You know, small children can be brainwashed to do all your chores for you if they think you're cool enough. It's times like these when I'm thankful I have two sisters who've taken the role of "the responsible one"--the first is responsible in the sense of "most likely to take it upon themselves to do housework" and the second is "apt to take responsibility for everything that goes wrong." Dancing through life has never been so easy. The downside is that sometimes my mom forgets my name.

This Isn't Mine sounds intriguing. Until someday!

That's what a lot of people tell me....and yes, they will do anything I ask them to do, and they always do it with a smile......

Which is why I never ask them to do much for me....I feel guilty for taking advantage of their love for me.

And they're so small....so when they ask me to play with them, I'm always super careful......because I'm, like, a giant compared to them, and I could hurt them.

I think they're so nice to me because I'm like the big sister they never had. I'm always teaching them to be responsible and do all sorts of good things...and to stop being lazy...I'm a female Sportacus, I guess.

Except I tell them to learn from my mistakes so they won't end up like me, or worse.....my uncle Billy. I take after him, I think....because I'm always just...odd. I procrastinate, too, and I make a lot of mistakes. I'm also like a big, cuddly teddy bear.....I'd never harm anyone intentionally, and I forgive easily. And I'm always letting my brother do things he shouldn't, like eat candy and play with dolls (which he loves to do, but Dad doesn't let him because it's "too girly").....and I get him ice cream and lots of toys with thousands of parts that he can mess with......
I'm pretty much my uncle. He was always the cool uncle....he took me everywhere, played games with me, bought me lots of stuff, and let me do a lot of things my parents wouldn't. The only difference between us is that he lives in a trailer (he's the nomadic type) and picks his nose.....and I don't.

I looked up to him the way the kids in my neighborhood look up to me....and it feels good to be there for them when their parents can't be. I mean, I live in a not-so-good area, and a lot of parents around here don't pay much attention to their children....so some of them turn out to be really mean teenagers that drink, smoke, and do all sorts of drugs....just like their parents. I've seen it happen. It happened to a lot of the kids I went to elementary school with, and I don't want it to happen to these kids.

Hmm. Your mom forgets your name? I wish people would forget my name. I hate it. Especially my last name....

My first name is too....girly. So I shortened it to Sam....but I have 38792837592375 nicknames that I go by, too.

My last name is a type of pickle.

You can see why I hate it......though oddly enough, it's also my favorite type of pickle... xDDD

"This Isn't Mine." is my new favorite writing project. (I call the stuff I write "projects" because they take up all of my time, and they end up being huge.....plus, I work on them without sleep and give myself deadlines I never keep to...)

I made Jives a complete....well, pardon my French....but I made him a complete armadillo-hole. (Heh. Seems I can't get rid of my habit of not cursing....but I love coming up with new words to substitute them, because the sentences always end up getting me strange looks from people, and that's always fun.) I don't know why. I just did. But it works, because it gives Trixie something to get pillowed-off about, since she doesn't have Stingy to yell at (because he's with Ziggy).

Pixel gets angry very easily...and this makes Stephanie mad, too....though she's supposed to be the person that ends the fights, especially the ones Pixel and Stingy have.

Stingy is very unstable, and can't handle a lot of pressure and stress.

Ziggy is very sensitive, and he's the type that won't let go once he loves someone.

Robbie becomes a nicer person. Or, rather, a wiser and more helpful person. He's not nice, but he helps out Stingy a lot because Stingy reminds him of himself when he was that age.....and his knowledge about Stingy's problems surprises everyone. He's still lazy, though.

Sportacus never makes an actual appearance in the story. He's mentioned a lot, but he never shows up.

It's a fun story to write, even though it's very serious and filled with conflict. Maybe I like it because it's serious.

My writing always reflects what I'm feeling at the time. When I'm feeling down, I usually write someone's death scene, or have a character contemplate suicide, or something equally morbid. When I'm happy, I write really fluffy love scenes. And so on.

Oh, and I'm ungrounded....I only had to clean the kitchen, and two hours later, I got the cord back. I just didn't feel like getting back on until now.

Kaiba, it's fine--I do things like that sometimes, too. It happens. I forgive you. -huggles-

Yeah, I know I need the æ. That's what I meant to put....but I didn't feel like it.

xDD Nice job.

I think I'm going to write some songs while I clean my room.....

.....perhaps I'll work on "Paper Towel Boy". Or "Homicidal Teddy Bear".

