Canada recently went in the way opposite to that of America, and gave Nunuvat(sp?) back to the injuns'. Or eskimos, I mean... okay, Inuits. whee

Stalin, while trying to make a puppet government for Poland after WWII after kicking the Germans out, said that trying to install communism in Poland was like trying to fit a cow with a saddle.

George Washington and his army camped at Jockey Hollow in New Jersey and Washington himself stayed in Morrris Town at the estate of one Mr. Morris. (All that stupid NJ history they crammed into my head might be paying off...)

During the War of 1812, some Americans advoated taking over Canada; their attempts to do so were a failure, in part because of a lack of a central army: in some instances the New York militia, for example, refused to leave New York even when needed for a battle.

The Green Mountain Boys, a militia led by Ethan Allen, took Fort Ticonderoga(sp?) and were instrumental in establishing Vermont as a state

Jaimai40 The Green Mountain Boys, a militia led by Ethan Allen, took Fort Ticonderoga(sp?) and were instrumental in establishing Vermont as a state Vermont, a word which comes from the French "green mountain" (what a coincidence), is the 14th state and the state that 2004 presidential contender, the Democrat Howard Dean, comes from.

Vermont is a state in the United States, which gained independence from Britain while being led by George Washington, who only joined the Yanks because the British wouldn't promote him after the French and Indian War.(Or something like that. sweatdrop )

Speaking of the British, almost all of their bloody bathroom sinks have 2 faucets. One for hot, one for cold. It was not a fun week.
