Rick - 20(Yah I'm an old fart)/M/Alberta, Canada
I've been drumming off and on since I was 11. The main reason why I haven't been steady is due to chronic migraines. One of the worst things to happen to a young musician. I've played in school bands all the way up through high school. Also played in a few rock/punk bands and have managed to do some recording. I've just really been getting back into it in the last couple years and will be persuing a music major in percussion after wasting a year at University studying Psychology(well at least it was a waste to me).
My drums are a crappy old CB set with a Pearl Chad Smith Signature snare and Evan's heads. My hardwares a mish-mash of stock, network and Pearl. Cymbals are all Sabian, HHX, B8 and ProSonix mixed in there. I like to play funk, blues and jazz mostly but it can be tough finding people to play with in a city absolutely dominated by country.

Hey hey, well I'm Blake.
I'm 16, I've been playing for a little bit over a year. Self Taught with the excetions of visits to music stores where I asked many questions, online lessons, and drum forums.
I have had an experience with 2 bands. One a metal/punk/rock band, which we lasted for a couple of months and ended up playing one gig. It was slowed down and somewhat died from the guitarists having too much add to stay in one band. The 2nd band a soft rock/Christian cover band, with the same guitarist and another bassist and we played one gig also only to be stopped by the school year and hard work.
My set-up you may laugh, but oh well: Pearl Enforcer 5 set: Hi-hat stand 1 straight cymbal stands 2 toms 1 Floor Tom 1 Snare All Stockheads still on Bass drum Enforcer Stock pedal set of zildjian zbt cymbals(I know they aren't the best, but they will do till I get a job): 14'' Hi-hat 16'' Crash 18'' China 20'' ride And to finish it off 2 Boom Stands
Very noobish I know, but eh I'm 16 and I'm bout to get a job soon and firstly planning on replacing all my heads.
My main influences are: Mike Portnoy: Creativiness(If it isn't a word too bad, haha) Joey Jordison:I know he is highly overrated, but he is a decent drummer and has an amazing speed, although not the fastest Basicly any power metal or death metal drummer Ron Jarzombek: Random Time Signatures Drummer of Muse: A fellow left-handed drummer with amazing chops Any drummer who is decent

A/ 15 S/ Female L/ East Sussex, England, UK
I have been playing drums for roughly 4 years now. 1 and a bit years was self taught but since then i have been recieving a half hour sight reading lesson from the ESMS most weeks. I have reached a Grade 8 standard in just under 3 years.
I play in 2 bands- one 'rock'-ish band with some of my friends and the UCTC Contempory Music Group/Rock band at my school- it basically consists of my GCSE music class and a few select others, we play loads of styles of msuic- ourr most recent have been classic rock modern day indie covers. We put our own spin on the songs(which usually involves 'jazzing' em up, as quite a few of us are into jazz! mrgreen
I sing (badly haha) in the Senior Choir also.
Ugh if you must know- my kit is a CB crying bought second hand but with barely a scratch from my neighbour. It still has the original crappy cymbals but hey i learn to live with it. I have so many pairs of sticks i can hardly count! At the moment i am using Purple Zildjian DipSticks 5A. I tend to change my stick for the style of drumming i am doing e.g. Jazz-7AN Rock 5A Sure you really wanted to know that hahaha lol 4laugh
Well hope to talk to some of you soon! heart

Name's Kevin. I'm 18 and from DE, US. I've played concert snaredrum for 7 years, drumset for 5, and marching band (snaredrum) for 4. I'm OK at mallet percussion too. I'm in a bunch of bands at school, but my favorite pasttime is to rock out in my sparetime to CDs or write and play original grooves. Music I like is most rock - not the angry yelling kind or poppunk crap. Journey, the Living End, Boston, and the Cars are some of my fav's.
