For a moment, Artemis felt the urge to lock her jaws around the hammer... but that was an insane thought, a mere hallcination, and she fell back on her haunches, shaking her head in confusion. Why would that come into her head?
She looked back at the hut, then at the hammer again. To her surprise, the display of light and heat had subsided, and the strange weapon cooled in the rain as is nothing had happened. She stared at it for a while more, and something turned a switch on in her mind.
Suddenly, a mass of nonsensical images hit her hard-- some sort of rainbow path... wolves, so many wolves... herself a wolf, in a crazed state, chasing her brother Apollo as if he were her prey... fields of dry grass, cold, brisk air and the salty smell of the ocean... a humongous stone that blocked out all of the sun.. and then... and then...
Artemis violently snapped out of the hallucination, a feeling similiar to breaking the surface of water, out of breath. She took a step back, and stumbled over her clumsy human feet. Her drenched hair covered her face... she felt confused, frightened, weak...mortal...
After a while, she mustered the strength to stand up again. By the time she had walked through the entrance of the low hut, she had regained her composure.
"Hi, I noticed your wonderful dwelling here. Mind if I come in out of the rain?"

His back nearly facing the door, he raised his hand and beckoned her to come in. The air was warm and all the moisture upon her body tingled and misted right off of her, flowing out of the door to leave her dry. "All are welcome. I gave my summons to all." He glanced back and smiled, stroking his hand through his red hair again, then turning back to Hermes. "Come, find a place to sit. I am not a proper host, but I feed and house any who see it. These are.... hard times."
Half-sighing, he looked at the many empty chairs. He'd been here for a long, long time and he alone knew that each chair here would hold a god one day. The cycle brought them all here, to live at times, but the wheel was slowing and they were going to be given the choice to live as mortals one last time, or vanish from the world, even THIS world of the In Between. He mumbled "So many yet to come... so many fallen gods... "

A figure slightly glows in the dim light of the rain. The water slides of the cloak over his shoulders. At a steady pace, the man feels as though he's being pulled in this direction as if lead by another. He spies a pillar of smoke tapering from the ground. His fiery hair drips over his face as the rain begins to pound on his shoulders.
The ice eyed man approaches as he sees the outlines of a home and pulls the cloak tighter around himself. Even though his smile and love of the wilderness is amazing, he still feels that, instead of creating a safe haven, he should enter the existing one.
A shrill caw echoes from above as a large black figure glides down to his shoulder. "Heh...you see it too, eh, Daemon? Alright, let's go." The raven flaps the extra water off his wings and shakes his head. His gloved hand reaches for the bird and strokes him until his feathers are straight once again. "Yeah, I need to dry off too. Ha, I should have made these things waterproof."
The red haired stranger arrives to the steps of the dwelling and he inhales a cold breath and breathes out a warm and pleasant one. He reaches to knock gently on the door and smiles awaiting the answer. He then mummbles to himself, "I hope he's home."

Hermes is enjoying the meal, tasting everything. "'S been so long since I've had so much food to eat. Since I regained memory of my past, I've been sort of wandering; As I'm sure you know, we don't really -need- food to survive. And, wrapped up in thought as I was, I never thought to find somewhere to eat."
As Artemis enters, he grins. "Hey, fancy seeing you here! But, then again, I get the feeling there's not many other places to go in this otherwhere. They tend to be that way, you know, and even if I hadn't tried to follow the sound of Thor's axe, I get the feeling I would have ended up here anyways. Wouldn't I?" The question is directed towards Thor.

He let out a hearty laugh and looked at them both, then to the door behind, "All things here, return to here. It's nothing short of a wonder that there are gods among the gods. That is to say, those who make up a better whole when they take their rest."
"I am one such, a watcher of sorts. There are others. I believe the one among your "southern" kin would be Apollo. He has not been here for a very, very long time. But then again, the sun must keep moving, no?"

The bird flies to a perch and sits watching people. "I agree, Thor." He sits at the table on an oaken stool readying himself for some food.

"It is a pleasure to see you again, Lugh. Memories of you are still strong among my cousins, Cousin? I thought surely you'd be a few years yet. But as always, there is a place for you here, among the head seats" He reclined and looked around them, yawning slightly.

Better to eat than be eaten, as we both know. *stiffles a yawn and then smiles over his guests.* Nothing more any could ask for?

He stops once his belly is filled and his spirits bright. "So, I'm sure that we all weren't pulled here just to eat. There must be something serious if the gods of different places are pulled to one spot, don't you think so Thor?" He looks over to THor with a curious glance.

"Nay, it is merely a shifting in the balance again. People are forgetting who and what we are, and so we rest. I've been here for a long, long time yet. I only return for the briefest time, when someone realizes my truth of form. My history and origins are lost, and so I've taken to adding to this "simple hovel" for the InGathering of all the gods. We are going to make a new world soon, and leave our followers to the Will of the One God."

"Hmm." Hermes slowly chews the pieve of steak already in his mouth, and then swallows. "So then. How are we going about making this new world? And who shall be our leader in this task?" He smiles, mischievously as always. "I hope you don't assume yourself to be our commander, merely based on your being the first one to arrive." To ward off any suspicions the others might have, he adds, "Not that I intend to be the figurehead. Ties me down too much, you know?"

Throwing back his head and laughing, he actually had to wipe away a tear. "Has it been so long that you've forgotten. Ah, well, it is among other things lost to the masses. There are the Vassals of Knowledge, the Conclave of Essence, and the Echos of Power. Me and Lugh here are Vassals. We exist and convey the information again and again, for as long as needed, until the Neo Genesis arrives. When that happens, and all the gods have gathered, we all release our bodies to form a single being, the Conclave of Essense. At that point, we punch a pinpoint-sized hole in the fabric of this world, force outward into a new pocket universe, and explode outward to every corner, stretched and shaping it as our collective mind sees fit. As the distance grows and the force slows down, we individualize and our bodies reform, and the reformation draws in what we need and forms what we see in this universe as galaxies. These are the Echos, from which we still draw life.
You see, this has happened for so long, even I have forgot then times. Each universe we've greated has continued to exist, side-by-side, inside-out, every which way.... But they all still exist, and each time, we leave a bit of ourselves behind to be reclaimed by the One God. Someday, HE shall consume us before we can leave, and so HE shall become something more.
Me and Lugh here have argued it before, as to whether we were all One Gods at onetime. And so this One God will drift and join another gathering, as we are here.
