Goya froze as a loud crack cut through the air. It probably wasn't that loud but the acoustics of the tall trees and the silence that normally surrounded them made it feel like something had exploded.

The young Sarus could not see what had caused the sound, although there was little else that it could be. Someone else was nearby, and that someone had not looked where they were treading and broken a branch.

Panic threatened to bubble in his mind. Was it the enemy? Or was it someone like him who was trying to be stealthy and out of sight. He didn't exactly want to hang around and find out so he quickened his pace through the trees, his rainbow wings fluttering nervously.

It was then that the Zymph spied something - moving and rather colorful. Nis identified them quickly; wings. He moved as steathily as was possible now to get better site of the Sarus who was now moving quite quickly through the woods.

And soon Nisrah was in plain sight as well. An overly-tall, masked, and altogether scary someone to meet in the woods. Never mind that Nis wasn't scary in disposition.

Not only was he apparently scary to most Oaxunians, he was also classified as a Dark counterpart. Something Nisrah really didn't appreciate too much. It was much too trivial to the Zymph - Dark and Light. So... stereotyphical, really.

Turning from his rather absentminded state, Nis turned to survey the Sarus. "Where are you going?" It was a question out of pure curiousity, but Nis immediately bit back on his tongue. If this Sarus seriously did think him to be the Big Bad Wolf then that hadn't exactly been a good thing to say.

Goya soon realised he had been running in completely the wrong direction. Obviously he wasn't too good at the whole directional hearing thing because out of the undergrowth came a gigantic being which towered over him and blocked his path.
The young Sarus made a frightened little chirp and froze. He could not go forward without passing the creature and he couldn't run back in the direction he came from without turning his back. And the forest floor was too densely overgrown on either side of them, so any attempt to run that way would surely slow him down or trip him. He could always transform and fly away, but that was a last resort.

Upon closer inspection he recognised the creature to be a Zymph. He had never met one in person before as they didn't usually come to the city where he lived. Still he had heard that while fearsome in appearance, the Zymph were not as aggressive as other dark creatures, maybe if he explained his case, this one would let him pass.

"I-I was heading to the Sarus settlement over yonder." he said shakily, his nervous stammer rearing its ugly head.

Eykka turned curiously to find the source of the unfamiliar voice, and was shocked to see a enormous male zymph standing in front of a male sarus.

Eykka took a few steps forward hesitantly, remembering that she could have chosen to reside with the zymphs if she had tried to befriend them, but it was not what she wanted. She wanted to live alone for now. She recalled that zymphs took in the outcasts thrown away for petty reasons like homosexuality, and knew that they had probably given love and care to those whom needed it the most. However, she could see the fright on the sarus's face, and wondered if this zymph wasn't very happy today.

Eykka took a few more steps with the mengu still on her shoulders. "Um, excuse me,' Eykka began, cursing herself for the fact her voice cracked, "Is everything okay?" Eykka looked over at the zymph and bowed her head slightly, in respect of what the zymphs had done to take care of the wrongfully outcast.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "I see." Nisrah replied, gazing down at the Sarus through his mask. He wasn't exactly sure why he'd chosen to confront the Sarus, but he had. Nisrah wasn't even that interested in socialties. Not unless they were with the flora and fauna, that was. He hoped he wasn't scaring the Sarus too badly, and felt slightly bad about it, but curiousity had gotten to him. Curse curiousity.

His head snapped up as he realized that there was yet another person around in the woods. "Everything is fine." He replied, raising a brow in invisible facial expression under his mask at the Chorda's respect. He had noticed that she had no horn. An outcast. He could care less, really. She obviously wasn't with his people.

So now he had two scared, younger Oaxunians before him. Perfect. They both looked as if they thought he just might stab them with his spear and eat them for lunch, too. Such fantasies were beyond Nis. He watched them with a level-headed gaze, standing completely still as if even the slightest movement might scare them off. As if he were hunting. It was all too second-nature by now.

(( Kyah~ School's pretty busy. Sorry for the late reply! ))

Was it even worth going to find out whom it was? Eris sighed leaping tree to tree in a stealthy manner. If she were careful she would only have to peek. Curiosity had won out this time.

The pretty little Anwen approached, as voices got louder. Sitting atop a tree nearby concealed in the branches the anwen looked on, two lights and a dark. Eris tried to recall who each was, a sarus, Chorda, and a zymph. The Saurs and Chorda looked like they would turn tail and flee any moment while as scary as that mask the zymph wore he didn’t look like he was in an aggressive posture.

The child watched it was rather amused her.

Eykka gazed at the zymph, her manner becoming slightly more relaxed. This one didn't seem particularly hostile, but she still kept her guard up. People could be good at concealing their true intentions, this much the chorda definitely knew.

