Ayame's eyes widened slightly, staring in reluctant belief. "...void?" she echoed quietly, still confused. No entrances? What did that mean? "Wh-why do you keep saying 'we'?" she asked suddenly, taking a small step back from him. She watched his movements nervously, her hand still clutching the hilt of her sword. But her mind was preoccupied with confusion, and before she knew it, he'd slashed up her middle. She gasped and staggered back, looking down at herself. She was expecting blood, but soon realized she didn't even feel pain. Just and odd sensation, and then.... Rai? she thought suddenly, then listened anxiously for a reply. ...Rai?

She waited a short while longer, then accidentally spoke aloud, her tone urgent. "Rai, answer me!" She looked around herself, growing frantic. "Rai? Raiden! Why aren't you... s-saying anything?" Her eyes were wide, staring blankly at the ground. He wasn't answering. Why...? Slowly, she looked back up at Zetsumei. In an instant she'd drawn her sword, holding the large blade in just one hand, pointed directly towards him. "What did you do?!" she shouted, but both her arm and voice were shaking, the sword wavering in the air as she fought back a sense of panic, and the tears she felt forming in her eyes.

Zetsu looked around curiously. Where was the other? "Tell me... Was he dying as he possessed you?" He asked, then immediately knew as he saw the tears start welling in her eyes. "I'm sorry Miss Ayame..." He said quietly, then, on an impulse, hoping to calm her before she started staining her beautiful face with the oceans of tears to come, brought her into his arms in a deep embrace that most only shared with family and friends, as was his compassion and understanding.

Ayame bit down hard on her lip, staring at him fixedly. Her eyes were still wide, the tears gathering more by the second, threatening to spill out. "Rai..." she said again weakly, her voice soft, grief-stricken. She didn't bother replying to Zetsu. He seemed to have figured it out on his own. And then, suddenly, she felt something she hadn't felt in years; arms around her, hugging her close. She froze, her eyes widening even further. Her sword dropped from a trembling hand and clattered loudly to the ground and she stood perfectly still, tense, unsure what to do. A couple seconds passed, and finally she seemed to snap out of it.

She shut her eyes tightly and began thrashing, trying to get away from him. "You should have asked!" she screamed, her voice high pitched with her hysteria. "Why did you do that? You should have asked!! Let go of me! I hate you! Bring him back! Pl-please!!" On and on she went, shouting, struggling, panic-stricken as tears streamed down her face. Her eyes opened once, then squeezed tight again. But that was enough to reveal that her right eye was orange-red, but her left had returned to its original emerald green with Rai's absence. "Bring him back!" she raged. Black sparks were beginning to leap off of her, sizzling into the ground where they landed.

Zetsu held Ayame tighter as she started struggling. "I can't bring him back... Nothing can... I'm sorry... I didn't want this to happen easier... Calm down!" He said, though it seemed like nothing was getting to her. He could suddenly feel strange sizzling sensations on his body and winced as a few hit his face. "Please! Calm down!" He shouted, then tried his last resort. He pressed his lips to her's firmly, hoping it would be enough to calm her down.

"Don't tell me to calm down!" Ayame screamed, struggling relentlessly. "It's your fault! It's your-!" But she suddenly cut off, mainly because something covered her mouth. And it wasn't a hand, which was what she'd have expected, if anything. No. It was... Her eyes opened wide, staring straight ahead. Her body jolted in alarm, then stilled, standing in paralyzed shock. Without even thinking, she tried to speak, but it came out as simply a muffled squeak. Her dazed eyes were out of focus, the dark sparks stopped leaping from her body, and she had silenced herself completely. After a moment, her hands shot up in a jerky motion, placing themselves against his chest. She started to push, but ended up tightly gripping his shirt instead, with her eyes still wide and currently unseeing, and her face an extremely deep shade of red.

Zetsu released the kiss when she tried to push away from him. "I'm sorry it had to come to that... Now will you please calm down and listen?" He asked softly, still holding her, but not kissing anymore. "I'm sorry... I should have asked, but I didn't think he was dead... It is my fault and I know that... All I have to offer is my condolences for your loss... Now mourn, cry, have a fit... Do what always comes naturally to people when they lose someone they cared for..." He said, keeping her in his arms.

Ayame eyes fluttered a few times, opening and closing rapidly until her sight had unblurred. Then she tilted her head back, meakly peering up at Zetsu's face. Her own was still extremely red, and other than that small movement of her head, she didn't budge and inch. Her hands still clutched his shirt, trembling slightly, and silent tears poured down her face. But she did calm herself and listen, taking in what he was saying now that her hysteria had been... utterly destroyed. It hit her pretty hard. Her eyes widened a little further, and her mouth opened and closed a few times, before she finally managed to say anything. Her voice was small, defeated, a suddenly hopeless whimper. "B-but he was... all I... had..." She bit down hard on her lip, looked down to the ground, and suddenly leaned forward, grip tightening on Zetsu's shirt as she buried her face against his chest, silently sobbing.

Zetsu gently stroked Ayame's hair as her tears made his shirt wet. "I... Regret your loss Ayame..." He uttered softly, holding her against himself gently. "Listen... Since he was all you had... I'll take his place... I know replacing a person is impossible... But as my repention demands... I need to be here to aid you..." He said gently, then returned to making 'shhh' noises and telling her that it would be alright.

