"Ah! I'm Hibiri!" he beamed, then blushed, "Oh! Oh I'm sorry for keeping you," he gasped, releasing his hand and folding his own, standing himself up, his own papers being put back into the briefcase, which he shut swiftly. "Yes, let's go," he smiled, waiting for the other to stand and follow.
Voux sighed as he waited in the sitting room, glad that the sofa he'd been offered wasn't uncomfortable. He looked pleased at the promtness of the tea's arrival, that was, until it was spilled on him. Clenching his jaw, his gaze slowly fell to the tea on his lap as he took the cup from her. He opened his mouth to speak, but found no words. "Go. Just get out of my sight," he growled, "and prepare me some new clothes. I will not be wearing stained trousers,"

He opened his mouth to speak, but found no words. "Go. Just get out of my sight," he growled, "and prepare me some new clothes. I will not be wearing stained pants," The servant rushed out, looking as though she might cry. When she returned with the stack of fresh clothes, she refused to look at Voux and scurried off as soon as she'd set them on his lap.A few corridors away Illarius was storing the files while talking happily with Hibiri. "I can't believe to got started so young!...Well actuall, i've worked here since I was sixteen, but still." He shook his head, the dark silky hair swaying slightly.

"sixteen?! How young you were! You must be a 1st class by now, right?" he grinned, trotting along beside him, blinking and frowning softly as he saw a maid run past in tears, "wonder what that's all about....," he sighed uner his breath.
Voux hissed at her when she returned, and glared at her retreating back. Standing, he pointed to the nearest guard. "You. Lead me to my room. I wish to change and to rest," he stood, slapping the tea he was brought off the table, and heading to the door, the guard quickly hurrying to accomodate his wishes.

"Heh, well actually I'm not." Illarius didn't sound the least bit upset about that in the least. "I'm still a third class, but I prefer it that way. I get to be closer to the people, know what they need and better relay it at meetings, see?" He ruffled the boys hair and watched the maid run off. "What on earth...."

"third?! Really? Aw man.... I thought you'd be able to help me. I'm so terrible at this job...and new, too!" he pouted, "I'm a 2nd class, now...," he sighed, and looked forlorn, even enviously at Illari, "and, as for that girl.....," he frowned more, "she looks like she's been terrorized by a monster! How frightened she is! Do you think we should go ask her? Perhaps there's something mad and scary here in the palace today,"

"Why not just go straight to the source?" Illarius asked with a frown. He hated it when the servant's and slaves were treated badly. That girl in particular he knew to be very kind, but incredibly shy. "And don't worry. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. At your rank it's a matter of who you know." With that the elder went a little further down the hall and entered the sitting room.
"Is there a problem in here?"

Hibiri trotted after him, nodding and frowning, putting on a face that looked like he was ready for a quarrel--which made him look even cuter.
Voux was standing up, straightening to his full, thin, elegant 5'10", his large, sharp ice blue eyes turning on the others and narrowing. A chill seemed to come off him more fiercely than anyone, "I need to be shown to my Ambassador's chambers. Right now. Care to do it?" he looked down his nose at them, the guard that had come to do the job he just required of them shifting and looking nervous. "Or are you as incompetant as your slaves?"

The cold blue of Voux's eyes was matched sternly by Illarius's warm caribbean. "I'd think someone of your staus would know how to find his own quarters you know" the ocean lord said icily. All ambassadors had room assigned specifically to them. That way they could be furnished to suit each individuals particular needs and comforts.
"However, if you feel it necessary to be escorted, I'll oblige." He turned to leave winking at Hibiri who looked impossibly adorable with that fixed expression on his face. He'd seen Voux before of course; even debated against him a few times, but had made a point to avoid the obnoxious Lossardian outside of meetings.

"Ill...something, isn't it? As a third-rank lord, I would seriously advise you to hold your tongue, if not bite it off, in efforts to keep your dull quips from me, I am not in the mood," he snorted, nudging Hibiri out of the way as he passed, following him, "and, in response, my ability to find my room is not the issue here. I have had the same room every time I've been forced to come stay in this hellhole. What's in question is the service of the resident staff of this palace, and its poor, deteriorating quality. It's sickening," he wrinkled his nose, stalking along beside him with easy, long-legged stride.
Hibiri blinked, pouting and watching the others leave. He sighed, trotting off in search of his own room, for he doubted very much that any aid would be offered to him.

