Here's my Libertarian viewpoint...

-Abortion: In general, I am opposed. In the US, the stages at which humans gain various legal protections should be set at the state level. The federal gov't (including the supreme court) should set only the broadest curbs on what states decide.

-Capital punishment: For, but only in clear cases where we know who did what and we are deciding how much blame to assign.

-Immigration laws: First we should allow healthy people to come to our country if they're willing to work, support themselves (and their families) and pay taxes. Then we should focus our enforcement effort on keeping out the sponges, the infectious, and the terrorists. Trying to ban millions of workers just creates a haystack within which dangerous people can hide.

-Gay rights: I'm all for gays having the same rights as everyone else. However, I am against special protections and privileges. I also think government should get out of the marriage licensing business entirely (eliminating all of its extra privileges and duties), so my acceptance of gay rights means they could call themselves married, but they wouldn't gain anything by it.

-Gun ownership: Somebody needs to own the guns, so it may as well be me. As my signature says, the most local level of gov't (in a free society) is an individual citizen. That means I get to carry police weapons to police my home, my personal space, my personal property etc. In addition, I may lend support to a neighbor if I can respond before a larger gov't entity.

-the war: I am glad we ousted Saddam. I wish that Congress had declared a bona fide war so its spineless members (most of them) would have been saddled with the responsibility for it. Even before the invasion started, I was writing to the President and his advisors about how to handle the occupation and nation building. Sadly, they only took some of my advice. What's happening there now is much like the North's reconstruction of the South after the American Civil War, right down to the militias and assassinations.

-the Three Strike Law: I am against. Laws carry their own penalties that should fit crimes. If we need bigger penalties, then change the sentencing clauses. The biggest problem with 3 strikes laws is that some rather stupid crimes are being counted (like being caught in the same car with someone carrying marajuana that isn't hurting anybody anyway).

-prayer in public schools: In a free and democratic society, there shouldn't even be any public (government) schools, any more than there should be gov't churches, gov't TV stations or gov't newspapers. If we don't stand for gov't monopolizing the flow of information via TV, radio, newspapers to adults, then why on Earth do we allow gov't to virtually monopolize information flowing to citizens least able to filter it? Education can be funded by other means, and then the question of prayer in school becomes a question of which school you choose.

-George Bush/d**k Cheney: d**k Cheney is the brains of the outfit. He should have been president.

-Euthanasia: With proper safeguards, it should be legal.

-Election Reform: Shatter the two party racket by enacting Approval Voting (AV) or Instant Round Robin Voting (IRRV, aka Condorcet).

- "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance: Rescind the whole codification of the pledge, and the presence or absence of the "under God" phrase ceases to be an issue. The gov't of a free country shouldn't be putting words into its citizens' mouths anyway.

- Nationalizing Health Care: The problems and high costs of health care in the US are caused by bad laws and over-regulation. Gov't would turn a tragedy into a catastrophe if it used the unintended consequences of its prior intrusions as an excuse to take over completely. Instead, what we need is to erase thousands of pages of state and federal laws and regs.

And here's the opinion of a Fascist

-Abortion
Illegal for female fetuses, legal for male fetuses.

Compulsary if fetus is found to be genetically inferior, or parents have severe heriditery disease.

-Capital punishment
Legal, and used frequently.

None of the sissy quick and painless killings, slow tortured deaths broadcast in public and shown on television.

-Immigration laws
Restrictions on whom may enter, all immigrants must go under a nationalization process, and speak enlish completely fluently, understand the laws of the nation, and swear loyalty to the state.

-Gay rights
Let them have their marriages, just as long as they arn't allowed to adopt children.

-Gun ownership
Fully support guns for men. All men should be conscripted into the military when they are of age and learn responsibility and training for such firearms.

-the war
Support, although I think you should be invading Venesualva instead of Iraq

-the Three Strike Law
Stupid, should be a One Strike law. You make one mistake, and you will be executed. Unless it is a petty crime, in which case you will be punished by a flogging, no more fines, just 5 minutes of being whipped in public, with your trousers down.

-prayer in public schools
Only if the prayers are patriotic, embrace the state, and is done accordingly to the state religion.

-Euthanasia
Should be compulsary on all patients deemed beyond repair. Should also be compulsary for retiree's and the retarded.

