I read that a while back, it's pretty funny in some bits where musashi goes on about how great he is and how much better his school is than all the others. There's a bit where he's talking about a technique from another school and says something along the lines of 'I would never even think of doing something sissy like that' that made me piss myself.

It's helped my kendo a little bit too.

And he name's Tiffany Aching mys. In gaelic (the feegles speak one third gaelic) the phenetic word means 'off with the fairies' or 'land under sea'. It was a complete fluke, he'd already named her when he found that out.

Ooohh... That is quite good. I think Battleaxe is one of the better ones in the series, and in the the Wayfarer redemption too... Although Sara seems to have an obsession with having her characters raped for some reason... o_O

Ermm... dunno if I should be doing this, but here is a forum that has many people from her old fan club (before she closed it)

http://losttribe.unleadedonline.net/

I haven't been there in AGES, but maybe you'll find people to talk to about the books if you like ^_^

Streek. Stop being an arse and acting like Bunnah. stare If you don't want to talk about books, that is fine. but you don't have to throw around an attitude that suggests that anybody that reads is wrong or bad in some way.

Yeah, well he is arguably the best swordsman who ever lived, he has a right to brag xd
I'm going to do my Extension History assignment partly on him to discover if he really was that great ninja

He's the most famous Japanese swordsman who ever lived.
For a start, even if you believe everything he says, you can't put it all on his actual swordsmanship, even when he was alive there were better actual fencers, they just didn't know what to do when the dude they were fighting was running up the beach screaming and waving an oar. He fought dirty. Plus there's very little actual information on him besides what he wrote himself, which is just a little bias.
And then there were all the samurai he never fought, hundreds of years worth of them, and that's only in Japan.

Have you seen the samurai trilogy? In my most humble of opinions there are a lot of better movies out there, ie all kurasawa's movies, particularly sanjuro, and the lone wolf and cub movies, and the new zatoichi was pretty awesome, best ending ever. But Musashi's played (obviously encredibly well) by Toshiro Mifune, and you can't go past Toshiro Mifune for a good samurai movie.

Hahaha, yes I know about the lack of material. Also, he never came up against Yagyu Jubei who was also around at the time. Two of the greatest swordsman in Japan, never actually meeting each other. Quite astonishing really.
Mmm, I actually saw that fight on Japanese TV, they have a drama about the life of Musashi and it's quite good.
No I don't believe I have seen it to tell the truth.
Yeah I watched Akira Kurosawa's classic the Seven Samurai and I loved it. It was extremely well done for a 1950's film.
Yes I particularly enjoyed Zatoichi too, it was really diverse, not jst a splatter fest, it was very well done.
