Scarlet hid the jewel well and returned on deck to check the progress. She had the strange feeling she was being watched so she tried to occupy herself with something. She looked around and noticed the captive boy sitting leaned up against the railing. "How you doin', boy? They slugged ya pretty hard didn't they?" Scarlet asked walking over to him. He looked up but did not respond. His skin was pale and Scarlet could see the pain in his eyes. She leaned over him and checked him over. She reached up to touch him but he flinched away. "Relax, kid! It's all part of the act! I'm not always looking to kill someone! It's just... Part of the job description." She reached up to check the wound on the back of his head. "Hmm... Hasn't stopped bleeding has it?" Scarlet left and came back with some scrap material from what formally could have been someone's shirt. She wrapped it around his head tight, "There ya go. Should be as good as new! So, boy, what's your name?"

"Johnny." Johnny said quickly and looked away. He did not expect the captain of a pirate ship to be so... Caring! In his disoriented state, it still did not occur to him that she was a woman! He looked into her face but looked away again. Turning deep red, he did not understand how he could be attracted to the man who'd just killed most of the men he'd come to know as friends just a few minutes prior! "Why bother?" Johnny asked, "You're just going to kill me later, right?" He was trying to remind himself that this captain was a heartless murderer. Although his head was beginning to feel a lot better.

Scarlet blinked, "Kill you? Oh no, my boy! You're the newest member of my crew! What'd you think you were? A hostage?" Scarlet laughed, "Sorry! I unless you're the son of a rich duke, don't think you'd have the luxury of that! Which is highly unlikely considering your clothes and dark tan, you may as well have been SOLD to that ship!" Scarlet was about to leave but turned back "Oh, but if you'd like the choice, you can walk yourself off the plank any time you like! I won't stop ya!"

Jane walks up beside Scarlet, She changed into a comfortable red skirt and a man's white dress shirt, which hung loosely on her body. "Hey Captain!" She smiled as she looked over towards Johnny. "I can't believe it kid, your older than me. No offense but you look like a pre-teen." She lets out an over dramatic sigh. "I wish I knew where to find the fountain of youth that you found." She flashed him a pleasent smile. "See pirates aren't so bad, the only thing you have to worry about is Scarlet in the morning... She can get very cranky if she doesn't have her beauty sleep." She places her hands behind her head in a lazy matter. "So, El Capitano, how much do you think that stone is worth? I found it, so I should get a sizable portion of the gold."

Scarlet whistled a wolf's whistle "Gee, Jane! Lookin' good!", Scarlet pointed towards the captain's quarters, "That stone is probably worth the price of the entire empire and all its colonies!" Scarlet laughed to hide her anxiety over the stone. "You'll get your share! Don't worry my dear Jane!" Scarlet looked forward to and yet dreaded parting with the jewel. Scarlet felt the sudden urge for a drink, "Jane, if you wouldn't mind, could you keep an eye on our little Johnny-boy here? He hit his head and seems to have delusions of being the son of a rich duke. I'm gonna go see what's keeping Calvin with that rum!"

"Yes ma'am." Jane smiles as she watches Scarlet enter the cellars. She turns and sits beside Johnny. "You okay?" She askes as she pulls out a fresh cloth and removes the bloodied one. "Well, at least the bleeding stopped. You should go party with the others tonight, get blasted or something. Being in a drunken state will help you forget about the pain." Jane looks at him and smiles. "Don't worry, I'll watch out for you... I tend to avoid rum... It tends to cause problems with me. So uhh, what's this about being the son of a rich Duke, or has Scarlet lost her mind again?."

"O-Oi! Captain! Heeeeelllp!" Clyde yelled as he almost fell face foward before catching himself. In his hands were 3 crates filled with rum. "Um, Captain, ma'am, wanna take a crate please? There's still 4 or 5 crates I need to get!" Clyde exclaimed, almost falling again. He always got stuck with the hard work....

One of the crew memebers runs up to Scarlet. "Cap'n we found sometin' you might be interested in...we found a lass in one of the cellors. She claims the sailors were keeping 'er 'ostage. Thought we should tell ya before the men decidd what to do with 'er. Not every day a pirate sees a good lookin' lass y'know? Course 'cept for you and Jane that is."

"MORRIS! ARGUS!" Scarlet yelled at two of her crew whose real names were Martin and Alexander, "Go assist Calvin! I want that rum here PRONTO!" Martin and Alexander comply muttering something about Scarlet making up names in her head. The truth is, with the exception of Jane, Scarlet couldn't remember a name unless it was tattooed to their forehead! The only reason she remembered Jane's was because she'd known her from childhood. So, for the most part, Jane just shouted out a name randomly and hoped it was right. Strangely, hardly anyone ever corrected her, giving her the false hope that she knew all her crew's names. Scarlet turns to the other pirate to address his issue "No need for flattery, sir! Bring the girl here! If she's really that cute, we just might have a new pet!"

"Aye Cap'n!!" The crew memeber turns towards some other men and yells" Bring the lass to Cap'n Scarlet!!" The crew members nod and go to retreive the girl.
A few minutes pass....A couple of men are bringing the girl up from the cellor. The girl height is arond 5'6, slender and with nice curves, and a fair size chest (almost rivaling that of Jane). Her hair is past the shoulders and it is a beautiful lavender colour. She has blue eyes and is in a raggy loooking dress.
"This be the girl we were tell'n ya 'bout Cap'n."

Scarlet took one look at the girl and had to take a double-take! She went up to the girl and kissed her on the hand, "Good evening, my sweet! I'm Captain Scarlet West! Welcome to my ship! The Maria! We rarely come across such beauty as yours!" She told the girl with inhuman beauty and continued the gentleman act "But these clothes do not suit such a beautiful figure! Come! We must get you out of these! I think I have some clothes more suitable in my quarters!" She lead the girl away, brought her into the Captain's Quarters and shut the door. She apeared a few seconds later and barked "I WANT THAT RUM ON THIS SHIP IN 5 MINUTES OR I LEAVE YOU ALL BEHIND FOR DAVY JONE'S LOCKER!" And disappeared back inside again.

"Aye Captain. Wha!!" Jane screeched as she walked in. "Who in blood hell is THAT?" Jane suspiciously eyed the newcomer. She began to examine the girl by lifting up her arm. "Mm, smells like rich people." She sneers as she leaves the cabin.

"JANE! Show some respect! This girl was a hostage on that dirty merchant ship! And I'm keeping her so mind your manners!" Scarlet yelled after Jane as she left. "Now, Miss Aurora?" Scarlet walked to the back of the cabin to a large, wooden wardrobe, "As far as women's clothes goes, I don't have a lot. But I'm sure Jane wouldn't mind if you borrowed some of her's!" Scarlet opens Jane's wardrobe revieling a mixture of both men's and women's casual clothing. But also a few large, expensive looking ball room gowns. "Choose whatever you like! And if Jane gives you any trouble, be sure to inform me! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a crate of rum to attend to!" Scarlet left shutting the door behind her. She was now in search of Clyde and that rum. "Now where has Calvin disappeared off to?"