Don't worry, I'm okay...my arm got crushed a little, but I can type with the other one, no biggie.

I have kids who'd do my bidding a lot too, and I do take advantage of it. A lot. I think I might not have a conscience. Like if they can't think of a game to play, I suggest we go on an expedition to buy me a slice of pizza with the money they fish out of the change dispensers in vending machines. And then my responsible-sister-who-has-three-jobs-and-always-does-the-right-thing-and-donates-all-her-work-money-to-help-starving-children-in-Africa tells me to stop being a selfish snotrag and to start acting my age.

But I got the pizza anyway, so that's besides the point.

My name's girly-sounding too, but I don't have too much of a problem with it. I mean, nobody at school gives me any trouble for it, so it's probably something that I just notice myself and nobody pays much attention to. And that's probably because my mom forgets it so much. Forgetting names must be contagious.

You should probably post links to these writing projects here, or make an official thread for them, since they're all Latibær-related. Or update the thread you've got. I think you're right about Stingy and Robbie. Now I'm surprised they don't get along better in the actual show. Every time I try to write anything, serious or otherwise, it always turns into a comedy. I guess it's a gift. Or a curse. Ah, whatever.

Funny thing is, I never really paid much attention to Stingy till I started roleplaying him, and now he's my favorite character. Go figure. I love his UK voice to death, and I think they should use it in the states.

Oh...I made a wall too! Or maybe a quasi-wall. One of those little walls that are only really good for sitting on outside, or balancing on, and then your parents yell at you for climbing them at all.

Hooray for the midget text-walls!!!

They're....FANTASTIC!! 8D

Thread-s. Plural. Because I have two. xDD

I just don't use them at all, because I never update anymore.....

And that's really all I ever post about on them--update info and chapter descriptions.

I have one new writing project that's semi-LazyTown-related....

Haven't decided what to call it yet, but I'm thinking of either turning it into a novel, or putting it into the book of short stories I'm making. Depends how long it'll be when it's finished.

I say semi because it has absolutely nothing to do with LazyTown, but two of the main characters are somewhat reminiscent of Stingy and Ziggy in appearance. If it would ever be made into a movie, I think I'd cast Shia LaBouf as Nathan.....or maybe Drake Bell. And Zack would be....well, I dunno. There aren't many good blonde male actors that would fit the part. My friend suggested Freddy Prinze Jr., but I dunno....

Anyways, that's a long way off from now if it ever does happen, which it won't....never in a million years. Besides, Shia won't look good in drag. Drake, maybe, with some makeup.....but not Shia. And none of them would ever want to make out with each other.....ever.....unfortunately.

Nathan is the one that looks like Stingy. He's very poor, and he has to sort of bounce from place to place around the city because he can't get a good job, and his music career never took off (he sings and plays the keyboard). He secretly loves to dress in drag, and he is most definitely not straight. His name when he's crossdressing is Natalie, and Zack falls in love with...her.

Zack is the one that looks like Ziggy (the one we draw, not the TV version). He's sort of a farm boy, I guess....that's where he's from, and his parents own a farm....but he's staying in the city for reasons I haven't yet decided. I can't really define his sexuality, but when he finds out that Natalie is really Nathan in drag, he gets a little uncomfortable.....though he does get over that discomfort eventually.

So.....yeah. This is a love story, obviously....

Maybe I'll post something when I've finished parts of it, if you'd like.

Oh, and Mya requested StingyxRobbie.....so if I ever get around to writing a fanfic like that, I'll post something about it.

Stingy's my little brother's favorite character, oddly enough....and he's begging me to make that costume for him someday.

Once, my brother read some of my StingyxZiggy when I wasn't in my room....he told me that a little while ago. When I asked him how he thought it was, he said he liked it....

And he's, like, six. He and his friends are the type of children who go around saying "this is gay", "that's gay", "you're gay", etc. It's strange that he liked my story when he says that word in such a negative way.....it's just a little kid thing, I guess. And no, he doesn't know about my sexuality. If he did, he would either make fun of me or beat up anyone who tried to......

I didn't mean for him to see it.....my notebook was just sort of lying there, open.

It happens. But I'll make sure it doesn't happen again, especially since there are lemony bits.....

I love Stingy's UK voice. He IS a prince. xDD Sorry.

I love those little midget walls.....they make nice spots to sit on and write stuff.

You know....I forgot what I was originally saying, if I was trying to say anything at all.....