-Abortion: Read in Time Magazine that a study found that anti-abortion laws had no affect on the rates, so for the sake of safety I am pro-choice.

-Capital punishment- Only for the worst of crimes (treason, mass murder, serial killers,etc.).

-Immigration laws: Amnesty for the illegals already here, and maybe an expansion of immigration for those arriving.

-Gay rights: There people last time I checked, and with my belief in separation of church and state, then they have the same rights of everyone else.

-Gun ownership: Still thinking this over, but for the most part people don't need military grade weapons at least.

-the war: Mistake to go in, but we need to figure out what to do to settle it before we leave.

-the Three Strike Law: Not completely sure what this is, but for what I do know they need to be lessened and more sensible, maybe even taken of the books.

-prayer in public schools: Moment of silence solves this problem.

-George Bush/d**k Cheney: Will be out in a year, so nothing left to do but wait for them to leave. Overall I think they just bumbled around and set some dangerous precedents for future presidents.

-Euthanasia: Still debating with myself over this.

-Abortion- In the case of rape or incest, abortion should be allowed in the first trimester. If the mother's life is threatened by the pregnancy, abortion should be allowed in the second or third trimesters. Other times or reasons just feel morally inexcusable to me. This issue should probably be left to each state to decide.

-Capital punishment- I am firmly in favor of capital punishment. Of course, I would also like to see punishments that put the "unusual" in "cruel and unusual", like drowning them in a tub of chocolate ice cream or something. In all seriousness, though, crimes such as murder have only one real effective deterrent, and that is death. After all, I've never heard of someone who was executed becoming a repeat offender. Think about it.

-Immigration laws- They've seesawed between being relaxed and strict throughout the history of the country. Honestly, as long as immigrants aren't coming in to cause trouble, I couldn't care less.

-Gay rights- They have the right to be gay. However, I have the right to point and laugh uproariously. Leave this issue to the states.

-Gun ownership- I am fully in favor of every person in this country owning a gun. However, I should be the only one with bullets.

-the war- I support any action which will protect American interests, whatever the reasons given at the time it started.

-the Three Strike Law- There are problems. Stealing pizzas counts as a felony. Get caught on three occasions stealing a pizza, and you go to gaol for life. However, I also see the point in making sure repeat offenders can only repeat a few times.

-prayer in public schools- The students should not be forced to pray, but they should be allowed to pray if they want to. I know some religions have mandates that make this issue difficult for the students who are caught in the middle. As long as they're not disrupting a class, it shouldn't even be an issue. There's no matter of separation of church and state, even if that was Constitutionally binding, which it is not.

-George Bush/d**k Cheney- I fully support the President. And you have to love a vice-president who shoots his hunting partners. The guy's like a role model.

-Euthanasia- There are many youth in Asia. However, there is no "right to die". You can choose to refuse treatment, or just take painkillers, but there's no point in hurrying it along.

-Social Security- This is my hot button topic. Stop using Social Security for "emergency funds". It was created for one purpose, set aside for one purpose, and now those bas----s in Congress are using it like it's their own private piggy bank. If I'm going to be forced by law to pay into a retirement fund for the rest of my working life, I want to actually see that money again once I retire. If they don't fix things soon, in less than a decade there will be no money left in the fund.

I'm DM, and I'm a registered Republican.

Abortion- Pro-choice because it's not my body so I shouldn't be able to say it's wrong or right. Keep it clean and legal.

Capitol Punishment- I'm not in favor of it.

Immigration Laws- Doesn't matter to me, I don't want to pick produce anyway.

Gay Rights- A person is a person, no matter who they love.

Gun Ownership- You can have them, but no bullets except in secure locations.

The War- Against the war, but supportive of the soldiers.

Prayer in Public School- They are welcome to it, just don't make me do it.

George Bush/d**k Cheney- WORST. PRESIDENT. EVER.

Euthanasia- Only if said in full awareness prior to event.

Social Security- Never privatize it. It will be a trillion dollar deficit over all eternity, so stop trying to destroy it.

Abortion- Pro-life a baby is not a Parasite!

Capitol Punishment- I'm in favor of it.

Gay Marriage- It Doesn't Marriage anywhere in the Constitution

Gun Ownership- Second Amendment Right

The War- Meh

Prayer in Public School- They are welcome to it.

George Bush/d**k Cheney- I can sort of stomach them, though it feels like I just ate some sheet rock.

