Meanwhile, in his own tent, the tall man sat deep in thought. What could this mean? Was it possible the bolting horse had been followed? These were the questions that haunted him. They only added to his current troubles, most of which he kept from the others. It wouldn't do for them to be worrying too.

if they started to worry, word might get out and the entire village may undergo fear ... he definitly didn't want that. The man laid in his bed lost in thought and soon fell fast asleep

The tall man rose with the sun, his yawns testifying to the quality of his few hours sleep. He exited the tent, his clothes having not been removed since the day before. He couldnt help but take a deep breath, relishing the fresh morning air. One must enjoy every moment, for it may be his last. His old mentor's words echoed through his mind, as he walked quickly towards the medic's tent where the wounded man lay.

As he exited the thent, he realised something: there was no one moving in the whole camp! He quickly glanced in every tent, and each one looked the same: empty! There was no sign that anyone left in a hurry, it was like they just disappeared! Then he saw her... sitting in the middle of the camp. Just sitting there on the ground. He walked up to her and asked her name, but she did not speak. She only looked at him and shrugged. He noticed the chill in the air and decided that no matter what happened, waiting to investigate would not hurt, and he knew somehow that this girl had something to do with the vanishing of his men. But she wasn't about to talk. She shivered and he got a blanket from his tent for her and started a fire to cook over.

The fire snapped and sparks flew as the wet wood began to take flame. the girl gazed into the fire without saying a word. The blanket had fallen from her shoulders, but she didn't seem to care. She just sat there in the warm sunlight shivering.

He handed her a cup of water and sat across from her ... staring intently at the girl. what could have happen to the others and left this one unknow girl behind? he thought. Suddenly, i gust of strnog wind blew by and turn the fire out ... he started to feel light headed and suddenly fainted, falling to the ground. He last saw the girl doing nothing but smile.

There was silence in the cold stone room. The musky air smelled of decay and human filth. She couldn't see, and the coarse rope cut into her wrists. There were few sounds in the darkness, the dripping of water in the distance and the muffled breathing of mouths shut by cloth gags. She had to think quickly and figure out what happened. Her memory was a hazy, nothing made sense. She was helping close the wounds of the man how came into the camp. Then the wind started and everything went black. Someone near bye gave a pained grown. She started twisting her hands, the ropes cutting into her flesh. She forced her palms together and the twined her fingers into the appropriate position. She closed her eyes, though there wasn‘t anything visible to distract her, and began to concentrate. Her mind opened to the presence of the others in the room. There weren’t many, all familiar, and none were in desperate need of her talents.

As he regained his senses, the Tall Man ((we really need a name for this dude...)) tried to hold his pounding head but found his hands tied behind his back. As his eyes adjusted to the dark room, he could see figures lying on the stone floor around him. His men. flicking a small blade from his sleeve, he sliced through the ropes and massaged the feeling back into his sore hands.