Eh. It happens.

I'm going to hop off my wall now and go see if if someone's responded to my MySpace bulletin requesting band members......I FOUND A KEYBOARD PERSON. MMMMMM KEYBOARD. I need one for "Homicidal Teddy Bear".....

I don't know, billboards are usually pretty huge, bigger than most walls, if I recall correctly. The standard US billboard is about 14x48 feet, and I didn't write that much.

........you guys are just plain special.

><;; A certain lady friend of mine is either pretending to not know what I'm talking about, or is having one of those dumb blonde moments.......

No offense to any blondes, like myself.......because...I'm blonde.....but don't mind making blonde jokes directed towards myself.....

I'm not blonde intelligence-wise, though. Definitely not.

I wrote something that only she would understand......and she doesn't understand it.....

It's just another one of those things, I guess.

I won't be back for another few days......can you guys keep it alive without me while I'm gone?

I have to go. I'm not supposed to be on right now.

SHE'S BAAA-AAAACK.............................................

*ahem* Yeah, that's all I could think to say.

But I'm ungrounded now--the "one week....and then some" is up.

I managed to live through it, yay.

And I think I'm going to start making videos again. Yeah, with THAT camera. The one I brought to Otakon. I filled up the remaining time on that tape with commentaries, kitty things (mostly me trying to get Molly to do something cute), shoes, spazzing friends, Laurel's eating habits, and so on.

Really, it's just a whole lot of crack. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

I got my friends at Summer Bridge to die inside when I showed them that part with Laurel eating....

If she eats anything, like ice cream, or even a baked potato, it will be everywhere in five seconds. She's my age, by the way. Yeah.

Summer Bridge is over, thank goodness......

But school starts on the 27th of this month, so I'm totally screwed......

Pardon my language, I'm not having a good week.

Olive considers me her friend again. Yay. And Taylor and Marie don't hate me, either. My original friends are back.

So things are all back to the way they were before, I suppose. Things are good.

Or better, I should say......there's still so much stress I want to explode.

I only have five days to finish Neil and Emmy's gift....and I'm working on four other stories on top of that, plus fanfiction and more fanfics that people are requesting.
And then there are those songs, and music videos.....
And finding band members....

And still, there's a lot more.

Again, it's so much that I feel like I'm going to explode.

So I'm doing okay, but I'm still extremely busy.

I'm trying to finish as much as I can in five days. And I have two extra days if I can't finish it.....Neil won't mind; he said so. And his sister is very understanding.

Meeeeep. Wall of text.

Well, I'm going to go see if that "certain lady friend" finally understands what I'm trying to tell her.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. This place kind of went...er...somewhere. Must be everyone starting school. I never had to start school in August--it always started in early September. Still does, actually, even though it's a different school than before, even though the word "before" is relatively subjective.

Anyway, I saw Wicked about a week ago and now I've got all the songs stuck in my head. Not that they weren't there before I actually saw the show or anything...they're just...er...more there. Now I've decided to go dress up as the Wicked Witch of the East for Halloween, after she gets the house dropped on her. Wait, did I just ruin the play? *Mentally runs through the scenes* Nope, I think everyone who hasn't seen it's still good. cool But maybe I should shut up in case anything else accidentally slips out...

I've always wanted to get into video making myself, but I've never figured out what program to use after hooking the camera up to the computer. So I've got loads of footage on this camera I've got, and I have no idea how to get it onto DVDs, and the instruction book makes about as much sense as you'd expect a technical instruction book to (which, in case you've never read an instruction manual for a computer or similar piece of equipment, is not very much sense at all). I know it's a digital camcorder, because that's what it says on the box and in the book, so since it's digital it must have some way of getting onto my computer...why can't technical people just print their manuals in plain old English?

I've also always wanted to make AMVs, but that's another thing that's somehow eluded me for the past five years. The main thing that's getting me is finding the footage to use in the videos. How do people do it? Do they just steal it, or rip it off of actual DVDs? And what about video games? Is it all emulators and do the people actually play through these games on their computers? And then how do you edit the footage you get with the emulator? Somehow I have a sinking feeling that I'm just overcomplicating things, because I've seen some AMVs that look like they were slapped together by grade schoolers online.

And one more thing that just popped into mind now: What exactly are those little white things in potting soil? It's not dirt, and it's apparently biodegradable, so it couldn't be styrofoam, could it?

