep his distance, dodging her attempts to strike him. All the while, the words sank in. Nathaniel was the only child of the King...? That may perhaps better explain why he was the only one to have a bodyguard despite his being the youngest.
He warily eyed the brand, half-expecting Manuerva to suddenly lunge at him with it. "Well, get on with it," the knight said in a rather taunting manner. "You've been dragging this meaning for far longer than it needed to be. I have a post to return to." He very much wanted to return to Nathaniel, to warn him about his sister and then take him away to a safe place. Then he remembered something. "Are you responsible for Joseph's disappearance?"

Manureva scoffed, " Don't test me, worm." Referring Garrat's taunts. She took another sigh of distaste, "oh, Joseph... I suppose I should thank him. He was the first to figure the whole ordeal out. But being the lumux that he is, attempted some kind of magic from my spell book and loused the whole thing up.. He ended turning himself into a happy little dog that scampers about the forest all day. " she grinned, " I tried to warn him.. But by the time I got there it was too late.." She shrugged her shoulders and snapped forward again to attack the knight.
" We need you! If you work with us, the boy could be spared. If not, we get rid of the lot of them!" She cursed, Rosa blocking the door with nothing but a broom.

Garrat dodged again. "Hold on! What is it you need me for?" he asked, finding it increasingly difficult to remain calm. He needed to get out soon. Warn Nathaniel and possibly take him away from all this. "Even now, you have not disclosed your plan. Do you expect me to agree to it without knowing of it?" Not like he would cooperate in such a way that she would want anyway.(Been ok. Mostly stress.)

Manureva kept going, she kept charging and lashing out at the soldier until the other woman in the room finally used her voice. "Wait!" Rosa called, the princess sighed and stopped in her place, frowning. ".. We need you to marry me... That.. that's what we want..." she muttered with a quiet and a hopefully sad smile.
The blonde princess huffed and poised herself with her annoyed hand on her waist. Tossing the branding iron to the floor, she finally crossed her arms. "Fine.." she rolled her eyes,
" If you hadn't figured it out by now, half-wit, Rosa fancies you. So, the only way I can see this wretched situation fixed, is if someone with Holy Right, takes the throne. So .."she glared at her friend. " Since Rosa truly has the divinity, if she would become Queen.. she wants you to become King..." the blonde then grinned and stepped closer, "Therefore, if you play your game right, you can become King and gain a proper place in this world....What do you say?"

How odd. Garrat couldn't see what this had to do with Nathaniel or even Manuerva. If anything, the only one who benefit would be Rosa. "I have no interest in the throne nor Lady Rosa," he declared. "Is that all? While the sun is high, I should return to my post." He really had no time for this nonsense. Perhaps the only reason he wasn't leaving right away was because he worried about Nathaniel's well-being.

The Princess frowned and crossed her arms. Rosa looked like she was about to cry. Rolling her eyes, she gave a disappointing sigh and waved Rosa aside as she took the door handle to let the knight outside. "Fine.." She said and held the door closed for one more moment. " you have one last chance... You'll regret it if you're sure about this " she warned...

By now, Garrat was having second thoughts. He had to remember that Nathaniel's life was possibly at stake here. "I have no interest in the marriage nor the throne, but I do want to preserve Nathaniel's well-being," he said. "If I accept, do I have your word that no harm will come to him?" He should probably see to it that Joseph is restored to his original form, but one step at a time.

The princess gave a final grin and another nod to the knight as she still kept her hand on the door handle. "I Promise, Garrat" she told, this being the first time she uses his name ever since he arrived. "No harm will come to Nathan just as long as you cooperate.. " Manuerva stood firm, now seeming very serious as the sun began to set. She extended her open palm to the man, Rosa looking anxious once the blonde woman stepped forward to him.
" So, as I asked before; Do we have a deal?" she purred and awaited a handshake on Garrat's end to "seal the deal".
It was getting late now, Garrat should've been home by now. At least, that's what the prince was thinking. Nathan painted all day of the scenario outside his window again, though he had hoped for an interruption from his friend before he finished. Sadly, he had completed the full thing before anyone came to see him. Nana stopped by bring him his food and that was it. This was probably the oddest and saddest feeling of loneliness he's felt in a long time. Before Garrat and he confessed their feelings to each other, despite the quiet days, his knight was always there.
