He didn't think that had anything to do with it.

"Why should I be nervous about seeing Himawari-chan? She'll just laugh no matter what I do. I- I'm afraid of people, remember?"
After all, anyone who thought you were crazy was bound to treat you badly. Seeing and attracting spirits was worse than just that.

He was completely aware of the fact that Doumeki never needed to worry about bullies (emotional or otherwise). At a young age, when the boy was weak and always dressed in a girl's kimono, he was kept in the shrine with his grandfather.
Now he had his own fanclub, and anyone that disliked him kept his mouth shut- especially since he could beat nearly anyone; even if he lost, so many people would back him up his attacker would be screwed.
Watanuki wasn't so lucky.

"You won't need to worry while I am around," he added when seeing Watanuki's face, as if he knew what the other boy was thinking. And he kind of did, considering they had had this exact same conversation before, and he remembered what Watanuki had said last time.

"I know." He wasn't worried about when Doumeki was around- anyone would be stupid to try anything then. But Doumeki couldn't be around all the time.
Watanuki didn't care how many times they had that conversation (verbal or not) because it didn't change anything.

((OOC:Should we play Kunogi until we get someone else to play her? We have a Yuuko already, but that is it.))
Doumeki shrugged, wrapping an arm around Watanuki's waist as he continued the walk down the all-to-familiar route to school. They walked on until they reached the corner where they had met up with Kunogi some days during the last school year.
He stopped, looking around. It was a nice day, a little breezy, but still nice. He could see other students walking in the direction of the school, some stopping to glance at the two men as the walked by.

Watanuki shifted uncomfortably, cheeks blazing as he lowered his eyes, not wanting to look at his schoolmates.
It was hard to missinterpret the hold Doumeki had on him, after all.

Himawari was walking toward the school, a slight bounce in her walk. She swung her school bag as she neared the corner where Watanuki and Doumeki stood, most likely waiting for her.
She smiled brightly at the pair and said, "Good morning Watanuki-kun, Doumeki-kun, how was your break?"
Then she noticed Doumeki's arm around Watanuki. Odd, Watanuki wasn't angry about that? They really were great friends. It was nice to have friends.
Doumeki nodded in acknowledgment, looking down at Watanuki who was staring at the pavement.

He smiled as he saw her, ducking under Doumeki's arm to go greet her properly. "I'm doing well. Our break was- eventful. How are you and the bird, Himawari-chan?"

Himawari smiled brightly, her eyes closed as she tilted her head slightly to one side, "We had fun, Tanpopo and I! Thank you for asking Watanuki-kun, you are always so thoughtful!"
Her eyes opened once more, and she tilted her head back to it's original place, looking over at Doumeki, "What happened during break? Are you two?" She was pointing between the two of them now.
Doumeki nodded, without elaborating.

Watanuki crossed his arms defensively, giving her a lukewarm smile.
He wasn't sure if it'd be better to be in or out of their class anymore. If they weren't in the same class, at least he'd be able to concentrate, but...
Anyway, no matter what at least he had someone to eat lunch with most days, even if the home-ec teacher had asked him to help out sometimes during club hours. They were lucky to get to use the cooking lab, making themselves all sort of things for lunch. He'd never been very good at refusing authoritative figures, no matter the request. (Therefore Yuuko, though there were other reasons for it).
"Shall we go then?" he asked quietly, inclining his head towards the school.

Himawari's face now looked a little concerned, "Are you alright, Watanuki-kun? Are you sick?"
