Doing that would cause us to be thrown off our orbital path and after that we'd die anyway. Too far from the sun we freeze to death, too close we burn. It just so happens that we are juuust right in the scheme of things... at least thats what ive read.

Chidugi 1: Ya, I was being silly. We aren't going to make something like that until we at least have another planet to use it on/escape to.

Banshi: Most adaptation is done between generations in a slowly changing environment. This sort of thing would be an apocalypse scenario and the only things that get to adapt after one of those are a few organisms that manage to survive and then fill up all of the empty left by wat is now probably ashes. Maybe it would be cockroaches and ants, maybe just those thermal vent bacteria.

Chidugi 2: This whole evolution thing is another one of those loops leading back to where we began. (That being no life.) Natural selection sucks. facilitated selection is superior by quite alot but we need someone/thing from outside of the process to take the lead. all of that of course doesn't matter when you weigh in the tensile strength of 6 inches of foam rubber coupled with a half inch of packing peanuts, and a completely unbroken circle of candy corn.
