Kean stared at Jazz one moment longer before bending down to nuzzle her neck. He took a deep breath before letting her go. he turned to his bowing son and offered him a hand. "i'm..... sorry. I get... protective and when you hugged her i....sorry." he pulled Jazz to his feet then walked behind Lily to nuzzle her neck again.
woah he just apologized... a baby?! "a baby?" he stared at his parents for a moment. "i'm gonna have a baby brother or sister?" at first he doubted he'd heard mom right but after looking at the way dad was acting it made sense. "woah!" he started to go sit down but " Hey, Mom if you don't want to have a cookout that's totally fine! i mean we don't want to upset you or anything. if you guys wanna go out and have some time together that's fine. i'll take care of the house and we'll order out pizza. i can't believe you're going to have a baby!" he collapsed in his chair.
Kean chuckled at his son. he looked like he'd been hit in the head with a 2x4. he nuzzled Lily. "we could go out to the cabin while the huma...uh.. guys are taking over our house." he suggested to her. He enjoyed trips out to the cabin that was on the other side of their property. it was right on the edge of a lake. beautiful.
Shadow smiled his dangerous smile. "i'll take....solids. and here's to a solid hit." he said raising one of the other men's beers to her. then he quickly started the game. he managed to put three solids in the holes before he didn't quite hit the cue hard enough and it lost momentum. he stood to the side out of her way. as she bent over to play he examined her rear. "nice a**." he commented just as she began her shot.

As Riley bent down to take her shot she could feel eyes on her backside. It's a room full of men...what did you expect? She ignored the mysterious man's comment that she was sure was probably an attempt to throw her off and she took the perfect shot that was set up and sank two stripes at once. "Glad I could entertain you." She said as she examined the table picking her next shot. A couple of shots later and it was all tied up 3 to 3 and it was his turn.
"Don't worry about it! I'm pretty sure I can manage a little cook out Jazz." She said laughing to herself at how these men were falling over themselves to help her.

well, well, well. his opinion of her rose another notch. he took his shot, sank 2 and then scratched the cue. he cursed quietly before letting her take her turn.
"are you sure? absolutly possitive? i don't want to stress you out or anything. this is amazing!" Jazz shook his head.
Kean sighed. he really liked the solitude of the cabin. "maybe we can all go to the cabin once the baby's born?" he asked wistfully. before giving himself a shake and bringing his mind back to the real world. Jazz, if we're going to have a cookout we're going to need supplies. we have enough hamburgers but we need hotdogs, buns, pop....what else?"
"Fries!" he said with enthusiasm. "we can get the old deep fryer out and make fries! and chips! what'dya think mom?"

Riley smiled and walked up to take her turn. She sank one of her own but sadly it was close to a solid and they both sank in. Just as she was about to take her next shot one of the guys who was particularly drunk decided to make the mistake of grabbing Riley's a** which caused her to miss the cue. With that she whipped around pressed the stick to the man's chest and pushed him against the wall. "Not without my permission." She growled her eyes glowed slightly. Not enough so everyone would notice unless they were looking. The guy nodded and Riley let go. "Your turn..."
"Of course we will Kean." She said and gently kissed Kean before turning back to Jazz. "Sounds great.As long as you don't mind going and picking up the stuff."

"of course not! this is going to be so cool! thanks." he started to leave the kitchen then turned back. "i'm done with my homework so i'l go get the stuff now if that's alright."
Kean nodded "don't be to long."
"you know i will!" he laughed as he ran up to his room and grabbed his wallet and keys. then he went out and got in his car. it was a nice car. nothing to fancy.it was a 98 taurus. not bad. but not the best. he started her up and went off to the store.
Kean sighed. "there's nothing like an empty house to bring the spirits down. i think i'll be happy to see it full again. even if it is full of humans..."he growled. " i mean...kids."
he hadn't been truly watching her during her exchange with the drunkan man. but when she turned back he caught a glimpse of her eyes. he quickly focused on her. he leaned in close, studying her face. looking for the flash of changed eyes. he took a deep breath. she smelled sweat and beer but there seemed to be a slightly spicy undertone that he'd come to associate with the monsters. it was gone to soon however and he couldn't be sure. still pressed uncomfortably close to her he murmured. "hmmmm... now just who are you i wonder." as he turned towards the pool table he kept watch on her from the corner of his eye. he whispered one word, full of hate, as he bent to take his shot. "lugaru"

