The vampire's sensitive hearing picked up on the weakened sound of a heart beginning to slow. Sympathetically, though he bore no expression, Miles gently patted the beast's head.
"You're going to get very tired. These next few moments are going to be crucial. Either you are going to survive the transition completely, and be very sore and weary in the days proceeding or..." Miles paused briefly, deciding to be honest with Tyrell, even though the truth may be difficult to swallow. "Or your heart will stop, and you will die tonight."
The vampire's gloved hand, coated with dry blood from when he was tending to Tyrell's wounds, continued to pet the head of the collapsed form in front of him. "I'll help you through this, you understand. But I'm a doctor Tyrell; I've done this a very long time. Medicine is about experience... and I've learned that there are times when, regardless of what you do right or wrong, some patients just cannot handle the stress."
Miles released a tired sigh. "Do try and be strong. You're too young, far too young, to let this destroy you." The vampires hand continued with it’s slow, informal, elegantly awkward petting, unsure of what the next moments would bring.