"What I find sickening is your inability to do things for yourself. And you may rank higher than me, but that's as far as your influence over my position goes." He turned acorner and started down an elegant hallway made completely out of blue and white glass. this was where the representatives from Lossarda stayed. Even the temperature had been adjusted to make the winter dragons more comfortable.
"If you find the lodgings here beneath you, may I suggest you find your own?"

He reached forward and upward, grabbing the other firmly by the shoulder, and turning him to face him, looking coolly up at him. "I wouldn't be so sure as to assume that my authority lies only with the position of 1st Class Lord, you ignorant little waterfowl. I may have much more control over your position than you realize," he smirked, a rather dangerously sexy expression on his pale, elegant face, "And, even if that were the case, your class in itself is not much greater than that of a civillian. You should learn to respect your superiors, and your elders. I swear, no matter how many years you've spent in the same place, you still battle with your restraints," he snorted, his grip on his shoulder very tight and painful, but he releases it before turning to his doors and pushing them open, "your backwater upbringings probably make this concept unfathomable, but let me make this abundantly clear, and hopefully it won't bounce off your thick little waterlogged skull," he looked over his shoulder at him, "it isn't that I'm incapable of doing things for myself. It's that I don't have to. Don't mistake that I could do your job and everyone else's blessed gruntwork around here just as well, if not better than each of you. It's merely my decision to live at the top of my game, instead of as swine. It's differences like these--our rank, our position, our jobs, Illarius--that keep us separate from vermin, other than the ability to transform and walk upright. Remember that, lest you find yourself chained in the same way as those slaves you seem to adore so much," with that, he stepped forward into his room, his back turned on the other.

Illarius growled, rubbing his shoulder which was forming a bruise beneath the soft fabric of his shirt. "Somehow I get the feeling that you'd overlook what's best for your people in favor of benefiting yourself."
The young ocean dragon knew that this could be easily countered by pointing out that many people wouldn't want to lose their slaves, so what about their interests. However, Illarius knew quite well that the slave population was steadily rising. People who had been born free were kidnapped or sold into servitude. Older dragons had disappeared only to be found later, brainwashed and completely obediant to another. And this omitting the treatment that most of them received. mistreatment that Illarius had seen firsthand.
"You're the ignorant one", he said softly turning away from Voux, intending to find Hibiri and see how he was holding up.

He merely snorted, "That's the funny thing about ignorance, little boy. Those with the most of it are those who are most blind to it," He shut his door with a loud snap.
Meanwhile, Hibiri was trotting around, looking for the place where the forest dragons were supposed to stay, and mulling things over in his mind. If that other Lord was a first-class ambassador, why hadn't he been there for the opening meeting that had concluded not too long ago. He made a cute, puzzled expression as he continued to wander about aimlessly.

"Hey!" It was the elder dragon's voice. A face soon followed smiling at the little forest lord as though nothing upsetting had occured earlier. When he caught up he was breathing a little heavier but still smiling as he placed a hand on Hibiri's shoulder. "You're in the swamp rooms. Gelinrond is this way. Come on. I'll take you up and then maybe we can get some tea." ---------------------
Several hours passed until it was evening. The sun had set not ten minutes ago leaving a dim red glow on the horizon. Illarius was in the common room. Now wearing a comfortable pair of loose fitting silk pants and a longsleeved, light blue shirt of the same material, he'd settled himself in one of of the softer chairs with a book. His long blue hair, usually tied up in the stadard ponytail was haning loose ofver his shoulder as shining in the soft candle light that lit the common room.

Several frost dragons passed the doors to the common room in which Illarius sat, mumbling and looking harried. Voux had just released them from a regional meeting, and he passed the door as well. However, while glancing into the room by chance as he walked, he spotted the other, and backtracked to walk into the room instead, with a sneer. "Well well. So you can read," he appeared surprised. He was now wearing a pair of tight, silvery leather pants, tucked into white, buckle-adorned leather boots, and a long sleeved and tailed white linen shirt, with many silver buttons on the body as well as the cuffs, laces with silver eyelets crisscrossing up the back to insure a flattering fit, the strings hanging down lazily from their bow, which was concealed beneath his fee-hanging, metallic mass of platinum hair.
