Air of the Turks dismounted from the Shin-Ra helicoptor that had just returned him from Upper Sector 6--more specifically, from the Atriand Opera House in Upper Sector 6, which currently held the distinguished place of having seen more assassinations than any other single location on Earth. Three guesses as to what he had been up to.

Calmly shaking his messy, lightly black longish hair out of his face (only to have the strong wind blow it back), he made his way toward the staircase, stepping into the President's... floor. Making his way toward the twin staircases leading downward, out of said floor, he opened the door to the Vice-President's office, intending to let Rufus know that the job he'd requested was done.

Instead of Rufus, however, he found a crowd of strangely painted women and mutilated teddy bears. Ehren blinked a couple of times, and closed the door again.

He decided that the cafeteria sounded like a good place to be at the moment.

Raine sat in the cafeteria, boots propped up on the table, leaning back in her chair to the point of falling backwards, sipping at a soda absentmindedly. Anyone who knew the Turk would find this odd. For once she was alone.
Generally she was never seen without Roma, her dear partner. But the man was sleeping off a rather bad hangover from last night, so here she sat in the cafeteria, bored and contemplating on causing some kind of chaos just to have something to do; consequences be damned.
However, in the end she figured she was quite comfortable where she was and that moving was sounding like a less favorable option with each passing moment. That meant boredom stayed. She shrugged and pulled the lid off the now-empty cup, fishing out a piece of ice and throwing it over her shoulder, not caring who it hit.

Kim and Reeve sat down at one of the tables. Reeve had his usual coffee and Kim had her usual large Pepsi. Reeve told her all about what he was doing lately, but Kim tried to avoid telling him about the party. She figured it would be a surprise and so she tried to keep her mouth shut.

The list of things to do zoomed in her head and she tried to think of a good way to get everything done on time. Perphaps assign certain people to different tasks... yeah, that would be good...

Suddenly, something cold hit her on the back. Kim yelped, more so at being surprised than cold. She turned around and saw another Turk, sitting a little ways behind her. Kim didn't recognize the Turk at all and wasn't sure if she should introduce herself right away. Kim was sure the woman heard her shout, and would turn around at any second.

Raine blinked a couple of times and turned around, coming ever closer to falling over backwards by doing so. She spotted Reeve and a Turk she didn't readily recognize.
"Ah, sorry," she said, sheepish grin in place, "guess I didn't throw far enough to hit the table of stuck-up suits over there." Normally she would have just shrugged and thrown another piece of ice, but well, it was a fellow Turk (and Reeve, she had nothing against him) that she hadn't meant to hit in the first place.
She noticed a somewhat questioning look on the woman's face, which meant she didn't recognize Raine either. Good, so it's not just my bad memory. Having a bad memory when it came to remembering faces (names were somehow not a problem) was quite annoying. You always had to worry if you were going to offend someone by asking if you've met them before or not. Plus, it served as extra teasing material for Roma, who used it as further proof she was an 'old-timer.' Raine sat up straight and turned around, holding out a hand for an introductory handshake. "The name's Raine."

Air walked in on the cafe just as a glint of light went flying back into a sitting brunette--Kim. She yelped in surprise as the source--what seemed to be a block of ice--bounced off her shoulder blade on to the floor, and everybody's attention directed themselves to her for a split second, before going back to their own businesses.

The offender turned around and started apologizing in a somewhat sincere manner--it was Raine, a Turk he'd only met a couple of times, though knew her better from her browsing through her files, as he did with everybody's. Heck, he even knew Hojo's mother's name--though he was rather surprised to find out that the man even had a mother.

He sauntered over toward the buffet set out, and decided on just sticking with the crab bisque. Grabbing a section of a baguette and a pepper grinder, he headed over to the table that Kim was sitting at and settled down next to the man she was sitting across from--none other than the Head of Urban Development.

"Kim," he nodded. "And Mr. Tuesti." A note of good-natured teasing entered his voice as he acknowledged Reeve. "And if it isn't Raine, as well." He smirked with another tease playing on his lips, not expecting her to remember his name. "And how is everybody, today?"

Kim instantly forgave Raine, seeing that she really meant to hit no one of consequence. She would have done the same thing if she were bored... but aim purposly for the group of secretaries that were now snickering at her. Kim shook her hand and smiled warmly, "Hello, I'm Kim. Nice to meet you."

Just then, she spotted Air on line, picking up some sort of soup. She didn't bother to see what was there to eat and her stomache rumbled in the process. After getting everything he needed, Air took a seat next to Reeve.

Kim sighed, tiredly smiling at Air, "I just got assigned a party to plan by Rufus. He just dumped it on me at the last second and now all the Turks have to help plan this. Well, almost all the Turks. The top four went with Rufus." Kim wiped her hands on her napkin absently, "I would appreciate it you would help... a sensible person would do us all some good."

