She left it at that, seeing that there was no point in continuing. Sia unfolded her wings, stretching them as far as they would go. She remained in her demi Falcon form, for it made it easier to rescue Kiva if need be. Before taking flight, she paused and turned to him. "Are you able to make the journey, my love?"

"I should," he replied, changing. He furrowed his eyebrows, concentrating. There was something strange in his shift now. Now, rather than a coat of pure black feathers, it was a light brown and the underside a pure, untouched white flecked with spots of brown while his tail was striped with grey. There were twin stripes across either beak, and the crown of feathers that rested atop his head was a pale brown as well. He ruffled his feathers, not really seeming any different, and took flight after Tynan.
Tynan glanced back, actually stopping up short at the sight. You... you're a saker falcon?!

Sia's mind was at ease as she saw him take slight almost effortlessly. The sight of his odd colored feathers did not come as a surprise to her, though she was enjoying the fact that Tynan was in shock. She thrust her powerful wings and quickly caught up to them.

You can't be... The only lineage to hold the Saker Falcon form was... Eldritch line... direct descendants of the first of the Empress's Mercy...
Kiva just chuckled in his mind, shaking his feathers. Shall we go?

Eldritch? Sia thought, to herself. Now she was just as shocked as Tynan, if not more. She used to play with some of the Eldritch fledglings, when she was small. She had seen Kiva's Falcon wings before, and knew the colorings looked familiar, though she hadn't considered that he could be of the Eldritch line. Sia cleared her thoughts, flew past Tynan and then paused, looking back at him over her shoulder. "I suggest we get a move on. The Empress won't be pleased if you delay us any further."

Tynan nodded numbly, turning to continue his flight. He could not get that fact out of his head. The Eldritch lineage was thought to be dead...
Kiva flew ahead with Sia, pausing to look at her. I'm sorry I didn't tell you... Kael and I had promised on mother and father's deathbed not to tell anyone, so we sealed away our forms in our mind... I suppose you remember when you played with us when we were young, don't you?

Sia blinked at him, continuing to fly. It's alright... I understand. She said, trying to work everything out in her mind. I do, I remember. But I was told that you both died of the same illness as your parents. Sia was beginning to wonder just how much of what she had been told was true. Her mother had grown used to hiding the truth (in her mind) and replacing it with she wanted young Sia to believe.

I... Was all Sia was able to say in reply. Tears welled in her eyes and she turned her face away from him.

Please don't cry, Sia, he whispered, flying to her side and shifting forms so he cradled her in his arms. I don't want to see you sad... so I never told you...

She refused to look at him, even as he cradled her. "You should have told me." She said weakly. You could have died already and I wouldn't have known what had happened. Except maybe to find out later, by a healer. Sia squeezed her eyes shut and wiped away her still flowing tears. You keep to many secrets... Despite her being frusrated with him, she laid her head on his chest, sighing against him. She was so glad that she had not yet lost him.

I love you too. I wish you could accept my fate as easily as I do... but... it does not make the thought of parting with you any easier, Kiva said, sighing. But perhaps the Empress can heal me...

I'm afraid, for me, it's much more diffacult than that. Sia said, thinking of how she would get by when he was gone; she wouldn't. When she had finally found her soul mate, he was to be snatched from her by death. Perhaps... Was her reply.
