Rai's house
3:46pm

Raine brushed her hair out of her eyes. He pencil hung limply from her hand as she stared lifelessly at the paper infront of her. HEr brain felt empty and dull, void of any creativity what-so-ever.

The morning broke

That was the extent of her masterpiece. The girl sighed, letting her eyes droop shut for a moment. Three weeks here, and she could do nothing better than three measly words. Her creativity had hit an all-time low, and her moral was even lower. Raine stretched out on her desk, feeling the warm caress of the sun against her back as it poured through the window. After a few minutes, she picked up her pencil.

The morning broke, causing a burst of sunlight to flood the frozen landscape with it's glory. The bright sun beat down on the ground, causing the snow to glisten like a crystal glacier.

She tapped her pencil on the desk in for rigorous beats. One brow furrowing, she stared at the paper. Words started to form on it, eluminating themselves to her. Urgently, lead imprinted them permenantly on the white sheet.

The morning broke, causing a burst of sunlight to cast it's splendor across the frozen barren landscape. The bright sun beat down on the ground, causing the snow to glisten like a crystal glacier. A drift of snow suddenly found itself being carried through the air to slide gracefully through an open window on the lower portion of the Church's basement. The newcomer brought a swift chill to the room and to its single inhabitant

Raine threw her pencil down in discust. Her glaze was filled with discust and self-loathing. "What am I thinking? I should have started directly with the character, like I normally do. This is a bunch of crap!"

"Anything you write can't be crap, Rainedrop." With a sharp intake of breath, Raine stood to her feet, causing her chair to crash to the ground and papers to scatter everywhere. The look of surprise on her face was genuine.

"Nier! What are you doing here?!" The boy was like a chiseled work of art. Everything from his streaked blonde hair to his leather boots was perfect. It was like he had just stepped out of a teen magazine to plop down in her doorway. An amused smile crossed Nier's face.
"What, a guy can't stop by to see his favorite girl once in a while?"

"But... but," Raine sputtered incoherently, still trying to take in the situation. "What are you doing here, in Rai's house?! What if he was home? He'd be furious! I can't believe you just-" Nier held up his hands in mock surrender. Nier rasied an eyebrow at her.

"What, you don't think I can take a kitty-boy or two? Puh-lease. Now, I came to take you to a movie, are you up for it or not?"

"Oh my...duh yes!" Raine squealed and made a break for the boy. "How come you didn't call?!"

"Because, I wanted it to be a surprise, what else?" The door closed softly behind them, leaving her room in clustered ruins, and a small baby alone sleeping in it's crib.

I. Cannot. Believe. This.

I'm back in Illinois! So much has happened over the last two weeks that I don'y know if it'll all fit here. About two weeks ago my parents picked me up at Rai's house and took Tariku and I to Orlando! That's right, Orlando, Florida! Krysti and Raven went too, and we all had a blast. I tried to explain the locket thing to my parents, but I don't think they believed me. They most likely believe that he was abandoned or was about to be a victim of abortion or something. Anyways, we saw my cousins and there were really great fireworks there. Tariku's eyes were as wide as I've ever seen them! He hasn't spoken yet, but I can't wait until he does.

Our vacation lasted roughly a week, and then it was back to Illinois for us~! It was soo great to finally sleep in my own bed again. The strange thing is, I couldn't go to sleep until my cat, Prince, jumped on my bed and started purring in my ear. It's got to be Rai's fault. That cat purrs too much. Anyways, Jeremie and Tariku both slept soundly the first mnight back. The rest of my week was consumed with balancing my new responsibility and getting ready for 10th grade. I'm a sophmore this year, can you believe it? My cousin's joining my school this year; he's a freshie now. It just makes me want to tease the living daylights out of him.

Now, dispite my new busy schedule, I'll still try to find tiem to write in you. You deserve to know about everything in my life. Speaking of which, I think I'll write a letter to that Jewelry Shop sometime... I never did get to go there, you know. If I'm lucky, my parents might let me fly down there so my little ganster and I can visit it.

Opps, Tariku's taking a little to much of an interest in my saxophone, so I better jam. Lets home he doesn't break my reed!

My story had gone down the drain. No matter how many books I read, still no inpiration comes. I think I'll take up writing/editing an old story I started writing a ways back. There's plently of mistakes in it, but all the hard work should be good for me. School starts this Monday - I can't wait! Blue and Gold day (The day we get our schedules) is tomorrow, so I'll be able to see everyone. Math Math Math~ I'm totally pumped up for College Algebra this year. TOTALLY PUMPED!! See? Like that. I wonder who's going to take care of Tariku when I'm at school though... Who knows? Maybe my mom could keep the little ganster or something. He's gained a bit of an attitude, and always wants his way. I'm trying to teach him about the word "Share" and "Raine's" right now, but I'm not having much luck. Still no words from him.

It's my mom's birthday today, and I can't wait until we can eat the cake I made. It looks really good right now.... Drat! Apparently Tariku thinks it look good too, cause he's making a beeline for it. Later!

My and Rai's house

Hello, long-neglected journal!

So much has happened since the last time I wrote here! I think it was a few months ago, actually. I lost you among the many unpacked boxes, and even when I did find you I was too ashamed to open you back up again. Yet, in the sake of our long-kept friendship, I have decided to overcome my feelings of shame to visit you again.