"Nice to meet you as well." Raine returned Kim's smile and gave a quck wink, pulling five pieces of ice and flinging them with unerring accuracy at the group of five snickering secertaries, trying to hide a smirk as they yelped. Some of them turned around to glare, but recieved only a cheerful wave in response.
Sometimes the accuracy needed to use her throwing daggers was useful at times other than combat.
Air made his appearence, bringing food with him as he sat next to Reeve. "Why if it isn't Air." Raine said, mirroring his smirk. She did in fact remember his name, though it must be admitted it took a few moments to remember. An eyebrow raised slightly as Kim explained about the party. "Party planning, huh? Sounds fun."

"Mr. Tuesti?" Reeve replied with a smile playing on his lips. "Since when have you ever called anybody by their last name--Mr. Arkenseel?" He laughed quietly.

Rainea Ashton, another Turks he hadn't formally met, seemed, if anything, eager to get in on the conversation, though where this had turned into a party plan was slightly beyond Reeve.

He turned to Kim. "So, when did this happen? I mean, the Turks getting their hands on the Annual Party? Isn't that usually taken care of by Rufus?"

"Yes, usually," Kim nodded, turning back to Reeve. "But Rufus was on his way out with no aparent time to plan the party coming. You know how much of a procrastinator he can be." Kim rolled her eyes.

"So, being at the wrong time and place, I got roped into planning the party. Along with any helpful Turks as well."

"I hope the others are cooling down, we need to start diving up the tasks."

OoC: Edited my last post a little. As for what Natsumi eats, I'm just going to presume the FF7-verse has chickens in it. I can't bear the thought of eating a Chocobo.

_________________________________________________________________

There was a silence in the very white, teddy-bear-strewn office of Rufus Shin-Ra II. Normally Natsumi liked silence, but this sort was stretching it a bit.

"Um," Natsumi managed, a little awkwardly, breaking the tension. "I think ... I'll go look for Kim."

Wutai Girl - Extra? Auxiliary? Something - inclined her head in bored consent. Yane shrugged and articulated an "...all right." Natsumi turned on her heel and crossed the room, bulky combat boots clunking away on the polished floor beneath.

Stupid blond vice-presidents and their procrastination.

*

She stabbed at the 'down' button in the metallic lift panel with a manicured fingernail - with the expected effect.

"s**t." Natsumi scowled at her broken nail and stepped into the lift when it came to meet her. She leaned against the tinted glass wall, arms crossed, head angled a bit to look out over the gloomy grey myriad of old buildings that was Midgar. It didn't look very big from up here. If she squinted, she could see the outskirts, and a tiny dot on the horizon that might have been Kalm. The scenery was thoroughly unimpressive, and looked so forlorn she wondered just what on earth Reeve had been doing lately.

The doors opened again to admit her through, and she went. Three minutes of brisk walking took her to the cafeteria, a gigantic chamber that somehow managed to stay crowded despite poor quality in almost every aspect. Or maybe that was just her inner Shinra talking?

Natsumi hovered a little distance from the entrance, scanning the heads for blonde-tinted brown. A glint of light caught her eye, and there was Kim, seated with Reeve and two other Turks - Ehren and a female Turk she didn't know. Incidentally, they were all seated a little way from the group of secretaries that were shrieking their heads off about something cold and scrabbling at their backs. Kim was talking to Reeve, and the unknown Turk was snickering at the hapless fate of the secretaries.

Straightening her Formal!blouse -this one maroon, with fluffy white lining at the neck- and waist- line - Natsumi grabbed a chicken sandwich from the buffet table and made her way over to them. "Hi," she said, offering a half-smile in greeting to the group. "Can I join you guys for a while?"

"Hey!" Kim beamed, seeing Natsumi walk over with a chicken sandwich in her hand. "Sure, come sit down!" After spending but a few minutes in the company of the three Turks, Kim's mood was back to normal. "Is everything okay back there?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 25, 2005 12:21 am

Suddenly, Natsumi's mind was filled with mental images of a hyper Eville bouncing about the room, a sullen Yane hexing things here and there with Manipulate, and a hysterical Wutai Girl screaming her head off.

"Uh. I don't know. Well, I hope so. Hi, Reeve. Ehren," she nodded to the last two as she greeted them, and took a seat on Kim's other side. Natsumi offered an acknowledging half-smile to the unknown Turk, trying to remember her name. Snow? Definitely something to do with precipitation. Rain ... no, Raine. "And Raine, right?"

"Yeah."

"Ah. Nice to meet you."

Natsumi didn't quite know what to say now. She was feeling a little uncomfortable now, surrounded by happy, chattering people who seemed to have no apparent difficulty in making conversation. She took a bite out of the sandwich, swallowed and straightened a little.

"So. As stupid as the question sounds ... what's up?"

"Well, let's see..." Kim pulled out the piece of paper that had the outline on the party on it. "These things written here are what we need to figure out and carry out before the party." Kim smoothed the crunched paper and smiled before she continued. "Here's my list:

The Menu
The Room where the party is happening
The Decorations
The Invitations
The Amount of Alcohol"

Kim looked up, and then chewed on her thumb, "I don't know whether we should split up and get these things done, or do everything together. What do you guys want to do concerning this? And, do you have any ideas already?"