She looked about herself slowly and noticed she had dropped her knife on the ground. She didn't reach for it, for the zymph may receive the wrong impression. She let it lay there, but prayed silently that this encounter didn't take a turn for the worst.

Eykka turned her head sideways to look at the sarus, nodding her head at him in greeting. Turning her attention back to the zymph, she wished to know more about him and his kind, and knew that this was a foolish desire to plague her. Yet, she knew an opportunity like this may not happen again anytime soon, and, she should act friendly but not overly, and keep up her guard.

She calmly stated, "I was hunting for mengu earlier, and I believe we have to many to carry to the market ourselves." She slipped a generously sized mengu that she had killed off her shoulder and offered it to the large zymph. "You can take it if you'd like. We have more than enough already."

Eris laguhed, the brown chorda looked like she was offering her kill to save her life. How silly. And the Saurs looked like he would pee himself any second. But after a while all they had been doing was staring at each other... Eris rolled her eyes this was getting boring.

With a flick of her tail she dashed off leaping on the branches to another part of the forest.

Silly fools.

Tal wandered about searching for food as was his usual routine. Life had become hard for the young Ehalu after his master died. He was doing well enough fending for himsef, but it wasn't the same.

There were an unusual number of people in the forest today. Tal Riel nearly ran into a few of them. He did his best to avoid them. He didn't know whether or not they'd cause him harm. He could always escape, but he really had no place to go at the moment. He'd eventually come back to the woods.

Tal was in luck. He found a bush full of ripe raspberries. He started to eat his fill and only paused to drink out of the jug of water he brought with him.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 10, 2007 11:24 am

Eris stopped on the tree above the Ehalu, something was making a funny noise. The young Anwen flicked her fluffy blue tail and looked around. Were the heck was that munching noise coming from? Eris thought leaping down silently to the ground behind the Ehalu her back facing the hungry child.

Dark blue ears perked as the noise had become louder. A brief wondering crossed her mind. Why was she even bothering to look? Eris rolled her eyes. Must be really bored and not know it.

Turning her head behind her she noticed a brown furred yellow haired creature eating from the bush of raspberries. It was an Ehalu… Eris narrowed her blue eyes, remembering something she had been trying to forget for quite some years now. “Stupid” she muttered quietly under her breath.

Maybe she should just go home and get some fish. Thats a better idea, mm maybe she should steal something from him. But by the looks of him he didn't have much to take. How annoying. I should just go home. She finally decided.

"Hmm?" Tal stood up. He had though he had heard something, but he couldn't tell what it was. He allowed himself to go intangible for a moment while he examined the area around him. He walked through trees and bushes without making a sound. He didn't want to be discovered. He was sure there would be creatures of darkness in these woods.

After finding nothing he calmed down and went back to his things. He packed some berries and took out a parchment. He marked where the bush was. He was making a map of the forest and marking the places that had food. He then went and found a rather large stick. Tal pulled out a knife and started to sharpen the stick with it. He then started to move north towards the river.

((Sorry that took so long.))

Eris paused once more to turn, a mischievous idea popped into her head. She flicked her tail once and then followed the light silently. The little Anwen flipped herself acrobatically back into the trees and continued to follow from there. She blinked seeing him scribble something down on a piece of parchment. What’s that? She wondered.

From her lofty perch in the tree she saw he seemed to be making something sharp out of a stick while he walked. A spear or something maybe. She’d find out soon enough.

What was he doing here anyway?

Tal Riel finished sharpening the sitck he had with the rock. He packed up his things, grabbed the stick and headed west. After traveling about a quarter mile he came to low running river. In the river Tal could see some dark colored fish swimming about. They blended in with their enviroment almost perfectly. Tal had to look closely to spot them.

He threw his stuff near the river bank and started to roll up his pants. Once his pants where at knee level he went into the river with his sharpened stick. It took a little while, but he finally spotted a fish. He thrust the spear at it with all his might and missed. He sighed and watched the fish disappear from sight. After a moment of dissapointment he started to look for another fish.

Eris flicked her small blue ears back and watched as he tried to fish. She giggled, "You missed." she said leaping to a surrounding tree. "Don't you know how to fend for yourself?" she asked smirking; she swished her long fluffy blue tail and danced to the ground.

"Whatcha doing all by your self?" she asked "Besides failing to catch a single fish." She continued to leap around Tal Reil. He looked rather scruffy. Must not have anyone to take care of him, or he's just mesy.

As soon as he heard Eris speak he turned to face her. She leapt from one tree to another . He watched her carefully as he got out of the river and near his things. "Nothing. I'm just trying to catch a fish is all." Tal answered. He felt a little nervious with her leaping around him. He didn't like her movements at all . She seemed like she was getting ready to pounce on him any minute. He stood read to become intangible at any moment. "Why are you here?" He asked her as she continued to move from one tree to another.
