From where Rakinu was hiding, she could see the bushes rustling. DeMarkcus switched his weapon to a crossbow and began aiming between the two bushes as the smoke cleared.
"Where the hell is he keeping those weapons? You can't conceal a rifle and a crossbow on your person without some evidence of it being there..." Rakinu thinks to herself. "Did he set this up? Did he place weapons out here already?"
Rakinu set aim toward one of the bushes and with a nearly silent "twang" she let loose three bolts. The first shot allows for concealment, but she knew that if she fired again her position would be compromised. Rakinu figured that if she shot one of the bushes DeMarkcus would have no problem shooting in to the other. At least, one would hope a leader had that kind of insight.

(Don't worry about it, Kuja. It's good for you to be thinking up new ideas. I'll just have to limit some. And thanks about the Death Knight info, I wasnt aware of that.)
As the three shots flew towards the bush, three bunnies leapt out of the bush, flying almost forty feet into the air. Each of their eyes turned from a calm brown to an agressive, blood-thirsty red, and they opened their mouths to reveal fangs. They lifted their mouths up and let loose three seperate fireballs, each flying in the direction of the crossbow. Apparantly, they were smarter than they looked.
A moment after these bunnies emerged, three other ones burst out of the other bush and charged towards the area of the gunshot. They split up and made curvy paths on the grass, making them quite difficult to hit. Once they were in range, they too sent several streams of fire where the leader of the Death Clan was hiding.

((ooc: Oklies! 3nodding Golem, correct me if I'm wrong. Although Death Magic has nothing to do with time..while in a Lich Field (zone in which the Lich Spell is affecting) could it possibly seem as if..time were somewhat..slowed? It would only seem so, but not would not actually be slowed. Would that work? (Death Magic Users don't notice the slow affect.) If this is not allowed, or if the spell cannot do that, then I will edit my post. 3nodding ))
Well, atleast now I know where Rakinu is.. Demarkcus's thoughts were abruptly interupted. During that split second while DeMarkcus was thinking, his guard was down. The fireballs caught him by surprise. As if it were an automatic reaction, DeMarkcus put up his Lich Field. For the Mutant-Rabbits, time would appear to move slower than normal. For him, the fireballs were still coming straight at him. s**t. was all DeMarkcus could think before the blazing infernos connected.
He had suffered worse. Far worse. Yet still, the pain was felt. Up to DeMarkcus's elbow on his left arm. His chest. His right thigh. All of these parts of his body were hit, the blazing fireballs soon being replaced with second degree burns. DeMarkcus's clothes and chain mail were fireproof for the most part, but small holes did appear. You little bastards. Die.
Before you could blink, DeMarkcus fired his crossbow at one of the monsters than attacked him. He then proceded in transforming his weapon to a Scythe. "It was nice knowing you!" DeMarkcus's scythe came down on the monster with incredible force. The only thing that kept him from killing another was the fact that the corpse of the one who had just met his blade was now stuck on it. Wonderful. DeMarkcus reformed his Weapon, watching the corpse fall to the floor. "Unholy." A dark orb of energy was now rocketed towards the third monster that had attacked him.

((I shall use... The Holy Hand Grenade... Of Antioch! Readthe instructions!
...
1....2....5! NO 3 SIR... 3!))
Rakinu was surprised at the perception of the rabbits. She jumped, unfortunately into the open. Her cloak caught fire as the brush ignited behind her. She quickly dropped her cloak and ran out reloading her crossbow with three heavy bolts. She moves quickly strafing keeping her targets in sight and making it difficult for them to get a straight hit. The bunnies would have to lead their target and she was far enough away to change her paths.
After reloading she sets to single fire and prepares to make her way forward. She wanted to lure a few toward her to take some "heat" off of her leader.

Ariadne stayed hidden in the shadows. As the rabbits bolted back into the field, she ran just behind DeMarkcus, hoping his shadow would hide her. Glancing back over at him she wondered if he was fairing well after that hit.
Reaching down to her left side she pulled out a few blow darts, ready to use it at her disposal. She laid flat on the ground, and started to slither towards the clearing trying to get one of the rabbits in view. Down on her belly just before the clearing, she could see the rabbits.
She placed one of the blow darts in her mouth and waited for one of the rabbits to get close enough. When it did she blew the dart from her mouth straight at the rabbit.
Quickly she placed another one in her mouth. If that got the rabbits stirring her way she wanted to be utterly prepared.

((I'm assuming that the three that jumped and fired at Raikinu landed in the bushes again. If I were them that's what I'd do, but I'm not, so correct me if I'm wrong.))
Lich, a sign if I ever saw one. I'd join the fray, but these rabbits seem to have met their match. I'll just have to find the rest of them. Selikia used her shadow power to conceal herself and sprinted towards where she estimated the rabbits had landed, drawing one of her swords. One will give me more control, and these creatures seem to go for speed. Three... if I take them by surprise, I should be able to even the odds quickly. Hopefully they won't hear me before I see them.
((If the three I'm after went into the feild, I followed them that way. I'll leave it up to Golem at this point...))

(They went into the field and chased Rakinu.)
The bunnies that were attacking Kuja were hit hard by his assault. One of them was destroyed by his scythe, and while the other two dodged his unholy and his crossbow bolt, one of them was quickly taken down by Ariadne's blow dart. The last bunny, seeing it was clearly outmatched, hurled itself towards the Death Leader and, before anyone could kill it, exploded in a burst of flame.
Meanwhile, the three rabbits following Rakinu took the same curvey path, making them difficult targets. They proved to be quite agile and fast, and soon caught up to the assassin. Once they were in range, the middle one leaped up, sending a small fireball from the air at her, while the other two sent some fire streaming across the ground at her legs.

