Kajitora truth: i "exist" in some way or form within some "world" whether it be a physical, spiritual, and/or mental one itself just as i could or am Wow, I'm rather envious. You exist. I know it sounds stupid and all, but I still cannot prove that I exist anymore, if I ever did. Rather, the closest thing I can find to my existence is that I am more or less the reflection of everything and everyone around me

Now I had an odd that it's sort of a logical fallacy i'll explain the rest later. Heres part of my though. "How do you prove that you don't exist" seems like thats impossible to do!
I wonder how I can put that into a quote
"If you can't prove that you exist...Then prove that you dont exist" or "Prove to me that you dont exist..The i'll prove that you do"
xp Work in progess xp

For my money the fact that you are self aware enough to base anything off of what you do and doo not know is true is enough proof for existence.
Proving the existence of those other things around you is a different coloured horse, as these things are fairly subjective and change at different times, prespectives, altitudes and such. A chair is a chair even if it looks different than any angle, but a chair is always a chair unitll it's state changes.

I'd like to changhe that old quote to ' I think therefore you are'.
If I see you and can touch, taste, smell you, interract with objects that I also see and we can pass them between each other then you exist to my satisfaction. If you then do the same for me then I exist too.
Maybe it's enough for you to hand me an object that I can feel, see, smell, taste.
I don't want to think about group hallucination for now. smile

If you then do the same for me then I exist too. Your perceptions of things could very easily be imagined, exaggerated, or controlled somehow. The whole "I think therefore I am" thing (aside from not being exactly what Decartes said) only really proves that you are capable of thought. Although that is existing, it says nothing about existence in the physical world.

You can quite literlly be in a dream or hallucantion and completely believe it is real .. you can pretty much see my point.

So even if everything you perceive is a deception, the fact that you can perceive it still shows that you exist. Unless your point was that personal perceptions are perceptions nonetheless... In which case I agree, but they still can not really tell you anything about the outside world, or even if it exists.

...so prove you exist, and you're not some dreamed up creature or a brain floating in a jar being poked by electricity.
"I think therefore I am" the way I see it, seems something like "I think god(s) exist(s), therefore they do". It's all complicated.
Basically, we don't know anything but the things we take in with our five senses.

Quote: Unless your point was that personal perceptions are perceptions nonetheless... In which case I agree, but they still can not really tell you anything about the outside world, or even if it exists. Well i think it would be better to say that personal perception can only tell us about the world we are currentlly experiencing. Even if it is "Reality" or a "Hallucination". So the "World" that we see now and experience with our five senses is still real. Whether if be a fictional world created within our own mind or if it is once again "Reality". Yet again "Reality" is still a personal perception within itself since you have to observe and comprehend it. Although this still depends on the person especially in a sense of time. Because you could be experiencing a hallucination one second and return back to your commonly know reality. Not unless you go with the consensus reality which is a set of agreed truths within a society, group, et cetera. And on another note even if you say we may only be experiencing a group or society which may only be a part of our imagination. It still doesnt prove they don't exist since your mind did simulate it. Also it has created a individuality with a personality to think and act a certain way. And please do not mistake it with a true consciousness. Unless we were to go indepth on psychological issues such as alternate personalities. That is a completely different conversation for another time. Even so I haven't thought of or seen any ways to prove that something does not exist.

Prove to me that you don't exist then prove to me that you do. rofl It's like poking yourself in the eye rofl Lol. You can't really prove that you don't exist and in the end you still prove that you exist without even trying to prove that point. xd So basically we only know the "inherent truth(s)"

Whoa, this is the first time that I have ever had a headache from reading what others were saying on a debate...
Anyway, I think we are going in circles, its simple, no one can say "I exist" for everything around you may be an illusion. Actually this debate can't go anywhere until someone clarifies, "reality" and "logic" here I explain, there is a "rule" that has everything heavier than air goes down, right? Well, how do we know if we are actually upside down? we may say this *points to ground* is down and this *points to ceiling* is up, but maybe its the other way around? You cannot prove anything, even if you say "gravity pulls things down" for you may not know if gravaty pulls this up. I don't mean that everyone is actually walking around upside down, but I am questioning the exsistance of "up" and "down" for people from the other side of the world would be walking "down" right? how can that happend? Even if "gravity" pulls people to its surface you cannot say that "earth" is real or not. There are "rules" about things, but maybe those rules are just illusios barries that "stops" us from getting anything further...
I am not making sense am I? I guess, this is just a ramble going on my head, I try to clarify again. I am hold a 1 dollar bill, I "feel" the bill in my hand, but am I really? I may just be dreaming of it, I may dreaming I am typing all this down. Everything may be nothing, but what is nothing? If you start questioning your whole life, you find out that you know nothing. like "Is this flower real?" you may never know, like you don't know if there is heaven, if there is God. Maybe Jesus was just an illusion like life...
In the end, there is no answer for you must "know" if the other is real or not... Here an example... n + g = 4 You must know either what is "n" or "g" to find the answer There is also this Flower exist = you exist
So if you "kill" a flower which does exsist then you must exsist, but you don't know if the flower exist, so the whole Flower exsist = you exist is false...
sweatdrop sorry if I didn't clarify it enough, but this is mostly ramble from my head that I tried to make it understandable for others

The Resurrection I can never know more than that I exist. Unless, if out of the blue, some almighty being told you something that was incredibly convincing and backed it up with "evidence" in twenty three days. My point being, you only say that because it's what you think is the hardest thing to prove otherwise, but because (Assumably) there'll always be a future, there will always be another chance for absolutely everything to change. By definition, there are no facts.

This is a bit off topic. And really is going to seem a bit odd.
The greatest trick the devil ever did was convincing the world that he did not exist. I wonder how that would actually be done.
Well if you understand what I mean anyways i'll explain a bit later. And type out the rest of my response once I get a few opinions on this.

I've heard that, and yeah, it's off topic. Hypothetically speaking, he's supposed to be pretty powerful. He could do something along the lines of possess people among us and get them to speak Blasphemy (What us Atheists call common sense) to other people that doubt this concept of a Devil. Not that complicated. I just see it as a dying effort to scare people into believing, and really, what kind of a b-stard wants a religion founded on fear?
