LycorisDoll Definitly "Keeping You A Secret", by Julie Anne Peters. It's SUCH a good book. I understand where the main character is coming from and everything. It's basically about a girl who 'thinks' she straight. She has the perfect boyfriend, friends, and a family. But then a new girl comes to the school and she instantly likes her. And it's all about them getting to know each other and them having a relationship and the impact of it all on the people around her. My favorite thus far. <3

Almost Like Being in Love by Steve Kluger. It's my number one guilty-pleasure,-read-whenever-I-need-some-happiness book. It's not written traditionally, either - it's all done through notes, memos, lists, journal entries, etc. It's quite, quite good.

I've also really enjoyed A Really Nice Prom Mess by Brian Sloan and Freak Show by James St. James.

Me neither. D: It's so friggin' sad. And I still don't know quite how she did it. Everything was done and timed in such a way that it was perfectly powerful and ridiculously distressing.
(Edit: Watch us turn everyone from reading it XD)

Yeah... I didn't see any of it coming. But I so couldn't stop reading that I ended up being 5 hours late for something (oops). Then I was so depressed and confused I was worthless. Actually, I just kept envisioning... well, I can't say for fear of spoiling, but... let's say I kept thinking of some way the ending could have ended up happy >__> *still in denial* (heehee, no, everyone better read it!! it's f&*#ing fantastic!)

Not sure if these count, but Even Cowgirls Get the Blues by Tom Robbins and Fall On Your Knees by Ann-Marie Macdonald. The latter of those is apparently super controversial; I went to my library to get a copy of it and found out that it had been stolen eleven times. Apparently they have to re-stock copies of it every year or so between the people who burn it and the people who are too embarrassed to check it out for fear of their families finding out. It didn't seem "bad" to me at all, but what're-ya-gonna-do. >>

I don't think I ever got in touch with many glbt books actually, but I did get affected by reading one book when I was younger, "Trying hard to hear you" by Sandra Scoppettone. It takes place in the '70s and I always liked how the main character Camilla starts from having wrong and close minded thoughts and grows wiser throughout the book.. I read that when I was 9 and it became one of my favourite books of all time, so I grew up with -I hope- a serene point of view towards being something other than straight.. even if in my family the common thought is somewhat different sweatdrop

I would have to say my favorite book is Rainbow Boys by Alex Sanchez. and I guess I'm not the only one who thinks so because tons of people have posted they luv it too. I also like Luna and Geography Club by Brent Hartinger. Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan is now added to the list too. mrgreen

My favorite would have to be the Last Herald-Mage series by Mercedes Lackey. I can't remember the titles of all the three books individually, but they were really good!
