Um, i need my party rated because, im about to go up against some of my other friends and they are pretty certain they can beat me.
My stretgy is type trumping, i throw out pokemon that know moves that fall many different other types. i make sure a move can even the odds out if they bring out a stronger pokemon that has type advantages

Heres my party(imported from kanto and hoenn):

1.lvl. 78 lapras: male
-surf
-waterfall
-thunderbolt
-ice beam

2.lvl. 70 staraptor: male
-Fly
-Defog
-Close Combat
-Steel Wing

3.lvl. 65 venusaur: female
-Rock climb
-sludgebomb
-petal dance
-rock smash

4.lvl. 70 Armaldo: male
-cut
-rock slide
-earthquake
-x-scizzor(at lvl 73)

5.lvl. 69n arcanine: male
-crunch
-strength
-dragon pulse
-flamethrower

6.lvl. 73 espeon: female
-(need a good move here)
-psychic
-shadow ball
-dig

sorry to put all my info so spread out, but i think you should know what i have. I also put a dark glasses on arcanine, soft sand on armaldo, and a metal coat on Staraptor. I then put a persim berry on venusaur to correct the confusion the petal dance creates.

I hope you like my party and im waiting for a rating and any suggestions you might have

I'm no expert rater, but my judgement is that some of your pokemon know worthless TM moves. Surf is fine, but waterfall, rock smash, and defog barely do anything for a team.

Well thank you for saying that i have alot of worthless TMs on my team. I guess your right. I just like alot of move diversity. Although I must protest, with waterfall especially. Waterfall is a powerful water move, and since it is now a physical attack, i can do as much damage as i want, depending on the stats that they have. Defog can suck, unless if you know how and why to use it. Im sorry to disagree with you, but the only useless TM on my team is rock smash and maybe steel wing. Other than that, i just want you to look at what im saying. Im not trying to be mean, i just want to show you why i picked these moves

Defog isn't so bad, just not my type of move. Waterfall can a HUGE difference. Say you're using Lapras how it currently is. And then low and behold a Blissey comes out. You are absolutely screwed. But wait... YOU CAN TAKE IT ON THROUGH IT"S WEAK DEFENSE. VICTORY SHALL BE YOURS.

Rocksmash will not do good on Ivysaur. It's a base 40 and Ivysaur's attack isn't so hot compared to it's special.

3 of your pokemon is weak against rock, but you should be fine if you prepare for that fact. I'd definately suggest putting a Tyranitar counter on your team. More so than Lapras. Also Espion either needs Morning Sun, Calm Mind, or Both.

That's my critic.

Oops, didn't know waterfall was a physical attack. In that case, it's good.
I lost my DS..I'll probably find it later today, but still..*dies of lack of Pokemon*

thank you! and i wasnt mad if you thought i was. I just want to say that diversity can be key in certain parties, and now that i have pearl, i can see it working both ways. By the way, thanks for the tip on morning sun, i added it into espeon's range of moves. I bet my party is top knotch now, although i really hope that i can still work with it if i get beaten. O!! and i do have a few pokemon that can go up against tyranitar.

Tyrannitar is heavily powerful, although it has a double weakness to fighting.

Using close combat, he is going to die so quickly.....

My staraptor has a speed helping nature, so i dont think ill have a problem with that, and his attack is too good

You could actaully beat the 8th gym leader but you reaally need to slow down and train.

I havent even fought the 6th gym leader and my pokes (4) are lvl 40, 41, 42, 45

Yeah, if you want to beat the E4 with those pokemon they better all be around 55.

also using them in a trainer battle could be risky cause they are all male,in theory one could use attract and then ud be at the mercy of luck.

I like your party, but half of them use fighting moves, and then another half are sucseptable to ground moves. If you can utilize your team well then this wont be a problem, because im sure your a good trainer. Roserade is a godly pokemon! teach it shadow ball....

Well how did you level your pokemon to 40 and only be at the 6th gym. Trust me, I have beaten every trainer near me, except the ones from suny shore to victory, and the victory ones. Also I have beaten the 8th gym, and might switch lucario out with Octillery, I'm not sure yet. But since I know I have to train, I have been beating every trainer at the restuarant, Jublife, and with my Vs seeker.