-Abortion-support, though adoption should be considered first.
-Capital punishment-increase
-Immigration laws-restrict incoming immigrants to those of a higher education status. Illegals should be dealt with using the harshest of methods.
-Gay rights- they have rights, they don't need more.
-Gun ownership-support. Take the guns away and you make the people easy targets for criminals.
-the war-support. You would have to be completely blind to not see why it is a good thing
-the Three Strike Law-support
-prayer in public schools-separate those who want to pray from those who don't and give both an allotted amount of time to do with what they want.
-George Bush/d**k Cheney-support. Question me on this and I will chew you a new one.

Abortion- Keep it clean and legal. Coat hangers are too messed up.

Capitol Punishment- I'm not in favor of it, and too many innocent die because of a flawed system.

Immigration Laws- Doesn't matter to me, I don't want to pick produce anyway.

Gay Rights- A person is a person, no matter who they love. Give them the rights and join the rest of the world.

Gun Ownership- You can have them, but no bullets except in secure locations.

The War- Against the war, but supportive of the soldiers.

Prayer in Public School- Pray all you like, just don't force it.

George Bush/d**k Cheney- Kinda miss them, not because I liked them but I miss Bushisms.

Euthanasia- I have no problem with the youth in Asia. Wait, I'm using an old, overused joke? Shame...

Social Security- Never privatize it. It will be a trillion dollar deficit over all eternity, so stop trying to destroy it.

Abortion- your body, your decision, your choice.

Capital Punishment- hellllzzzz no, not religious, but who are we to play god. Side note all those who say there against abortion but for capital punishment and believe in a religion, you see the flaw with your views I hope.

Immigration Laws- As a Canadian Citizen, we welcome all citizens, and we need perhaps just a few stricter laws, and improvement on our system, it's not fair those who have to wait on us.

Gay Right- Do your thing, I'll do mind. Just know, I don't swing that way.

Gun Ownership- heh. In Canada this debate is huge. My views are that people should have guns for hunting purposes and to enjoy, so firearms : rifles, shotguns, bows, and whatnot. Hunting is permitted, firing ranges great.
Gun in public, however, you going to the big house my friend. Long time..

The War- Pffttt, what war? Afghanistan? We need to improve our forces dramatically, I am tired of the world looking at Canada, our forces and saying wow, they suck. However, we supporting and fixing their messes. What happened after WWII were we had the 3rd greatest air force 5th greatest navy, and and army that was capable and respected.
Bah, Pearson killed that with his bid to get noticed though peacekeeping.
And we're not good at that anymore.
SO i say more spending on technology and advancement of our forces.
So We can be prepared, and not hitch a ride with the US, when the sh!* hits the fan.

Prayer in public school- it's public, free country, you go for it. But don't try to sell me that rubbish.

George Bush and Cheney- the thing i don't get about American politics, which i find unbelievable stupid, is that there are only two parties. Why? So i get to pick Bad and worse? I laughed at Bush too many times to count, how did he get there if he can't form a sentence. But i do give credit to his speech writer. If you go back and read his speeches, you realize the words that he said, and mispronounced, made sense. A lot of sense.

Euthanasia- Just kill the poor sod all ready.

HUGE NOTE: if you actually read this thing you see that im suddenly switching tunes, however that is not the case. If your a criminal, im not going to kill you for you deeds, because that's the easy way out, you will suffer, in a cell doing labor, everyday. If it's that hard a crime.

Euthanasia is about a being that's dieing ever so slowly. Pain and anguish. Those who believe in religion, say no. to hell with them let me put them in a situation where there dying or they can never function normally. Where they suffer every second and it feels like years when minutes go by.

SOCIAL SECURITY: hells yes. It's a public thing. Well I'm Canadian, and i see nothing wrong with the sector, just the way it's being administered. You see people will take advantage , that a fact. However social security helps you get back on your feet.

Three Strikes rule- Bullsh!* my view you do hard crime, your going to do hard time. Petty theft? you pay the fine, you do the hours, light year or two. like guys everyone will make mistakes, and we have a allot of laws that are quite down right stupid. For life. However if it's a repeat offener of small crimes you just keep adding on to his jail time.

though I'm going to join the liberal party soon, im just too lazy to do so.

Also: Environment legal efforts: We need green laws, big time. We need green energy. Gov't need to jump on that
