Marlaina yup... as long as you ignore your "that evil so-and-so he just killed Dumbledore *cries like a baby*" instinct not that i'm calling sei a baby... but my sister was sobbing uncontrollably when she read that xD;; I was very sad when it happened, but could not cry like I did for Sirius because it was VERY LATE and I had a little headache from the neighboor's dog. But really, if you look at it, there's alot of evidence pointing that, as Harry had been instructed, Snape was also told to do as Dumbly says, even if it means killing him so that Snape himself, a very good part of the Order, would not die. :>

YUP!!! snape got the death eaters off the ground much quicker then they would have otherwise... they probably would have liked to hang around and play a little longer

Meh, I think the vow he made with Narcissa had a little more something to do with Snape's killing of Dumbledore, now I am not saying that Dumbledore didn't order him to do it if the need arose. He might have, but because of the Unbreakable Vow he would've died if he didn't kill Dumbledore because Draco failed to do so (The vow was that he'd watch over and guide Draco while he tried to kill Dumbledore, and to kill Dumbledore himself if Draco found himself unable to).
So to me, he did it more or less to save his own skin, instead of on Dumbledore's orders.

I don't think he though very much about giving his life away, he has always cared for Draco, he would have done it anyways, Vow or not. The discussion that was mentioned by Hagrid may have been when Snape told Dumbledore of the Vow and/or the obey my orders, perhaps...

i wouldn't say that he cared for Draco... but possibly he realised that he was Harry's foil and decided to "favor" him to help keep up appearences for his cover, piss off harry, or just because he can be a smarmy p***k at times
