No, it's pretty brutal, umm. People getting shot in the face, stabbed, mouth cut open from the side... sweatdrop

The previews make it look like the fantasy stuff is what the movie is all about, but it mainly isn't. eek

My mother thinks it's a foreign film with subtitles. I know it wasn't made in America, but does it really have subtitles?

Mum wants to know; I really don't care. xP

Yup. The movie is all in Spanish, but after a little while you don't even notice anymore. xp

xd That works.
I haven't seen it, but my friends who have seen it have liked it.

Just curious, what sorts of movies are in theatres in Europe? Are the movies predominately American-produced, or a mix of American-produced and European-produced? (Please forgive my ignorance. xd Looking back on the question it seems pretty stupid, but I'M GONNA ASK ANYWAY.)

European I have no freaking idea. I can tell you about UK cinemas though.

We've been flooded with american shizz :3

We need to look everywhere for obscure films from other countries.

Its annoying.

Last time I checked UK was in Europe.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 09, 2007 4:00 pm

Yep, but it's off the continent and thus disjointed.

I don't call myself European.

I call myself British or Scottish.

A French person doesn't call themselves European, they call themselves French.

We all KNOW we're European, yet the only thing keeping us together as a union is the trade agreement named the European Union. That fails and a European war would break out in my hindsighted opinion.

It's hard to explain. You really have to have grown up here to understand.

Keeping on topic - the main reason I don't know much about cinema is because I don't actually go, as the closest one is 45 miles away. Unless there is something I want to see. Or I have a reason.

Plus, European cinema and cinema mean two different things. European cinema takes into account mainly films like Chocolat and Pan's Labyrinth - films in European languages or made by a European director, many of which I don't see as they don't come out in nationwide cinemas, beyond the two above. Most of these films are shown in arthouse societies in Universities and other such places. Cinema, to me at least, means American films. :S

I understand. :3

Ah, I see.
That's too bad, because a TON of american films are really stupid. ><; We need more original ideas.