I think my text wall's getting bigger. Maybe someday it'll be able to hold its own. Ah well, time to go play some DDR!
PostPosted: Wed Aug 22, 2007 8:29 pm

School never used to start in August. The school system here decided to change it for some reason the year before last, I think....I don't remember.

I saw Wicked in....April? March? I think it was March. I took Taylor with me because she was reading the book and was fangirling over the soundtrack....she hadn't actually seen it, but she wanted to, so I figured I'd be a good friend and take her with me.

I used to have "What Is This Feeling?" stuck in my head all the time at school...and it stopped when summer started for some reason.

Oh, look. It's back again.

Yeah, I've never put camera footage on my computer before. I've only made videos with pictures....and even then, I never posted them.

I think that the stuff is ripped from the DVDs. That's what I've been told....but they didn't explain it further.

Actually...most AMVs are slapped together by grade schoolers online.

Isn't that funny?

The little white things in potting soil.....Hmm.

I think they're vermiculite....or perlite. Or possibly some sort of time-release fertilizer. The people on the gardening websites can't seem to agree on what they are.

I pay attention to the oddest things myself...and then I go out of my way to find out about them. I always wondered what those little white things were....and now I've actually looked it up because you asked. I'm still not completely sure, though.

Oh....most people seem to think it's time-realease fertilizer or perlite. Here's something I found on Yahoo that says it's perlite:

"PERLITE is volcanic lava that's expanded by heat. It is a 'natural way' to loosen heavy soils to allow maximum root development, drainage and aeration.
By itself it may also be used as a propagation medium. I use it for propagating begonias (from leaves) as well as for various other propagation projects when a 'glass of water' or commercial potting soil will not suffice as a propagation medium.
Perlite is available on the market in many sized packages from 8 Dry Quarts (or less) to enormous bags that (although very light) would barely fit into a car trunk.
Be advised: it is said in certain cirlces that the dust from perlite (and vermiculite) are potential carcinogens when inhaled.
Also:
- planting mix and potting soil are two different items with separate uses
- both planting mix and potting soil seldom (if ever) contain any actual soil
- be cautious when purchasing both as they may contain sludge (from waste treatment plants)."

Did any of that help?

Hmm. I think I'm going to play ToonTown or something now.....I'm really bored. Oh crud, tomorrow's Neil's birthday....oh well. I'll send it in a few days. It needs a few more chapters.

I sang "What is this feeling" with my roommate all year last year. That's the way to tell if you got stuck with a good roommate--if they know all the words to that song, regardless of any other annoying habits they may or may not have, they're all right. Unless, of course, they're a better singer than you are. I always got to be Galinda because I could get the notes, but since Elphiekins couldn't figure out anything other than the melody, I wound up switching parts a lot to get the harmonies right. razz

I definitely thought the musical was way, way, waaaay better than the book was. It was like they took all the boring parts out of the book and replaced them with catchy songs. Worst part of it was I'd memorized parts of the dialogue in the play and I just used it in everyday conversation. And nobody ever noticed, except when I tried to turn my perfect, responsible, hardworking sister into a scarecrow using the first couple of lines of "No Good Deed." She just got really, really annoyed and told me if I wanted to obsess over the play that much to go paint myself green or something. I don't know about that, but I kind of want to buy a cheap doll at a dollar store or something and paint that green instead.

Having "What is this Feeling" stuck in your head isn't as bad as getting "One Short Day in the Emerald City" stuck in your head during a St. Patrick's Day parade/party/event thingy. Oh, if you ever get the chance, take a trip to Savannah, Georgia on St. Patrick's day. It's like actually GOING to the Emerald city. Plus they have overpriced candy that's pretty much composed entirely of butter, sugar, and nuts (also dyed green for your viewing pleasure). You could also try getting "Popular" stuck in your head, but that one may be a bit too sugar-coated for your tastes.

I kind of had a feeling my hunch about grade schoolers posting AMVs was right. I should resort to petty video clip theft more often and show them something worthwhile.

That, and I'll make sure I don't inhale any perlite anytime soon. Or ingest it. Not that I do those things on a regular basis, mind you, but in the event the offer were to come up...wait, I WOULDN'T be eating that stuff anyway. Or buying it in bulk.

I played ToonTown once, and it was a lot more fun than it had originally sounded. Now whenever I tell my friends I'd played it, they think I must have been completely out of my mind. I thought the cogs were interesting...
