Duncan_the_Soulknight The Resurrection Grey skies tainted red Actually tho it may be a branch of Christianity there is a huge division between the two. ^_^;; My friends mom is a huge catholic and I made the wrong assumption cause after seeing 30 crosses in a house you need to ask, So I guess you are Christian. She then proceeded into a rant explaining though it may be the main religion that they branched off of it is still different. So catholics get offended by being called Christians and Christians are offended by being called catholics. (Not all of em just a majority.) sweatdrop They're all Christians and anyone that tells you otherwise is a liar or a fool. And as someone who was raised Roman Catholic in a generally Catholic environment surrounded by other Catholics, your generalization is grossly inaccurate. I agree. I'm here assuming that you are from USA, Grey. The main relition there is protestant christianity, which in actuality branched off from the catholic church, not the other way around. Catholicism is without any kind of doubt part of christianity, and, no offense to the mother of your friend, she's probably just one of those "holier than thou" people. I am sorry to say even tho you said no offense, I do take offense. Your judging a woman whom you never met and pre judging is just wrong. She is very religious but she isn't "holier than thou" at all.I am sorry for taking offense but pre judging bothers me, and if you too didn't mean it in a negative way I am sorry in advance.

My step brother groups Halloween super stores and tarot cards together and calls them "evil pagan demonic things" and although it makes me giggle uncontrollably I also take offense at it because it's all REALLY stupid propaganda. I don't know some assumptions people make are just... dumb I guess. I think you really need to have an open mind to survive in a society like ours and not let little silly things like that bother you.
((The whole Tarot and Halloween thing happened at different times by the way. The tarot thing last night and the Halloween thing quite some time ago. He called tarot "Horrible" though. I don't know, I just got a kick out of that for some reason...))

I was never surrounded by catholics also I do find it very offensive for you to insult a woman you never met by calling her a fool or a liar. If I am reading this wrong and you don't mean it as an insult then I apologize in advance but your overall tone seems quite rude. I don't really care what you think and, personally, I'm offended on the behalf of correct knowledge and the welfare of increasing the average person's knowledge that she has the audacity to spread such blatantly false statements as the ones you've presented. . ANYONE, ******** ANYONE, who says Catholics are NOT Christians is lying or a moron. See? I upgraded it because you stupidly had to press the issue. The single requirement for being a Christian religion is that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah promised by the God of Abraham as a fulfillment of the Old Covenant. I don't care if I've met them or not, if they deny Catholicism is a Christian religion, then they're a blithering idiot. Furthermore I'm offended that YOU had the audacity to draw such sweeping generalizations when you clearly have minimal experience with Catholics, especially ones that put them in a negative light. You should be ashamed of yourself for committing such grievous crimes against knowledge.

Angel No More To anyone of any religious values if this upsets you I am sorry..however. Christians, normally get upset because they believe their god to be all good and holy and the only god out there. They want to follow him while have their own backgrounds. Catholics, well they have more of a spiritual background but they still believe in God, Jesus, and the holy spirit, along with other spirits. As far as that since my mother use to be in those religions that is what I've seen. When I became a witch I had to sit down and make her see what it was I was doing, or else...well..you can see how that would have went. What does surprise me is that this subject is just coming up now. But I guess in time you'll come to terms with the stupid looks, and comments people may give you. As long as it doesn't sway your beliefs, everything is fine. My grandmother is a Catholic, but she doesn't really "act" like one. Although she "disapproves" of me being a medium, she goes to palm readers and believes the guy that talks to ghost on tv and the lady who talks to animals. She really is weird when it comes to that stuff. Everytime someone brings me being a medium up, she makes the sign of the cross and says, "She's a Catholic. No Catholic in their right mind believes that s**t." I really don't believe. It's like yesterday I didn't talk much to her. She gets retells the Easter story like she was there when it happens. Why do they do that too????

I get that aswell... where every year, at cristmass and easter, they do the same bloody thing about the CHRISTIAN point of view, like we havnt herd the christmass story enough, they do it 12 times.... and they expect everyone to be christian at the school, it isnt a catholic school, so if it was ide sorta understand, but its like they try and drill it into our heads, "what would you do, if you were in jesuses position"... who cares? i wasnt, i wont, and i dont care, so why ask me for the 9th time?
and another thing, regarding christianity, its the same with protestants, heres a geunine conversation i had with my mum, we was watching tele, some program, and he was saying something (which i dont remember anymore but it dosent matter)

mum-because its from the bible aswell, but slightly different
me-so, if i wrote the sky is made out of crap in a book would it be true?

Well, when you go and start a war, thus killing thousands of people in the process in the name of god you kind of become a Jesus freak. Also the point that he made awhile back about Wicca not being a religion and that the military should re-think their decision of calling it so, shows that he is intollerant towards other religions.
If you're going to start...what is it now? 6, 7 years since we've been at war? Well, if you're going to start a war and say that it is in the name of god you are a Jesus freak. Because no one in their right religious mind would do soemhting where so many people would die in the name of their god.
If the God and Goddess told me that I needed to start a war in their name I wouldn't do it, because that is morally wrong. (they would never do that of course though) The only way I might start a war is if it was specifically FOR the religion itself, like if we didn't fight it we would never be able to follow our beliefs ever again. But I wouldn't just start a war and say they told me to or say that it is in their name.

I might be really slow, but when did Bush or anyone in his administration say that Jesus/God told them to start the Iraq war? As I see it, and I might see it wrong, they've said that we are in the right and that God is on our side, but that's not quite the same as having a war in the name of God. If he said that the war was fought for God, I'm pretty sure that would breech separation of church and state. As for the Wicca thing. I think the whole "Bush speaks out against Wicca" is really funny. Who would have thought that the military would be more leinent than the republican party when it came to different beliefs. I mean jeeze you're good enough to die for the country but not good enough to worship whatever you want. The specific quote from Bush happens to ironically be true as what Bush said was "I don't think witchcraft is a religion..." . Witchcraft isn't a religion, it's a tool used in many religions. I think it is a testiment to his ignorance on Wicca or any New Age/ Pagan religion that he would think the two words are interchangable. I would need some proof of who these powers were and an explination as to why. I don't necisarily think was is wrong, but I do agree that the idea of a just war or a "War in the Name of God(s)" seems to be thrown around in a manner I find too haphazard and loose.