I don't know if I could fully express all the things that have happened to me since my last entry. See the location I marked? That's just one of the newest developments! I'll try to be organized and bullet all these new changes down for you.

1) Place Change. A little while after my last entry I moved back in with Rai. Another buisness trip, can you imagine that? No big though, I guess I'm used to it by now.

A week or two later and I was back in the old homeland. My parents had come home, and although I missed Mari and Rai (I know, figure me admitting that one!), I realized that my education was more important. The normality didn't last, however, as soon my parents were off another buisness trip (like I didn't totally expect that...), and I was grounded here at my house by the wonderous monster called school. I called up Mari one day out of complete boredom, and imagine who showed up at my house a few weeks later? That's right--Rai and Mari! Mari says it was because that Rai didn't approve of me staying on my own, but he denies it. Figures. Same-old same-old, right?

2) Tariku. The little boy's still a baby, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't fully appreciate the culture here! He's just starting to say a few words, and it's a blast having him here to keep me company. The little ganster is still my responsibility, even though Mari and Rai will occasionally look after him.

3) Bowling. Yup, you got that right. I'm now on my school's girl's JV bowling squad. And you know what? I'm also the worst on the team~ I'm getting a little bit better I guess... My highest score ever is a 109. Usually I get something more in the 70s. Pathetic, but true. On the flip side, Tariku's frequented to alley we practice at a bit, and you can sure tell he'll be popular with the ladies when he gets older! My friends don't really believe that I got him from a pendant (psht, they'll understand some day), but they accept him just as they would any cutie who comes to watch us bowl.

So anyways, I guess that's all for now. Much love, my wonderful companion--
Raine.

Raine and Rai's house
10:24 am

Raine stretched and rolled over on her bed, pulling the covers closer to her chin. A gentle hand tugged at the edge of her comforter, bringing the girl crashing to the cold floor.

"Tariku!" the girl exclaimed with an exhaustive sigh. The little boy tugged at the bottom of her flannel pajamas, trying to pull her into the next room. "What--oh, alright."

When they got to the next room they could see an older teen looking proudly at a lavishly-decorated living room. Holly was strung on every countertop, and colored paper covered the various lights, shedding hues of green and red across the room. A wreathe of mistletoe sat on top of a rather oversized teddy bear's head, a manger scene cradled in its lap. Small colored bulbs were merrily strung outside the large window. Raine took one look at the room, before panic started to seep in. Various lights and ornaments were pushed into a small pile on one side of the room. There was no evergreen tree to be found anywhere.

"Rai...what did you do with the Christmas tree?" The boy looked at her confused, running a puzzled hand through his black hair.

"What are you talking about?" Raine swallowed hard, a forced smile appearing on her face. She would not kill him, she knew. She could not kill him. At least, not yet. She didn't want Mari to sue her during the Christmas season. Of course, on second thought, Raine considered the fact that it might be worthwhile if just to get him out of her way.

"The...tree," she said quietly, struggling to keep her tone somewhat reasonable. "The Christmas tree I put up yesterday. The one that took me hours to decorate. The one I'm sure you wouldn't have touched, right?" Rai blinked, looking at her disbelievingly.

"So you were the one who put it there." A slow smile formed on his face. "Don't worry about it, I put it back outside."

"Outside?!" Raine rushed to the window to see, sure enough, her beloved Christmas tree standing proudly among its taller brethren. It seemed to wave cheerily in the slight breeze, as if greeting Raine from its new home.

"...so I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring a tree inside...'..." A thin layer of snow was already forming on the little tree's branches, the wind giving its limbs a soft sway. "...'...wouldn't it be much happier outside?' So I took off all this junk you put on it and took it outside, where it belong-"

"Rai," Raine tried to keep her voice as steady and calm as she could. "Please kindly bring my tree back inside before I hurt you." Tariku stumbled over to the ornaments and lights that were clumped in a pile. He looked down sadly at them.

"Christmas tree go buh-buh." Raine nodded seriously in agreement with the younster. Her eyesbrows raised as she spoke, her fury being expressed in her blue eyes.

"That's right Tariku. And Rai had better run fast before he goes buh-buh too."

Raine's abode
4:05 pm

It would seem that Raine has been too busy to update here recently, so I shall record the events of the past few days. Currently Raine, Rai, and Mari are all out doing some last-minute Christmas shopping.

Yes, it is that time of year again. In fact, it is Christmas Eve today. Imagine that, yes? Raine shall return home shortly, and when she does she will promptly drag her friends and Tariku off to Church for the Christmas Eve service. She seems to be a lot happier now that her school is on break, and I'm sure she'll remember to write in this here journal when the excitement dies down.

Speaking of Tariku, he's gotten quite big nowadays. He can only crawl as of yet, but he's starting to grasp the concept of some words. Raine's doing her best as a surrogate mother for the boy, but she's only a young teenage girl. It is fortunage that, while I haven't much experience with them, children seem to enjoy being around me.

While it has been nice writing with you, I must go feed Tariku. The little boy, it seems, would greatly appreciate his milk. His lungs certainly are in good shape. Maybe when he gets older he'll follow in Raine's shoeprints and add another singer to our little family. He's getting to be so handsome nowadays. When he gets older I'm sure he'll have no trouble at all finding himself a nice female who will join our already-growing family.

In hopes that I will write again in you soon,
Jer.
