im going to comence making my costumes this year and i could really use some advice on how to sew and perhaps what kind of fabrics work best. im am currently attempting to be Momochi Zabuza, Kilik, and a Smurf. NDK any one?
Kilik and Zabuza, huh? Not afraid to show skin, I see.
xp Well, from my experiences with sewing, it's generally best to get something that doesn't fray terribly easy. I like using felt for smaller things like hats but it attracts dog hair easily.
xp Basically with fabrics it depends on how experienced you are. If your new at it, I recommend inexpensive fabrics that aren't too thin. As for the sewing, leave lots of room for mistakes. You can always make it smaller, but you can't make it bigger.
sweatdrop Don't do any detail work until the base is completely finished.. Etc.
xp You might want to make a pattern using examples you might have etc.. And, uh.. That's all I can think of.
