No, because he's a genius and I don't think he'd be stupid enough to try and kill the world's criminals without something like a Death Note.

Well, if he was going to really become a police officer, he'd probably have to shoot a criminal or suspect at some point in his career.
Otherwise, no. The absolute power of the Death Note corrupted his reasoning and turned him into a psychopathic murderer.

np... i don't think so... the author even said in volume 13 that if Light did not find the death not, he would have become a detective, maybe even working along side with L

Well, I don't think Light ever considered killing to change the world before he got a hold of the death note. His strong sense of justice refrains him from killing but when he knew what the death note was capable of, it gave him an idea. Besides, his father is the chief of the Japanese police and he is too clever; he wouldn't kill if he wouldn't be anonymous.

No, i dont think so...it's the power that you hold in your hands that makes you that way...he tried it once and felt it was good...it's when you pick a bite of something delicious and u cant help to feel like you cant stop eating it... sweatdrop I think Light would have become a member of the police force ...maybe helping L and stuff heart