Right as the rabbits came in close enough to attack, Rakinu stopped strafing and retreating and charged. One passed right by her in mid-flight. She took a pot shot before diving over the other two, catching some fire on her calves and ankles. She quickly slung her crossbow back and unsheathed her sword. While behind the bunnies for a split second the assassin tried to slash into them with her long sword.
With a twinge of pain Rakinu pulls herself up and preapres to cast cold on the creatures. They were too fast to be dealt with normally. With long sword in hand she prepared the spell.

The bunny in the air was hit in the stomach by the crossbow bolt and fell down to the ground, dead. The other bunnies, however, did not suffer the same fate. One of them jumped up over the sword slash, and launched itself backwards, landing next to Rakinu's left leg. It opened up its mouth and attempted to sink two heated fangs into her calf. Meanwhile, the other one jumped only an inch above her blade, and with lightning-fast reflexes turned itself around in the air. It landed on the flat edge of the sword and charged upwards, running onto her hand and up her shoulder. Before she had time to react, it kicked her in the face and backflipped off her, landing several feet away.

((By the way, how do our spells work? If we get hit does it get interrupted or can we continue concentrating and get the spell off anyway? Right now I am going to assume the prior, but I would like to know the specifics so I may make use of it in the future.))
The bunnies were too dextrous to be taken down with sword strikes. They both were fast enough to bypass the sword strike, one ready to bite her calf, the other kicking her in the face.
The monsters were a victim of their own success, they harsh kick to her face sent her flipping her backwards. The other rabbit managed a bite, but it did little more than tear her boot. She flung herself backwards landing awkwardly on her feet. Rakinu stakes her sword into the ground and unsheathes the knife from between her shoulders. She quickly grabs her crossbow with her left hand and supports it with the shoulder strap still holding it to her right shoulder. It would be difficult, but with the stance she was in it would only be moderately difficult.
Rakinu stood holding her long serrated knife in front of her and the crossbow close in. She waited for the beasts to attempt another attack before making her move. Anything that crossed in front of her was getting a bolt, and anything that got near her was getting slashed with the knife.

(It's your choice. What I would do is small things wouldn't break your concentration, like the previous bunny attacks. However, bigger things that blow the wind out of you or are more shocking would take away your concentration. It all depends on how much focus and vitality a character has.)
One of the bunnies, blinded with battle fury, charged at Rakinu, trying to get close in. The other, however, strafed around her side, sending a fireball at her flank.

((Thank you. I will keep that in mind.))
Rakinu kept an eye on each bunny. She continued facing the one running to her side, but out of the corner of her eye she kept the other one approaching her in check. In one swift movement she cuts the strap holding the crossbow in place, allowing her left hand to move with the crossbow to fire at the bunny in fromt of her. The recoil made her unsure of her shot, but she aimed at the bottom of the bunny hoping that the recoil would send the next shot right into it.
The assassin wasn't quite done yet. Her right hand flicked the knife into a downward position and grabs a bolt from her thigh with her thumb and forefinger. In less than a second the bolt was placed in the crossbow, but needed to be rewound. She moved to face the other one, now watching the other out of the corner of her eye. Her unprepped crossbow and knife aimed at the one charging in hoping to get it to redirect movement. Rakinu had been keeping in mind the seemingly random movementsof the rabbits, but thought she had a chance at gauging its movement so that she could strike with the knife.

After hearing the dried grass rustle, Leena saw the unseemingly gentle rabbits become vicious and hostile. At first, she stood in place, carefully watching their movements, as the bunnies barraged a fellow clan member with assaults. She nodded in approval watching for a few moments.
Pushing her cloak behind her and whipping her hair out of her face, she performed long strides with her well muscled and shapely legs, quickly picking up speed. Taking care to dodge the girl..Rakinu's...crossfire she weaved from left to right. With a smirk on her face, she held her left palm upright, calling forth the dark energies. Leena, her cream colored face even more beautiful, as the unholy magicks began to flow through her body, a dark orb growing within her palm.
Still a few yards away, she closed her left hand, her fingers pulsing with dark flashes and sparks. Extending her arm, her palm opened in an instant, an opaque ball of black nothingness shot from her hand, Leena's concentration upon the rabbit Rakinu had not shot yet. Her smirk faded only slightly...she'd have to concentrate on guiding her unholy orb to hit it's target...not a fellow clan member.
Still running, her right hand idly caressed her thigh, feeling the handle of a dagger. Her cloak billowing loudly behind her, her footsteps lighter approaching Rakinu.

One of the bunnies was taken care of by Rakinu's crossbow, and the other one was just as easily dispatched by Leena's unholy. Now that the rabbits were gone, a strange calm came over the area. A dry, cold wind blew, foretelling the cold winter that was bound to come. An awkward silence enveloped the area; it was unclear if it was the calm before a storm or after an already finished one.

I see Rakinu is quite the Assassin...her strategy is...bold, to say the least. After having viciously destroyed the rabbits, DeMarkcus quietly viewed the chaotic scene. He watched as Rakinu swiftly eliminated two of the three remaining targets and as the other was dispatched by Leena's Unholy. The others never joined in..but, it was wise for them to save there strength, as it is unlikely that that many monsters of such a small magnitude would have the power to devour many sheep in one night. There must be more. Despite this, DeMarkcus saw that atleast Rakinu had proven herself.
He stepped outward into the field, and towards Rakinu and Leena, scythe in hand. "Good work ladies. I congratulate you on the victory. But, less us not let our guard down, as I have a hunch, and, if I'm correct, there will be many more monsters. It's going to be a long night, so take this time of peace to rearm yourselves and prepare for our next encounter."