Damn it... Riley thought. Stupid hunters always ruining a good time... She glared at the man and carefully reached towards her pocket to set off the ring. She pulled it out and pretended to check it. "I've gotta take this...here." She said handing the stick to motorcycle man. "I'll be back." She added though she had no intention of coming back.
She rushed out the door opening her phone as did. She was about to call Kean but decided he might be a little bit pissed about her attracting a hunter so she called Jazz instead.
"Yes, I agree, a fuller house would be nice." She agreed. The big house with only 3 people sometimes 4 was a little too quiet.

jazz pulled into his parking spot as his phone went off. he picked it up thinking it would be one of the guys. "hello?" he was surprised it was Riley.
"well, Beloved. i'm afraid i have to get back to work." Kean sighed. he kissed her on the cheek and hugged her gently. savoring the feel of her in his arms. "would you like to go for a run when i'm done?" he asked as he kissed the top of her head.
shadow made his shot. put the pool stick on the table and followed her out the door.

"Hey" She said quietly and glanced over her shoulder to see the hunter had followed her. "Listen don't ask any questions Jazz, just meet me in your car at Main Street and...5th." She said making a quick turn on 5th and added, "Hurry." Then she snapped it close hoping the boy would just do as she had asked. She picked up her pace some though she still wasn't running.
"Alright, sounds good dear." Lily said. "Don' work too hard now." She said and kissed him.

Riley didn't sound right. Jazz thought a moment then pulled out of his parking space and made his way toward 5th and Main as fast as was legal. he pulled into a parking lot under a 'quick-E-mart' and waiting.
Kean walked off to his study humming to himself. when he sat back down at his computer, he checked his email. logged back on to the company's website and went to work.
Shadow followed the woman. not to closely that she would panic, but not so far behind thta he chanced losing her in the warren that was downtown.

Riley knew he was still following as she neared Main street. She choose it because she knew there would be more people there. She scanned the area and finally found Jazz's 98 Taurus. Once it was in sight she decided to go ahead and run. She flung open the passenger door and shouted, "GO!" pulling the door shut as she got in.

confused but spurred on by Riley's command he quickly shifted into drive and made a very dangerous left turn onto the street. he left squealing tires and blaring horns behind him as he quickly got out of the area. when they got on the highway, taking a roundabout way home he turned to her. "what the hell?" his voice mingled anger and fear at her strange behavior.
Shadow stood in the place where the car had sat. he stared at the place it had turned. so, there are monsters here. maybe i should find a hotel. with that thought and the make,model, and liscense plate number of the car branded in his memory, he made his way back to the bar to pick up his car.

Riley looked behind them and saw nothing that looked suspicious following. "Don't worry, just a hunter I think, but dont worry we lost him... might have to get rid of your car though." She joked as she relaxed back in the seat. "Don't go straight home by the way...just in case."

"i'm not stupid!" he snapped as he got off on one of the exits. " a hunter? you're sure? did he recognize you?" Jazz worried as he drove. taking several twisting turns and taking two drives through parking garages before finally getting back on the road to his house.

"Yeah...I got a little angry and well now we're here." She said taking another look over her shoulder. "But I don't think he's anything to worry your parent's with...they're busy enough." She added.

"you must be joking." he said as he pulled up to the back of the house. "not tell dad? not tell him there's a hunter here in the city? you've GOT to be joking." he shook his head as he climbed out of the car and walked into the kitchen. "mom! Mom! Dad?" he called as he walked into the livingroom.