Ayame shook her head, but didn't raise it. She just continued crying, shoulders shaking in silent sobs. She wanted to yell at him. He didn't regret it. He'd done enough already. He'd done too much. It wouldn't be alright! But she didn't. She stayed silent, just letting it all out in one giant wave of sorrow, uncontrollable. After what seemed like hours, but was better measured in minutes, she finally drew back. She quickly wiped her face with her hands, but her pale skin was lightly red and her face somewhat puffy from crying. Her long hair was messy, and she half-heartedly tucked a few strands behind her ear, ignoring the rest that still hung in her face. And already, the one eye that'd remained orange-red was shifting into a bright green like the other, but was currently stuck as a strange swirl of the two colors.

She glanced dully at Zetsu, her eyes suddenly partially closed in a blank expression, and sluggishly moved to pick up her sword. When her fingers curled around the hilt, she wanted for a split second to stab Zetsu through. But the thought faded against almost instantly, and she simply sheathed the blade instead, then stared blankly at the ground, unmoving.

Mori just kept walking, to anyone who was looking the way he was carrying her would look almost akward, like the way a guy would carry a child. To be honest Akane was kinda shorter than him already, but he wasn't doing this on purpose, he just felt like leaving immdately and didn't really notice that she was uncomfortable with being carried like that. Then again, he wasn't the type to carry someone the way a normal guy would, so this really did fit him. Again, he had wondered over to the feeling of death, to where else but a graveyard? He had done that on purpose this time though, he figured it was a place where both of them would feel...more or less at home. Mori doubted she was fully aware of these death warm feelings, though yet.

He set her down on a bench, where a large japanese structure was above them, its red structure was now darker due to the sudden overcasty skies. Mori looked over to ther as he sat down next to her "So have you seen this couple around...Rin and Yuki? The girl has like purple hair and the guy looks like he's wearing eyeliner?" he questioned, always slightly intrested in anything he could know about them.

Akane stayed quiet, though her eyes were closed in irritation. It wasn't exactly the most comfortable way to be held, with him just gripping under her arms and carrying her along. Several times, she was very tempted to swing her foot back and kick him to make him stop, but she held herself back. Instead she opened her eyes after a while, feeling something odd. What she saw was that they were in a graveyard. She sighed quietly but still didn't say anything. Shortly after, he'd set her down on a bench. She drew her knees to her knees and set Kuro lightly on top of them, where he sat and stared between her and Mori. Akane stared back before finally turning to face Mori as well. "...I've seen them," she muttered quietly. "A while ago... the girl borrowed Sei's powers."

Mori gave a slight nod as he thought for a minute longer, glancing back over to her. "That guy is actually the prince of hell, he's not supposed to be here, he should be gone." he said slowly as he looked away for a moment longer. The truth was, it would be pretty easy to just pick up Yuki and take him home, but it was easy enough for Yuki to escape as well if he wanted to enough. The reason why they didn't put more pressure on the situation for the moment however was because Uijii didn't want the situation turning into Romeo and Juliet. Much as he was the king of hell, Yuki was still Uijii's son, though their realationship was far from normal father and son ones. "Yuki shouldn't be allowed to live with the humans....just like you." he said as he finished turning to Akane. The truth, it was out, people like Akane, they weren't supposed to be living, in fact normally such small cases like this would eaisly be dealt with by a lower death god and that was that. This wasn't a normal case though.

Akane wasn't just some girl anymore, though it was doubtful that Mori would ever say so much outside of his head. However, if someone found out about Akane, she would quickly be dealt with, the only thing that was protecting her at the moment really was Mori.

Akane watched Mori quietly, her eyes widening just the faintest bit when it was said that Yuki was the prince of hell. Really? That guy? She... couldn't even picture that, even though it'd just been apparently stated as a fact. But then she began to wonder if that's why Mori really was here. He was often hanging around nearby Yuki, so she guessed he was possibly in charge to watching him. She then went on to briefly wonder if it was alright that he was here with her instead, then decided she didn't care. It wasn't her problem if he got into trouble. However, she didn't particularly mind his company...

She had begun staring at Kuro as she thought to herself, but her head jerked back to face Mori again when she heard what he'd said next. "...what?" she asked uncertainly. Her ears twitched, then flattened again. "Then... where am I supposed to be? Have you come to condem me to some place as well?" Her eyes narrowed slightly, and her tone turned suddenly icy.

"No" he replied after a moment as he stared at her, "Others will though if your not carefull. To them your nothing but a mistake" he replied cooly to show that he wasn't about to start saying stuff that showed he cared about her. "I could live forever however if I play my cards right, be a death god and keep humans in their place, the only reason I don't sufficate around you is because you smell like death. I love that smell." he said as he smirked lightly and then looked up at the sky again. The truth was, once he became a death god then he wouldn't have time to deal with anyone. Most death gods rarley had the time to do anything but think about death, angels called them the most bitter of people, but Mori new better. "True power...something that few could really understand, espeically those holy-than-now angels" he said, half to himself with a frown.

"Anyway, just thought I should share with you" he said for a moment before looking back down and lightly petting the kitten.

Akane watched him warily, ears twitching at the word 'mistake', then drooping slightly. She was tempted to ask if he thought she was a mistake as well, but was afraid of what type of answer she'd receive. So she just stayed silent and listened. Well, at least he apparently liked her smell, and he was talking a lot more now. She remembered when they'd first met, and he'd simply started kissing her, then left again without a word. But here he was replying without putting up a huge fuss first.

The last thing he said seemed to be spoken mostly to himself, she guessed it was ok that she found it confusing. She watched for a moment as he began petting Kuro, and the kitten let out a quiet pur, just like a live one would. "...I'm not dead though," she said, breaking her silence. "I survived." She stared up at him for a second, then bowed her head and looked away. "...thanks for the warning." No, she couldn't tell if he cared about her at all, but she had suspicions that he might, at least a little bit. Otherwise, wouldn't he just turn her in himself? Or at least, not bother letting her know she could be in trouble later.
