Fine, fine. If the miliary is testing it out, and it does exist, then you are right. But there are two problems with that.
1. Guards- yoou might as well ask them for an m16 or something to help them out, since most military R&D sites have some form of security. It can range from armed rent-a-cops, which would probably be the case, to full out soldiers, which isnt likely.
2. Availability- since its in its experimental stages, it hasn't been put into manufacturing yet, and thus, if you were facing down a horde of the undead, 20-50 rounds of those to live out your days would probably be a lesson in futility.
In all honesty, unless they were beign handed out at the first sign of an outbreak, youd be better off pursuing other weaponry with easily accesible ammunition. Personally i'd recommend .22LR rounds, because you can get 100 hollow point rounds for about $7. They even have shotshells for pistols, which would be something you can look into.
Right now i suppose i should count my blessings, because I have the Kahr weapons manufacturing plant less than a mile from my house, and they are the ones who manufacture the M1 Carbine and its .30 cal ammunition (in seperate wings of course).
Long story short, dont go for fancy weapons, simplicity has always been a shooters best friend, and will be yours too when the undead rise.

Pistol and rifle from our safe, (hopefully) decent sword/katana :not a copy, they break easily; crowbar and wooden bat with nails at the end (metal bts nowadays are made of aluminum, in other words, it will bend and break)

Wow, I'm sorry but you guys talk about practical implications for weapons, yet favor a baseball bat over a crow bar? The crow bar is much more durable than either aluminum or wooden bats, a quick stab and swirl through the eye socket or stab the hooked end through the zombie's head and hes gone since the goal is to destroy the brain. Not to mention the uses for the crow bar outside of killing; lifting heavy objects, opening containers/doors, etc. Which is why for me, the crowbar is my choice for a melee weapon. as far as ranged combat goes, give me a crossbow over a gun any day.1)no need for silencer. 2)scope is attachable. 3)light the bolt and you suddenly open up a whole new world of possibilities; light explosives from long range, light zombies for a controlled burn, and so on. I admit, do to the size of it's ammunition, means that you can carry less, and decent strength to pull back the bow before you can fire again, also resulting in a slower rate of fire. Both of the previous short comings are negligible considering the fact that a crossbow is a sniper's weapon.

ok i would have my owen set of wepons if this apocalips ever dose happen
fire arms: i would ofcorce have a 22.mm rifle and a shotgun with plenty of buck and bird shot i would want buck shot for taking them down from some distence and when the noise brings 100 undead on me ima have that bird shot and run puting many of them on ther asses as im running baycly thay wont catch up with me if thay have no legs i would prefer handguns as thay are more ubundent and more suted for erbin combat id use some 22. and 3.57 and i know noise is a large issue so her is another vary good solution i would have a nail gun it is operated by comprest air or co2 canisters and i would lode i with the biggest nail i know thay can carry like 15 to 20 nails so you will have a lot of amo not to acrit but at close rang thes things can go through anything crossbow is liumited by amo i dont want to have to relod every shot cuss there are more than one unded so what you think nail gun and the amo is sooooooooo chep and you can find it anywaer out of the door even lol
my malee wepon of chiose would have an aluminum bat it is perfict light waight is my consern you try and herl a 20lib crobar over your haed ten times and you ganna rilez that you are to tyerd to do it a bat is a more sudible cuss its simplisity it is light waight and any tenyear old soft ball player will be fresh for recruting anyone can swing a bat but a hevy iron bar is the last thing i want is more waight lol but that is just me also a golf club it will focuse the all of the energy in one point and that will be the brains of of everything
