Max grabbed his jaw length raven black hair, looked at it and sighed. "I guess you're right. But what I meant was most of us can get what we want by just muttering a few words, or snapping our fingers." Max paused "Apparently it was a gift from a goddess... I think," he looked at Jewls in the same way he did before "That the powers of a goddess, are far too powerful for a mere mortal." He smiled a bit.

Max stood for bit with his hand to his chin. He was thinking. "After eight hour, at around two o'clock. Meet me in the library. Okay?" Max waited for a yes or no, before turning to walk away only to fade away in the crowd.

Max entered the library after his last class of the day. Entering beside him was a girl, linked to his arm. His expression was bored honestly. He saw Jewls, approached him, the girl still giggling, and bubbling on his arm. He came to the desk where Jewls sat, then freed himself from the girl's grasp. He turned to her, then plainly said "I hate annoying people like you. Leave."

The girl hummed, as if she didn't understand. "Leave!" He shouted. The eyes of students averted to him. "Or I'll have to conjure something nasty." He smiled grimly. The girl simply nodded while smiling, then ran out the door as if she'd been given her first kiss.

"This is what I wanted to show you." Max said, still standing, watching the girl run ever so happily. He sat down, then looked at Jewls. "We Karmics," he paused "We Karmics have powers aside from being able to cast spells." Max sighed "Each Karmic is blessed with a different power. Some are more useful than others." Max crossed his arms as he tilted against his chair.

"I guess I'm what you call an Empath." Max explained "Like a telepath can speak with their minds, I can transmute emotions. I can feel what others feel, and sometimes unconsciously, make them feel what I want them to feel." Max smiled gently towards Jewls "You may think that's spiffy..." Max said, then looked down "But you'd never know if your friends like you because of you, or because you want them to." Max said, referring to the girl

Jewls arched an eyebrow, pencil held loosely in his hand as he studied Max, until it started trying to work it's way free and draw on it's own. "Mnnnn. And you have no control over this? Does it work through letters too? Like writing to someone?"

This was Zane's last year, and he intended to make the best of it. His things were already neatly organized and he was headed off to class. He pulled a jacket over his shoulders, as he walked out the dorm door. His pale blue eyes looked over everything. Yup nothing had changed too much.

Max paused to think "My power ranges for a six mile radius. With school wards, it only ranges for a three mile radius. If the person were three miles away from me, where my power can't reach them, wrote the letter then," he twirled a lock of his hair "Yes, I would believe their feelings."

Yue glanced at his watch and his eyes widened in alarm. He was going to be late. He jumped up from where he was standing, grabbed his bag with one hand and pulled his shirt on with the other.
He raced down the hall not paying attention to where he was going but at this rate he didn't care, he just wanted to get to class. He huffed after ever corner.
'I just had to go swimming didn't I?' he complained to himself. 'And not only that I had to do it on a day where my class was on the other side of school.'
He paused a few doors from his classroom and panted to get his breath back. He looked at his watch, he still had a few minutes to recover.

"Maybe," Jewls said, his pencil completely stilling. "Powers and stuff are a little new to me. I didn't know anything about them until my Master died. I guess there's a lot of stuff I don't know. I'm pretty good at walking around in the forest by myself though."

Yeah. Okay, so that went about like Jewls had expected. He was good with the library though and pulled his pencil back out. Max was nice, but Jewls couldn't say he expected the popular boy to talk to him again.
