Sachiko had been busy packing the utilities for the next lesson, when she suddenly heard a soft thud from the hall way. She went downstairs, just to find Yoshina busily cleaning the entertainment rooms. "Yoshina", she addressed the younger girl, "when you're done here, would you like me to show you a little around? I still have a little time left and you haven't even seen the gardens yet."

"The gardens? That would be lovely!"
Yoshina quickly finished sweeping the entertainment room. The gardens must be beautiful. I can't wait to see them!
Yoshina nearly tripped from running out of the room so quickly. If I'm going to be a geisha, I really should stop tripping so much! she scolded herself as she went into the hall to wait for Sachiko. She almost called out, but quickly reminded herself to be patient. Yoshina saw no reason to fear Sachiko, but she still felt shy about her new situation. Thus she waited for Sachiko to be ready.

Sachiko didn't take long, before she was ready and went to the hallway. She had to smile again, when she saw Yoshina's eagerness. She still remembered quite well being so excited about everything being new. "Let's start with the vegetable garden. Although we're not quite many at the moment, there's still a lot to be done there so you might want to know the ropes quite well. Then we can go and see the flower gardens."
((OOC: Don't worry, you're doing fine. And in case you wouldn't know, what else to clean - remember, there's still the laundry to do and the vegetables and fruit to pick and Okaa-san might want some tea and so on... wink ))

Yoshina hoped her excitement didn't betray her when Sachiko mentioned the flower gardens. "Very well. Perhaps I will care for that next since the rooms are clean." I'm sure even the vegetable garden is very beautiful.
"Forgive me," Yoshina said quickly when she realized her excitement betrayed her. "I...I just enjoy looking at flowers, that's all. But I'll try not to let them distract me."

Sachiko showed Yoshina a little around the gardens, then proceeded to the stockrooms. "This is where everything is stored, whether it is groces or laundry. That reminds me - I will show you where the laundry is done and then I'm afraid I have to go. When we're through here, you should probably ask the cook if she needs anything from the gardens, since you know by now, where they are." She took a quick look a the clock. "Dear me, we have to hurry."

Yoshina was absolutely captivated by the beauty of the gardens. She had loved flowers ever since she was small and the explosions of color touched her deeply.
Yoshina nodded at the stockroom. "I see. I will ask the cook after I see where the laundry is done. Thank you for showing me those beautiful gardens."
She halfway ran after the maiko to the stockrooms. "Do you have an appointment, Sachiko-san?"

Sachiko slowed down her pace a little. "Actually, it is not exactly an appointment, but my dance class starts in about 15 minutes and I don't want to be late." she replied.

Yoshina nodded understandingly, wondering what kind of dancing Sachiko might be learning.
"I appreciate your kindness and would not want you to be late because of me," Yoshina said aloud as she continued to follow Sachiko. "Would it be better if I asked the cook where the laundry is done?"

"No, it's perfectly okay. We're halfway there anyway." Sachiko replied. "See the barn over there? It's just behind there."

Yoshina squinted in the sun and followed Sachiko's gesture to the barn. "Yes, I see it."

"Okay, I'll leave you then. Just continue straight past the barn and you'll be there." She smiled over her shoulder as she already turned around. "There's not to much to do at the moment anyway, so you don't need to hurry. Have a nice day." She waved briefly and hurried to her lesson.
((OOC: Sorry again that I took so long. I seem to be always on the road these days.))

((OOC: No problem - I've been out of town, searching for a job, and need to start seriously planning a wedding... sweatdrop ))
Yoshina smiled and waved as Sachiko left. "Thank you! Enjoy your lesson!"
When Sachiko was out of sight, Yoshina turned and walked towards the okiya's kitchen, feeling happy in her new life. Sure, the work was hard, but everyone seemed approachable and looking at Sachiko made Yoshina more ambitious to become a maiko.
When Yoshina found the cook, the cook was brewing a pot of tea. "Did...um..." The cook turned around at Yoshina's studdering. Yoshina averted her eyes, shuffling slightly. "Sachiko-san told me to ask you if you needed anything from the gardens?"
The cook shrugged. "Just bring in whatever's ripe," she said simply.
With a nod, Yoshina took a basket and raced back into the gardens. When I do become a maiko, how am I ever going to entertain men if I am so nervous around new people?

Yoshina had just finished bringing in several basketfuls of ripe vegetables when she leaned against the outside wall of the okiya to catch her breath.
"That took a little longer than I thought," she whispered to herself. A smile crossed her lips as a butterfly flitted before her a few moments, then disappeared onto the horizon.
"I'd better not be idle too long...I don't want to make Okaa-san cross."
With a breath of resolve, Yoshina glanced towards the barn again. "I need to remember to do that as soon as I check the fruits for what is ripe."

Yoshina found a few basketfuls of ripe fruits in the orchards. After bringing them to the cook, she wiped more sweat from her brow and stood still for as long as she dared to catch her breath.
"Okay...Sachiko-san mentioned the laundry..."
Yoshina arrived to find a rather large stack of laundry. It was obvious that the pile had been unattended for a considerable amount of time.
Although the laundry was not going to be easy, the washing water was oddly cool as she got started.
