GBKeroberos Regarding what someone said about bringing your DS: I saw a bunch of people with DSes, but no one was in Pictochat. [face_plain] Eh - really? Because every time I was in PictoChat there were at least five people. But I guess it depends when and where (for me it was waiting in lines for the Exhibit Hall to open).

I saw plenty of DS users on Pictochat in the gaming console room/Mariott.
I need a DS.. or a PSP. Either one. xp

The gaming room was hella crowded when they did the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. I think 160+ people were in that tournament. Luckily my brother knew some of the staff members so it was cool how I got to stay in the back where the staff was (in other words, where it wasn't crowded). =)

Duran's 4 Main rules for AX
1.) If you plan on spending a lot of money, make sure to being roughly $1,000.
2.) If you want to save money on eating, buy a crate-full of inexpensive food (Ramen, Instant food, etc), if you DO plan on eating ramen, make sure its the Cup/Bowl packs and also make sure you have a portable water-heater.
3.) If you're wearing a GOOD costume, be prepared for many photo ops.
4. NEVER FORGET YOUR BADGE!!!

5. If you do not have a portable water heater. The hot water faucet in the bathroom, if left on enough is a good way of getting good, clean, HOT water to heat up your noodles.
Or in the Marriot, the starbucks may give you a cup of hot water.

Lu's Guide to dealing with emotional cosplayers. ((Made for pre day/day of. Before you actually enter AX)) 1. If you are a non cosplayer, and are going with a group of cosplayers, some may get very emotional and strike where it hurts, whether it be physical or mentally. Give them space because they have been trying to prepare to make everything as perfect as they can. and you coming in trying to make amends usually wont help unless you have like amazing sewing skills...
2. If your group does decide to split up. Make sure there's a time and place where you can meet up either periodically, or at one time so you can all swap stories and go to dinner as a group.
It also helps keep stress down on trying to find them. ((I know this from personal experience... It killed this year for me..))
3. GET PHONES OR WALKIE TALKIES!!! I cannot stress this enough.. even if this is posted before. It cannot be stressed enough.. Keeping in touch with your group is an important thing to do.. ecspecially if you go in a carpool or do not have a room key.
4. Other people have posted the basics... If you're new I advise you read their guides...

When bunking with a large group, room keys should be given in the following order: a.) "Room Leaders" (People who made the room reservations). b.) Those who will be in the room and going to bed the earliest. c.) Anyone who plans on staying up late...and I mean LATE!!! My room had 10 people, and 4 keys...and it all went like clockwork! 3nodding
