The manga and anime goes towards different paths, and so, the anime ends the way it does because they decided to end the series at episode 26 (most anime's end somewhere around that number). The anime and manga has the same THEME in the story, but they both portray it in different ways.
So I'm not going to compare the anime to the manga because technically, they're not the same. I personally like the ending to the anime because it concluded everything. No cliffhangers, no loose ends. I find it sad how Dark has to disappear though...

I know I've most likely already replied
to this thread, and all-- but. . .well. . .
I decided to pay attention to the ending
anime credits, and I could've sworn it
was copywritten in 2oo4. >< And back
then, the manga wasn't too far out,
right? I could just be oblivious to the fact
of the Manga in japan releasing before
due to shippment, editing, revising, ect;
But still, the manga wasn't nearly as far
three years ago; so. . .couldn't that be
a semi-good explanition to the anime--
not to mention how it ended? 8DD

Tears_of_Pain_666 Why do they stop it at the kiss and dark disappearing when in the manga they continue past that point a little bit. I love the anime but if you ask me, the ending sucks. stressed What does everybody else think? To put it simply, supply just happened to meet demand. The anime may not have been popular enough to warrant a second season and it ran for 26 episodes already. 26 is half a year of anime, 52 is 1 year and so on. Also, it probably didn't have enough material to continue on for an entire year. Anime has to be crammed into either a quarter or half year chunks.

They could have made the ending a little bit nicer. I mean to Dark's case. He can't just disappear without a promise to come back. T^T
The DaiRiku part was cute, indeed. And I guess Risa finally got over Dark. (Not that he's gone that is... stare )
The SatoRisa part kinda confused me but eh, works for me. As long as she doesn't fantasize about Dark anymore.

anime is supposed to be an adaptation of the manga. NOT an imitation.
altho the anime story sucks, krad gets to appear so many more times than he did in the manga.

Don't you think that they killed the ending for us? Like... "Woah! He ends up with Riku?!" =O
Just a thought...
The SatxRisa bothered me so much. I want to know a little more about what's going to happen. Not the whole story, but just... A freakin HUG atleast! Or an awkward moment together saying, "Uh.. Hi?", and a friendly smile from Satoshi. Not Risa... Ugh!

I like the anime, but it's not half as good as the manga. Not even that.
It's too choppy, too rushed, and the animation keeps changing which is irritating. Not to mention extra more annoying characters like Mio.

 I agree....it sucks......it should continue on.........i mean the manga still has Dark in it.....and in the anime......nobody knows for sure wut happens to Dark.....that bites like heck

I liked the ending but I wish they would have shown more of what happened to everyone after Dark disappeared. I would have liked to know if Satoshi and Risa did in fact get together because it was hinted at and Did With disappear too
